I quilt, I draw, I replace car parts, I fix houses, I teach 2nd graders. I look for all kinds of videos and cringe at so many of them. This is exactly my style: no cutesy-ness, no over-talking, no need for editing, no music, no ego-feeding,--just clear, competent instruction. Thank you for being exceptional in the field of video uploads. It was extremely helpful.
Your method for doing feathers in deep curves is life-changing!!!! Okay. A little dramatic. I have been trying to find a consistent method for doing this for ages though and your demonstration brought me immediate success. I have a special quilt that I've been waiting to complete until I could master this particular feather technique. Guess what I'm working on next? Thank you Lauren!
Awesome. I've never had some of these broken down into sections and how you fill them in. Thx. I'm sure I'm not explaining exactly what I mean but it's all good right.
I agree. The best ever. I have never seen the first one demoed. As a new fmq person this was awesome. I usually see the last one as a beginner and i could never do it so i never do feathers. Now i definitely will. Thx!!!
this is all new to me as I am just a beginner but I am determined to learn thanks for a great tutorial I was given a fabulous sewing machine for Christmas so looking forward to putting this into practice. can I ask the brand /type of marker you used...HAPPY NEW YEAR
Michael hit the nail on the head! this was the best video ever on feathers, no yaky yak just good instructions. I learned plenty. Continue your videos please, thank you very much.
Oh my gosh! This was sooo helpful. Gave up on feathers a while ago. I really think I can do this. Going to try this week end and will let you know how it worked. The chalk lines are awesome!! Thank you!!! Can you please do a video on hearts?
Thank you so much for showing us some tips, especially draw that reference line, what a difference makes, I'll definitely try it out. I just love feathers. Thanks again.
OMG I have been watching tons of videos on feathers and couldn't get them. Watched your methods and they click. Thank you so much for all the pointers and instructions.
Boy are you good! How long does it take to get that good!!! I find backtracking on the same line very hard 😢. Your work is amazing . Thank you so much for your fabulous video ❤️😊
Just finding your video and it has renewed my excitement for trying feathers. Your teaching is friendly and to the point and the work now feels manageable! Thank you so much!!!
This is the best explanation I’ve seen on TH-cam for how to do feathers! The line at the apex changed my feather life! So helpful!!! Thank you so much! Keep these coming. Love your teaching technique!
Hi! Loved the video. Im a sit down quilter and my machine doesn’t have a stitch regulator option and i stress so much about the stitches not being the same length...does it matter? Or should i just do fast speed and say to hell with it? 😂😂🤗
What a clever cookie you are thank you for your great tutorial. Can you tell me where your hands are on the quilt and what tension you are using? 😊😊 Toni
I surprised myself a couple of days ago when I finally quilted some feathers. I think they look better than the ones I’ve been doodling for the past two years. Doodling works.
I just happened to find your station when looking for free motion feather videos. I really like your teaching method, so easy to follow, and explained so well. I’ll be following and looking at your courses. Thanks
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have been trying to get feathers made and incorporate them into my long arm quilting but have never been able to wrap my brain around the consistent flow of each component; I have played a lot with the "C" pattern creating flames, ghosts, swirls, etc. and now your directions and visual input has added a whole new level of confidence for me to attempt these; you are concise, professional, don't add distracting background noise or visual gestures of "look at me", and that makes this video that much more enjoyable to use and re-use as a guide - I stumbled onto this video by accident and am glad I made the trip! THANK YOU!
Thanks for listening I've had alot of people tall me that which is odd cause it's not something i have every even thought about but I pay attention to it now.
Ok, I’ve been scared to try feathers. Newbie to fmq. OMG, you explained it beautifully and with the apex explanation just clicked and I’m doing it!! I just started a border and this is turning out great. Thank you Thank you!
Oh wow! I’ve watched a lot of videos to help me with feathers and this is the first one that suggested to put a line in the curves to transition! Thank you!!! I can’t wait to try this!

Lol thank you so much! I have a whole website and online classes if you need more!
Michael Templeton, spot on. And so many videos are ruined by loud intrusive music, I'd prefer there not be music now.
I agree, just tell us how to do it. I dont need to hear a guitar, I need to know how not to make it look like crap...lol
@@howbethdoesit5695 lol! I love this

All the comments are true. I don’t like the cutesy baby talk some teachers use and you do a fine job!
Thank you for the tutorial! The problem I have is that one side of my feathers look great but the other a complete mess. This helped quite a bit!
You’re welcome 😊 mesy feathers on one side is totally normal! it all balances with tricks and practice
White thread would be easier to see...at least for me
I'll keep that in mind. thank you!
