    This is the perfect content for olympic weightlifting. The behind the scenes. How these athletes are in all kinds of situations. The tense times and even the "just going through the movements types of days with very little things to keep in mind.

    4:56 Lasha says that he cannot properly gripe the meter as his fingers are two thick. Maybe that can explain his relatively lower measurement.

    @3:26 so just the bar alone is 20 kg? Also seeing Lalayan just hop over chairs like he does proves how nimble weightlifters are. And at first glance i thought the man sitting next to Lasha was his brother. There is a slight family resemblance. For as skilled and intimidating as Lasha may be he seems to be also lighthearted and likes to joke. I also agree with another commenter who said that it looks like Lasha's hands were too big to fit into the grip strength measurer.

    • @Pipodecatan
      @Pipodecatan ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Im not shure,most rock climbers are small,maybe in strenght to size ratio they win,but the strongest one would be a armwrestler or strongman

    • @Wisey_83
      @Wisey_83 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      they would certainly have a muscular endrance advantage, Not so sure about maximum static grip strength though to be honest. My bet also sits with an arm wrestler or Strongman. But, the rockclimber would still be WAY above average haha.

    • @hiidenkirnu
      @hiidenkirnu ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Wisey_83 Maximal grip strength and rate of force development (ie. in this context gripping something really hard really fast) plays a big role in more technical climbing, so it's not all about endurance. That said, what I've seen is that climbers do not necessarily fare that well in all types of grip tests. This one seems to be close to the standard "gripper" type (Captain of Crush etc), which is not very close to what climbers are usually doing. Having a test that requires more active fingers would favour climbers for sure.

    Grip strength is weird, I’d be willing to bet it’s got a huge genetic component to it. My granddad never lifted a weight in his life but he was strong as shit, his grip was ridiculous. I know bodybuilders and power lifters twice his size on tons of gear who couldn’t do what he did
