Unfortunately at 91 Dame Collins was badly stung by Hamper Wasps whilst in France, unfortunately dear Percy and Norma Jean were also badly stung. Please keep Dame Collins in your thoughts as she recovers from this traumatic event. Elderly ladies often have a reaction of severe pain, swelling and breathlessness to wasp stings, Dame Collins is thankfully a strong woman.
I was born in Bethnal Green Hospital and raised in Old Ford Road, went to Morpeth Secondary School. Cheryl (Rita) used to babysit for a girl in my school who lived in the flats above Kelly’s pie & mash shop in Roman Road. Bethnal Green and proud. 👍
In recent years I have not watched an interview for more than 15 minutes. I watched this right through; testament to both Cheryl as the interviewee and Lewis as the interviewer. I’ve been a huge fan of Bucks Fizz / The Fizz and have learned so much from this interview. Thank you!
Isn't she marvelous. I was a kid the night she won the Eurovision in Southeast Ireland. We all sat down and watched the Eurovision as families in those days. The minute her song came on I said to my young parents that that song will win. Then they took off the skirts and my mum put me on her feet and we danced to the song around the sitting on room . Such great memories. Thank you.
I’ve got a 65 year old sister that’s six years older than me that I’ve always adored and Cheryl Baker reminds me so much of her, the way she talks, her friendly confidence, her light hearted tick on the world. I reckon she’s a real solid reliable and loving person, I just feel it. Lovely, and very much like a lot of women from that generation.
I smiled almost throughout watching this interview. Rita is such a humble lady. A warming and compelling personality which doesn't stop beaming from her.
I saw the "Fizz" in Port Talbot in 2020, just before the pandemic started. Cheryl has still got a really powerful voice. Cheryl is very honest and genuine which I really like. It's a shame Bucks Fizz will never reunite.
Cheryl is a really LOVELY person. I worked in a band for 20+yrs, and on one occasion Cheryl was the celeb at a gig we played in about '94 (Tudor Park Hotel - Cheryl was there to auction some autographed pics of Take That, for charity). While Cheryl was kneeling, sorting the pics, I cheekily leapt down next to her for a band-mate to take a pic. Cheryl obligingly leant her head against mine for the pic. 🥰 I'm very proud of that. BTW - I see harmony as the cherry on the cake - it MAKES the song.
Cheryl’s ace, lovely woman 😊. A very entertaining and insightful interview, Cheryl never seems to tire of answering questions she must get asked lots about her career. Thank you as well for being so sensitive with your line of questioning about the emotional events and allowing Cheryl to volunteer the information.
I love that when she talks about her babies she says, 'when our babies' it's a precious inclusion for a husband and not many women do it. Love her. xxx
Brilliant interview, love Cheryl, Great memories of her doing Record Breakers alongside Roy Castle, looks absolutely great, seriously can't believe she is 70
She is actually very lovely i have always liked bucks fizz this is the best interview i have heard with her .. i like her more after this. i remember her much more as a tv star than a singer .. she looks amazing for 70
I still have a cassette of demos I played on (from 1979) with Cheryl singing great lead and BV's, though we were never in the studio at the same time. Nice to see her here.
I always remember in the early-mid 80's, Cheryl appearing unexpectedly on the Simon Bates Radio 1 morning show...for the sole reason that she'd just lost her purse on the London Underground that very morning...!?! Bates in those days had a nationwide listenership of something like 10 million people tuning-in, a huge huge radio show & Cheryl must have either gone in-person or called-in to ask the nation for help in finding her lost purse on the Tube...!!! It was a deserved sign of her star power back then, Radio 1 didn't normally do the unexpected guest or appeals for lost purses but with Cheryl they did..! Forever a good woman & one of the best. 🙏
What a fantastic interview, just love Cheryl Baker, my husband who is not here anymore had such a crush on her. My absolute favourite Bucks Fizz song is Now Those Days Are Gone. Cheryl, I share your hatred of David Van Day, such a creep of a man and in my eyes there will only ever be one Bucks Fizz and that's the original line up. Still listen to your music now. You don't look a day over 50!!
I came across this by accident. This is the best interview with Cheryl Baker I have ever seen. She is so honest and down to earth. I have loved Bucks Fizz from day one and always had a soft spot for Mike Nolan, and when I was younger I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Sadly this never happened lol. Thank you for this, it took me back to different places in my life, in good times and bad. A great watch.
I wasn’t a huge fan of ‘Making Your Mind Up’, but it was a good Eurovision song, a deserved winner, and their subsequent hits were brilliant. Cheryl, Jay and Mike are still making some great music. ‘My Camera Never Lies’ is my favourite - it’s quirky and a brilliant arrangement. Cheryl is really down to earth and thoroughly likeable person and always does great interviews. My late nephew had similar injuries to Mike from an accident when he was 12 and it affected his life from then - he sadly died last year aged just 51.
Came across this interview by accident and glad I did, just a brilliant interview, what a great lady I would love to have a pint with her, I have always hated David Van Day and have never met him he has little talent but I hear he cooks a great burger in a van, David Burger Van Day.
I remember her more as a tv presenter she was very very popular i liked her alot she was funny and natural she was perfect for tv she should do it again ..
Enjoyed that! Cheryl was a great presenter, presenting Record Breakers when I was a kid! Very happy and chirpy, and a great friendly personality. I can remember that crash happening, it being in the papers and on the news. Horrific.
The wonderful Cheryl Baker!! My uncle had a copy of Co-co's album! He was an accountant, and I think he'd done some work for their manager, who gave him the album. I'm sure he would have paid him, too. I can't imagine my uncle would have accepted an LP as payment. 😁
Great interview, i love Bucķs Fizz,The Fizz, its good news they are going to keep singing with 2 new members.Lewis didnt ask cheryl about when Bobby McVay joined the group he really looked like hed been their for years.❤
Cheryl Baker, national treasure! Always true to herself, honest and hard working. Absolutely love the legend that she is ❤
Agreed. she's lovely.
Always has a soft spot for Cheryl she has a twinkle in her eyes still lovely person and down to earth.
You're not alone, mate. She's a lovely person.
Back-door fun eh? ;-)
@@phil19852010 who, you and another man?
A fantastic interview, allowing Cheryl to answer in detail, in her own time. First album I ever bought in 1981.
Oh, wow !
Great interview. She's a lovely genuine lady. Hard to believe she is now 70 years old. Thanks.
Can't believe it either😮

@@AGNETHAFALTSK0G 😳?? What’s all this got to do with the original comment ??
Lovely lady yes, but she’s had SURGERY , hence why she doesn’t look her age! 😉
Cheryl Baker is a national treasure.
100% agree with Cheryl my baby died and I was in a ward with new Mums it was horrendous so I will support her charity when I can ❤
I grew up just down the road from Cheryl (Rita) and my Sister was at School with her. Can tell she's still a Bethnal Green girl at heart! ❤
I was raised in Cyprus Street
I lived in Morpeth Street. A mate of mine lived on Old Ford Road but we always went in through the Cyprus Street entrance! 😊

The whole Bucks Fizz journey should be a movie. 😎
i worked with Cheryl Baker twice - the most genuine, decent and trustworthy person.
I have always believed that, so thank you for saying it. She once came to my work place, but I had a day off grr
Everything that Van Day isnt.

Lovely lady with honest answers especially about David Van Day and the Bucks Fizz trademark dispute .
An amazing interview, pure, authentic, moving, interesting and what a fabulous, lovely lady. I was riveted x

I have so much respect for Lewis. He’s always so smartly dressed and clearly does his research and shows nothing but respect to his guests.
Yet he forgot what her first song was with her original band...
@@westminsterwatcher5152 he is clearly much younger than her fans would be and even Cheryl couldn’t remember it!
