Here is Wisconsin, milkweed is just what it sounds like...a weed! They are everywhere! So there is so much food for monarchs! We see them all the time up here.

Hi ❤️ I’ve been to Butterfly World several times here in South Florida and it’s so beautiful seeing them flutter everywhere and they also show the process of the caterpillars growth. What made me sad was how short the life span of a butterflies are. I had no idea. 2-4weeks only😞 they’re too beautiful to be around for such a short time 🦋
Oh, I wanna go to Butterfly World 🤭🦋 sounds so fun! Some of the monarchs live for 8-9 months when they migrate 🫶

We have had many monarch caterpillars that transformed into butterflies. I made a water container for the butterflies and bees to drink from. I have a shallow dish that I filled with marbles and a bit of water. That way they can drink without drowning. I really liked your set up for your caterpillars.

Its really nice how excited you are about the catepillars. You need to find a milk weed dealer 😀. Monarch butterfly migration is really interesting too, those little things fly across continents! This whole video is pretty awesome, saving nature, biking instead of driving, beds at the beach, delicious wooden bowls of food, and fun drinks

I've really enjoyed watching you take care of the caterpillars and cant wait to see them hatch. I have planted a few milkweed plants but unfortunately have not seen any caterpillars on them. I'm waiting patiently because I really want to help the monarchs too!
This Caterpillar journey is taking me back to my childhood. We use to do this as a science project in elementary school at PR and it was fascinating to watch all the changes happen before your eyes. Thank you for saving the Monarch butterflies. I just heard about them being on the endangered list. My husband leaves are milkweed plants that grow on the road bank for the Monarchs. So wonderful that you're interested in trying to raise them.
They aren’t endangered here in Australia, so if you ever need some. Don’t know what they eat over here though, I should look that up 🙂

I never noticed until last year when we taught the butterfly lifecycle to the grade ones at my school that "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" is wrong about something! In the book, the caterpillar makes a cocoon, and then he turns into a beautiful butterfly...but if he made a cocoon, he would turn into a moth! Eric Carle should have used the word chrysalis instead of cocoon. I couldn't believe it when we talked about that with our grade ones!

Love the caterpillar updates! Going to a garden center tomorrow to see if they have milkweed (and the farmers market). I have lots of flowers and bushes specifically for butterflies, but no milkweed for the caterpillars. Love alllll your videos ❤️❤️🌞🌞

Milkweed is not native to my province in Canada, but then monarch butterflies aren't native to here either. I only found that out by doing research, but I found out the proper wildflowers that help the butterflies that are native to here. So I appreciate you pointing out that you should do research on what plants are native to your area!

Swamp milkweed is the best for them in Florida. Unfortunately, the tropical milkweed is not native in Florida and is also known to be a danger to them. Thank you for caring for them! Just wanted to share this info.
