WOW community is Toxic and is trash !!!! try wiping once in a dungeon you'll be called names and insulted. Or try not meta build or try not to do the pull they was some popular streamer or guide pulls.
And do the same thing on FF14 difference is huge we wiped 20 times + at one boss until every new sprout got the mechanic and we finished it.
I was from a poor family so until Cata didn't have my own money to pay for the game so Classic I only played on private server and most of them were terrible bugged.
But Even in Cata people were not that bad ....science then I returned to check every damn Expansion and things and community just got worse and now with Shadowlands we peeked and community toxicity.....
Dungeon Mythic PVP ground all toxic and insults rights and left.
Say something in chat you'll instantly be insulted but some EGo maniac....

@Qta yes you're right, but by your logic EVERY game would turn to shit. It's how the developers work with the situation. Work against the sellruns by making them illegal and let people report advertisement for it. same goes for splitruns, but at this point they have absolutely no issue with it. (because, they actually make money with those runs thanks to WoW Tokens) and the toxicity? Well, they remove /split instead of banning people for actual toxic behaviour like kicking someone when he wipes at a boss once, or having a longer ban than 24hours for racist behaviour. Yes the community starts with this shit, but it's the company's job to block this shit, and not just accepting it. Hell, the reason /spit got removed from TBC Classic, is because players spammed it over the guys who were riding on the shopmount. So they did it not really for toxic reasons, it was more because they wanted the $$$

The absolute worst thing about wow for a long time has been their complete inability to listen to their playerbase. They keep doing exactly what a significant part (possibly not the majority, at least yet) of the playerbase does NOT want. Also backwards logic for example with pvp: Not worth to give attention to vs. trying to encourage participation by actually trying to make pvp more balanced and to have new stuff to do etc.

You get to do your dailies, maybe farm a little for gold and run one or two mythics. At the end of the week, try to clear SoD and there it is.
Sadly this is what content creating has come to. Yeah, I get it, Blizzard has done some terrible shit which they will pay for, financially and on a human resources dimension, but to be honest if it were me, i'd get myself employed at Blizzard right in this moment. Tonight I logged in, decided to hang with FC for about 30 minutes, then just jumped in random roulettes as heals or tanks to help all the new people with Q times. Then an hour later logged off happy.
Wows Chores are horrible compared. However, I see many players get lost in FFXIV because they look for chores and mandatory content. Then take on everything, directionless and become burned out. Coming from a CE raider, 14 has been so refreshing and eye opening. WoW is so outdated in literally so many ways. Its been years I havent been able to just logon in wow and play the game just for fun. If you don't have any goals in wow like acquiring certain pvp rating or raiding at a,b or c level, there's nothing to it. It's gotten so stale and hollow. WoW could learn so much from 14. Especially in the 'respect your time' department.
Yesterday I discovered the golden saucer and spent half an hour looking at the rewards and eyeing that sick cactus mount, and guess what, it's an achievable grind with a sick reward st the end of it that you know when you'll get it. That type of content is everywhere in that game. Whether its housing, old raids, tmog, etc. The last time we had something like that in wow was Twisting Corridors, and that wasn't even fun, it was just a chore.

I know you may not see this but I really appreciate you covering videos like this. As a long time player who has been playing the game since Vanilla, every expansion I’ve played almost religiously up until BFA.
I used to be able to enjoy the game for what it was. I grew up playing it and even when I was active duty and serving, I still found time to play it and at the time? I could acruallt still progress despite not having time to raid etc, PVP Was my escape. The only thing I could enjoy including doing quests and just being what others would see as a ‘Filthy Casual’, as time went on and legion hit I actually found myself really enjoying it! I could have multiple classes like other XPacs, enjoy the game and not feel like it was more of a chore than something that offered me an escape and a way to enjoy the time with my friends.
Skip forward to BFA, Im a civilian now. And with a bit more time I found it hard to run an alt during it- It was rough. Ended up taking a break until Shadowlands and wow.. Just zero way to progress. I can’t even PVP and get geared anymore because everything is locked behind time and rating- I find myself more and more becoming bitter with the game as I can’t make multiple alts to escape on, I found 1-50 to be the most enjoyable part of the game and getting to 50-60? To become the most stressful part of the game. I don’t have gold to keep buying legendaries (I refuse to give blizzard money for the same exact thing they banned other players for doing) and with every single raid requiring some insane Il or AOC? I couldn’t even do content. In my own area (PVP) I found myself getting destroyed more and more by people in high tier raiding gear or players who bought their rating / had massive amounts of time to get to insane gear. I tried it myself- it’s just not fun. The game became more of a burden to me than something I enjoyed, Torghast runs for some soul ash..? Why not a piece of gear..? A conduit ? Anything but just soul ash- Raids? Only raids I could get into to do were LFR- and gear from there..? Not even on the same competitive tier. The game feels dead to me, so many friends have quit and players have quit all that are left are elitists and honestly? Toxic people and run by a company that just refuses to listen? I felt like a lot of problems i had were never voices but these videos you’ve been making? Makes me feel like I have a voice. And? Made me discover a new game. In regards to having to repeat the content, I really feel like FFXIV hit the nail right on the head with the current relic grind. I know folks are tired of hearing the comparisons, but hear me out.
The relic grind is pretty intense for your first 80 relic, there's sections where you have to do content over and over for items you need. But! And this is the important part. Once you get your first relic, some of the steps are not repeated. The grindiest steps.
So getting your first relic still feels like an acheivement because you have done the hard slog, but getting another relic for another class you like takes much less effort so it's not so likely to burn you out.
And you can see this philosophy in many of the game's systems. You can level all the classes on a single character- no need to go through the story again, you get an XP bonus on classes that are lower than your main, you can farm gear on your main class that is useful for alt classes. You can still fly in zones you've unlocked flying on.
It's designed in such a way that you're not spoon-fed the content and, yes, you sometimes have to repeat it. But it's easier and faster the second time around.

I wish to paid upgrade to the top level, and starting PVE/PVP immediately, not like speaking 1-2 weeks before I can really play. I think task system can open to people who wish to achieve title or to get special equipment or weapon. But it is so lonely now when level up when you missed the new patch updated. Also, the game now is lack of social connection.

1)They let armors for other classes from dungeons, quest or raid be obtainable by the class that you currently play.
2)Double exp for classes that is lower level than your highest main class.
      3) All classes in 1 character.

MMOs are my gambling addiction replacement. When I quit playing FFXIV (for the second time), I picked up FE Heroes, well.... more accurately FE Heroes led me to cutting out FFXIV cause I was a whale in FE Heroes. And..... I got so addicted to gacha games because I am addicted to gambling, real world gambling, as in, casinos, I limited it to 20 bucks, played on that, if I was left high and dry by those with me (who were winning) and I wasn't, I'd get another 20 and play some more, but it never went over that, because it was semi-social. But without the social aspect or the limitations I placed on myself set in stone and no one to hold me to them, I became a whale and.... welp.... went through money super fast. I banned myself permanently from gacha games and, lo and behold, FFXIV was there again and I went back to it and I always have something to do. It's not a "drug" per se, but it was an addiction that went from an MMO into the real world.... and so I just resubbed for one character per world with 1 extra retainer (sometimes glams need old stuff and they can hold it, okay?) and I'm happy with it, I made a new friend which makes me want to login daily and.... it's just a nice time again.
Anyway, that's my addiction story in a nutshell. Still getting rid of the consequences of my actions.

A really simple way to think about it is this: For anyone who hhas alts, imagine if when you did torghast on a character it gave soul ash to every alt and counted for that same alt. 20 torghast runs -> 2. Same thing with maw invasions, dailies. For your weekly the honor gained all counts towards each character. Imagine 8.3 but every alt got the same stuff as your main. (Obviously with some restrictions)

  • @AzurielMist
    @AzurielMist 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Thing that really killed it for me is having soooo many BIS pieces of gear that only comes from weekly vault.
Obviously somewhat fixed now, but they've even strung that out to take more time...... like the seasonal keystone master.
Used to do a lot of raiding in MOP, full heroic clears (before mythic was a thing).
Thinking back there wasn't that much mandatory stuff you were forced to do, aside from maybe the side legendary quest which wasn't bad at all.
Could actually spend time doing bg's for fun, or arena.
Your time is just so divided now, took a break after clearing castle nathria and the content drought.
Come back to the Dominion socket gems, and the socket gear..... automatically logged out an unsubbed.
Who wants to have their equipped maxed legendary from 9.0 invalidated due to sharing a item slot with a dominion socket piece..... the gold cost to do so is fucking insane, and if we're honest the whole economy/ gold making economy is fucked due to this.... my time is already so divided doing the "mandatory" forced BS I do not have time to farm the copious amounts of gold to replace it... which obviously favours their model to buy the WoW tokens.
    Game is so fucked.

The information literally was not stored anywhere, it was just a way for us working CS to be able to easily and in a non-confrontational way tell customers off. The roadmap for new features was already set years in advance in conjunction with stakeholders and bigger clients. So when a smaller customer had some idiotic request for a feature we just told them to use the feature and our product management team would look into it lol.

Just to add to what you said during the systems you said would be OK if you only did them once, the problem is the power is locked behind them. Instead of them being horizontal progression while you are doing other core things, it blocks you doing the core things- and then it further blocks you because you have to do it over and over again. On top of it, the "borrowed power" is useless after so much work to get it. Those covenants and stuff would be great if the rewards were not locking your core power, and as you say, you did not have to repeat it so often.
