Gumball was the only show for the longest time to fuck around with so many different art styles and as accurate to the inspiration as possible. The animators took it to a whole different level here, actually animating 8/12 fps, and reactions to incoming attacks.
lol the gumball animators DID NOT animate the fight in the fury. That was an actually studio You are right about the overall show messing around with different art styles tho, even if they bring in guest animators
Studio 4°C animated the Nicole and Yuki fight. Ben Bocquelet originally wanted Studio Trigger, but they were busy with various other projects. But Studio 4°C fucking delivered one of the best moments in the entire show!!!
@@TheGallantDrake usa dollar money still better that yen bro dont you ever compare overwork employee too a fcking capitalism usa hahahaha just me hating japan sorry
One of the animators from Studio Trigger did animate a sequence for Gumball. It was the one where Gumball is on the skateboard dragging Darwin around. I can't recall the episode name at the moment.
Nicole and Yuki's fight sequence is one of, if not the greatest scene in the entire Show. The lower framerates, the reactions, and the action itself. It's all such a great, highly detailed love letter to anime, and Studio 4°C absolutely delivered with the animation.
5:25 The gym fight scene is basically a reference to the anime Kill la Kill that was made by the studio TRIGGER. The guys who also made Gurren Laggan and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners.
I know some people are saying this is trigger, but it's Studio 4C. I heard the rumor was they wanted Trigger, but trigger was busy so 4C (the berserk anime guys somehow) stepped in and mimiced their style.
"the disaster" is such a good season finale! I remember "the re-run" being hella promoted on CN back when it came out. It's one of my top fave episodes of gumball and one that's engraved in my brain lol
Season one is the best season. The only complaint I had was that in every episode it felt like it was trying to owt do the previous episode in terms of power level
Also by the way Richard is Italian American, Nicole is half Japanese, and Darwin is African American. This is all Canon by the way the writers confirmed this
The studio who helped with Nicole and Yuki's fight scene was Studio 4C, who also animated Transformers Animated and Thundercats 2011, two of the best revivals of older I.Ps.
Fun fact: The fight sequence from The Fury was animated by Studio Shaft, the same studio that made Madoka Magica and Fate Stay/Extra: Last Encore. Also, the two schools that Yuki guesses when asking Nicole what school taught her reference the Hokuto Shinken fighting style from Fist of the North Star, and the Hidden Leaf Village from Naruto. Edit: A correction. I have been informed it was Studio Shaft, not Studio TRIGGER. My apologies.
Fun fact the Grieving is an actual creepy pasta of a lost episode of the same name. I’ll leave out most details but basically it’s the Wattersons grieving after Aniais and Darwin die in the forest (obviously the lost episode in the creepy pasta never existed) and it was really cool to see the creepy pasta actually mentioned in show
We're finally at one of my favorite episodes The Fury. This show is at its best with art style changes and this shows it. The fight is absolutely awesome and Yuki and Nicole look great. And the Disaster is another of the best because of how intense it gets like it is dark in the best way
You finally reached the anime fight scene. The Grieving is a creepypasta. The Wattersons have the oval eyes from S2. I would've thought The Scam was 4's penultimate episode. That other ghost in the locker is one of The Others from Anais' grade. Gumball said in S2, if he saw Tina and Bobert fight, nothing would be worth watching anymore. REMEMBER THE DISASTER FOR NEXT TIME... To think you'll finish S6 by August...
“Which school taught you? Was it Hokuto (no Ken, as in Fist of the North Star)? Was it Konoha (the Hidden Leaf Village, you can guess where that’s from)? Or was it… Mr. Miyagi…? (You guys caught that one)”
Man, another one of my favourite batch of episodes. The anime episode is definitely one of the most iconic/best animated scenes. The animators for this show are truly the most talented.
The Fury is bringing some Street Fighter and Dragon Ball Z vibes. Nicole and Yuki fighting is one of the epic moments I've enjoyed. Those two are so powerful and their anime designs were incredible 🔥🔥🔥🤩🤩🤩🤣🤣🤣
The funniest thing about that anime fight scene is that they put so much effort into making it look so good, and it was probably all done as a joke! 🤣🤣🤣
The flashbacks were totally a reference to Dragon Ball but the actual fight scene was supposed to be in studio Trigger artstyle. Similar to Kill la Kill for example
All four of these episodes slap for different reasons. “The Fury” has an awesome fight scene that….kinda explains why people call Nicole waifu material. Also Yuki was TOTALLY in the wrong the whole time. “The Compilation” is a classic anything goes styled episode, with such a charming song at the end. “The Stories” is so grueling and agonizing, but that’s what makes it great. And “the Disaster” shows just how threatening Rob can TRULY be. And wait till next week, it can get WORSE.
People laugh at her asking if Nicole learned from Mr. miyagi but but miss her asking if it was konoha that taught her right before that. Aka the leaf village lol
Here's my opinion on the episodes: The Fury - This episode is so extremely good. Even if it didn't have the anime fight scene, it would still be fantastic. That scene is just what cements it as one of the best episodes in the history of the show. The Compilation - It's a fun episode! Definitely a slowdown from the last one, but it's fun and enjoyable. The Stories - Am I the only one who likes this episode a lot? Surprisingly, for an episode about how boring Molly is, it's actually really fun. It kinda reminds me of season 2 where an episode doesn't have to be super extra to be a fun time. And Darwin being overly nice to Molly doesn't annoy me. The Disaster - Part one of a two part special. It's kinda cool how the first part ends this season and the second part starts the next season. It's a really cool episode, but I don't like it as much just because the second part has all the real meat.
11:24 the clown in Gumball is like the snail in Aventure time is appears a couple times in the background just creaking out in corner looking directly at the audience braking the fourth wall just like the snail, so maybe look out of him
in the compilation they reference the creepypasta lost episode the grieving by replacing it with the chihuahua on the saxophone in SpongeBob squibward open the door to a version of his bedroom for a second then a messed-up head of squibward look alike in the creepypasta, but nickelodeon shut it down when they noticed when it was aired. squibward suicide is cannon let's just say.

Definitely feel the Edgerunners style

Bro, how did this fight get better animation than the entirety of 7 deadly frames?

Season 5 specifically
Nooooo don’t remind me! I loved that show so much and was so upset with how downhill the animation went
I just had a PTSD flashback from this comment

I really love that they know about the creepypasta 'The Grieving'. It used to be really popular years ago.

The Fury is top 10 episodes in Gumball
The Compilation has one of the best songs in the series
Rest in peace David Warner who was the voice of Rob.
YEAH the full on anime fight is so good gumball knows how to bounce between art styles insanely well
Rewatching the manga style scene while Masami gives the backstory, definitely DB vibes 😢 6:58 yeah, RIP Akira Toriyama

My theory on why the evil turtle made an appearance was probably due to the video being months old in universe
The Nicole and Yuki fight was sooo fuuckkiinn gooodd
And that season finale is just nuts

Yuki keeps asking Nicole to fight her is reminding me of Rex and Cell in DevilArtemis.
