Bucks Fizz we're one of the biggest selling groups of the 80s in the UK, how sad the clearly when they turned around, none of them knew who she was, despite looking exactly the same now as she did then..........shame on them, that's all I can say......fan or not, to not know who she is says a lot about them....

I didn't know Jay Aston was paralysed down one side!!! I saw her at the Bandstand last month. Just before she went on stage and she called to me, commenting on my 7" platform boots (they all did.) She seems alright and she is still sexy and in great shape- they all are!!! I was conceived the year they won Eurovision and she is in better shape than me.
It's probably me getting old but Tom Jones and Jay Aston I recognise. Danny Foster I have heard of. So who are the other three judges passing comment on these two seasoned performers then? What exactly have they done to earn their keep because I couldn't name or recognise one of them!

Didn't think much of the song she had to sing, either.
The great Tom Jones exhibited a great lack of taste by making a tired joke about liking the soda pop sharing the same name as the group Bucks Fizz. Not being chosen was bad enough without Jones' presentation of bad form.

She's got a new single Great Expectations out soon, which she sung live on (Formerly of, yawn) Bucks Fizz's Paradise Regained tour last year, from a Marilyn Monroe themed project, I gather.
+ZanduckTV2 PLUS ONE! When We Were Young was one of Bucks Fizz's most under-rated songs IMHO. Interesting point you made about Cheryl Baker being the more recognised member of this group - she was also the oldest if I remember correctly.
Cheryl is the most recognised member of Bucks Fizz, because she has done quite a lot of TV presenting. However I always thought that Jay Aston was the most charismatic member of Bucks Fizz. I couldn't take my eyes off her when I'd see Bucks Fizz on TV.
I was 2 years old when Bucks Fizz won Eurovision and I've known who she is since I was about 5 so there's no excuse for these peopl not knowing who she is.
The problem for me here is that if the singer has a certain genre of music that suits them and none of the judges warm to that then the singer really doesn't stand a chance!
I so wanted Jay to go through but the choice of song was totally wrong. Don't know what she was thinking! Very controversial choice for Danny that just didn't pay off!
Wow she has aged well..but she hasnt got a lead voice..she has a backing vocals alto voice..Bucks Fizz in the day wernt known for their great vocals..they just had a pop package that sold records..a little bit like nowadays in fact..ah well nothing changes..fair balls for going on this though..even if it was to get some publicity..
Buck Fizz well the only thing i liked about bucks fizz was Jay Aston, i thought she was one sexy woman but as a live singer i have to but my heart to one side and be brutal with the truth, there was nothing special about here voice and i feel unless you got that special something vocally its not going to happen. I feel it must be a big come down to go on the VOICE and get turned down, it cant do your ego any good specially when you used to ride the charts at number one. i feel it was a gamble not worth making going on this show.
It's true that her voice doesn't sound amazing, but you don't have to be a great singer to be successful; look at Madonna/Britney Spears/Miley Cyrus. But it probably means that you have to be a lot more flamboyant to mask this deficiency.
