I have 2 things to mention, and I’ll try to be brief: 1. I just noticed that you (i.e. this channel) are a proponent (and perhaps also practitioner?) of EMDR - so, fwiw, I thought I’d share my experience with it: In 2017 (while in rehab for opioid addiction, incidentally) I was treated with EMDR therapy for PTSD related to a childhood trauma. Before sharing the results, I’ll just add that I’d consider myself a healthy skeptic (“healthy” meaning as a rule I neither believe nor disbelieve anything by default), so I went in with no expectations whatsoever. But anyway, I was legitimately amazed by how effective it was. I’ll never forget the sensation of cascading dopamine release as I completed the eye movement portion during each session. In fact, the sensation was actually stronger in each session than it had been in the one prior. Most importantly though, I’ve experienced no symptoms related to PTSD or that childhood trauma ever since - I guess one could say that the treatment “cured” my PTSD. 2. I mentioned this on a previous video, but in case it went unseen, it recently occurred to me that there is a song that would be perfect for this channel, which is “Shrunk” by Aesop Rock. As for why it is so appropriate; the song is about Aesop Rock’s first time seeking professional help regarding his mental health - in fact, the song tells the story of his very first therapy/counseling session at a mental health clinic. It’s a really great song all-around, too.

Yup... I know this all to well. I'll be 33 in a month.. its been more than 10 yrs since she left now and I pretty much let the rest of my life fall apart. Had a gf or 2 since then but it's been a cpl yrs now that I pretty much gave up on everything n just sit in my parents basement n barely ever leave... waiting for all this to end. Especially since my brother committed suicide last year right around this time n my step dad got diagnosed with cancer again like 2 weeks ago. Pretty much just chill with my dog n try to stay numb cause I start goin crazy when I'm sober. Actually the other week like 2-3 days in a row I dreamt about her... I haven't had or remembered a dream in a long while.. we were together in the dream.. its been like 10 yrs since I've seen/talked to her n it took me a min or 2 to snap outta it after I woke up cause it felt like all those yrs ago when we were still together. Idk... kinda felt like a dick punch. Anyways.. now that I've said more than should've n typed a novel pretty much just saying... I can relate

You really should look at "Is Happiness Just a Word" by Vinnie Paz. It's about living with dissociative disorder and just over all one of the great hip-hip tracks of the last few decades.

Absolutely love this song and have been a massive fan! I don’t know if it’s just me though but have always felt like the music video is different compared to the album version. Howard Jones screams more in the album version in both the verses and chorus. Both are incredible! But if you want to truly experience the song, album version for sure!

The drummer Justin foley is a classically trained orchestral percussionist who I believe actually has a music degree. Very musical drummer.
