  • There's not much in this world with more mojo than an original Broadcaster - but opportunities to play one are few and far between, and opportunities to own one are even fewer - and pricey. So in order to celebrate the 70th birthday of the guitar that changed the world, the Fender Custom Shop has released a stunning recreation of the '50s legend.

Thats what a Fender sounds like without "Signal processing". That is an honest Demo..well done. I have to admit that I considered one of these till I got to hear the 1 pickup "Esquire" 70th which I ended up taking home cos it sounded so right...more Fender tone with 1 pickup!

You could say It would be the only Broad you’ll ever need, but that wouldn’t sound right 🥴

Good call. After a certain point, its only bells and whistles and diminishing returns. This sounds great but not all that much greater than some of the reissues and American vintage/original series

Same! Except I have an MJT 1960 Tele. Swamp ash, Fralin pickups, beautiful relic. All for $1100. Can't beat it!

Good luck selling for over 5 grand. These hold value. And from inflation, from '52 arent much more expensive. Like the guitars in 52' these will appreciate much more then mass produced usa models. Depending on how developed your ear is, they 100% play and feel better. Due to the handbuilt attention to detail and huge selection of 1st pick woods, the regular fender usa line has NO WAY to compete w the pieces coming out of the fender custom shop. I spent alot of money on vintage and custom shop, it bugs me. You dont see me on squier videos trashing squiers and big upping fcs. I wish the purveyors of this everlasting debate would take the time to do a little research. Btw i just bought a jp mirror tele from the customshop it has appreciated 3 grand in less than 2 years. Just saying. This is how you buy and sell and trade to get what you want, without spending a fortune. You get something like this on a 36 month payment then keep and play for a few years and flip onto the next thing. Cant do that as easy w run of the mill guitars.

@@ledzeppelinzoso some of us buy guitars to play, not to sell.

@@ledzeppelinzoso I see your point, and I understand that custom shops actually sound as good if not at times better ( in the case of some masterbuilds) than actual vintages. But then again, if you arent buying guitars for resale value or for investment purposes, a well built guitar will be all the same to you. Yes the woods on the custom shop are nicer, yes the attention to detail and tone will be just that much better, but it will never be 2000 dollars worth better from an objective standpoint. Subjectively, hell yea, custom shops are just much better crafted, but if youre a player and not a collector, it really is all diminishing returns for the money. You pay hundreds of dollars more for some stuff thats just a bit better. Thats what the OG commenter was talking about

I own 2 Harley Benton Telecasters I bought for less than half the price of one fender and would not trade either one for a Fender. Fender is still riding on the coat tails of Leo Fenders well deserved reputation, but fender produces crap, especially their Made in Mexico amps which are pure garbage.
