Kevin, you are wise. Most people are not this self-reflective, and you are doing them a huge service whether they realize it or not. The conclusions you have drawn have been my experience as well and I am highly self-reflective. You sir, are, legit!
The woman that runs Glucose Goddess/Glucose Revolution also says that sleeping during the sun down/ sun up hours can immensely change your blood glucose without changing what you actually eat. It is almost like your body is in survival mode if you are sleeping until noon. Sleep is a fascinating subject. I have sleep apnea so I tend to need a lot of sleep but I wonder if I shifted my sleep earlier, I would have better luck being rested.
I’ve had mine a week, really happy with the insight it gives me, as you say it’s a case of augmenting the way I’m feeling in myself, with the data that the ring gives me
Love this! I've used it for several years, and noticed the same things. Alcohol (even a little) was the biggest eye-opener for me. Thanks for the video!
These devices stopped me being a sensory human. I never used the data for anything actionable. I got rid of it. I consistently sleep at good times and feel good the next day. That's as simple as I keep it. My life feels so much more healthy without these devices. I drink when I'm thirsty, wake up naturally, eat slightly more if my body needs it. I don't need calories, water bottles with times on it sleep devices. Etc I'm an animal that listens to my bodys language.
Not everyone can rely on their body to tell them the right information about themselves. Those with difficult childhoods for instance have a hard time reading their own bodies. I can’t and don’t know when my body feels “right” and haven’t for most of my life. I don’t know what a proper sleep feels like. Some people just don’t know what good sleep is supposed to feel like. My guess is the devices are for people who grew up with situations like that. Count yourself blessed.
Excellent explanation. I have had my Oura Ring for about two years. I don't wear jewelry; however, the Oura Ring and my Apple Watch changed that. I bought both in 2022. I purchased the Oura ring to track my sleep; it's been beneficial. The price was a bit high; however, I was willing to pay the price if it could assist me in improving my sleep. It actually has. Hopefully, I'll have more years of use before replacing it.
I just ordered my Ring 3 and im so excited to start using it especially after watching this video! Can you make a video on how you use your oura ring to get the most out of it? Im particularly interested in sleep tracking.
Something unusual that I've learned to do in regards to caffeine is to use it to its fullest by limiting my intake I have two or three caffeine days a week and the rest I do decaf. Those days, I am a lot more creative and can get a lot more done and I choose to write scripts for TH-cam videos I just don't get the same kick if I have a cup every morning
I’m worried I have some kind of undiagnosed heart rate issue like POTS. I think having consistent data will be helpful. Sometimes even my heart will flutter and then pump really hard for a while. Every time I bring it up at the doctor, they give me a monitor for 24 hours but it doesn’t happen during that small window so they say it’s nothing. I think having something like this on me all the time will help me get the data I need.
I've been looking at the Oura off and on for two years now and at the beginning of the year had a renewed interest in it mainly for the sleep tracking. I was fairly certain you had one on in your gardening videos and always wondered how well it worked for you! I was hesitant because I wasn't sure it would hold up to all the gardening aspects but now knowing it is indeed what you wear maybe I'll finally pull the trigger.
Great video Kevin, deciding between the watch and the ring. On another note, what specific industries would you target for start-ups in today’s age? Thanks in advance.
I struggle with sleep too. If you haven't already, I recommend checking out the book Why We Sleep by Dr. Matthew Walker. Very interesting info. I had just been looking into getting an Oura Ring in the last couple of weeks. Thanks for your video and the link 🙂!
How long does it last on a single charge? My only issue with these products is needing to find a time to charge them which of course means you're not wearing them
I guess 🤔 I’m going to charge and start using my Oura Ring again tonight. I’ve had 2, but stopped using any “health data apps”. Thanks for the reminder that the data is in my power to make choices about and doesn’t have to be another “to do”

"Cruisin for a bruisin" haven't heard that phrase in a long time!
😂
@@kevinmespiritu it's also still weird to get to the end of a video *without* hearing "good luck in the garden and keep on growing" 🥰

A friend told me that every hour of sleep before midnight is the equivalent of 2 hours of sleep.

Glad to hear you've gotten value out of it too
How does the oura ring compare with the apple watch when it comes to sleep tracking?

I'm curious how the 3 is - I believe I have the 2 and they just updated it!
I thought for a second you were talking about the ring that allegedly changed colors based are your mood.
🤣
THROWBACK
Interesting. I still think the price point is way too high.
Very fair

Fascinating - I will try this out
interesting, I've seen these a lot lately. The subscription model makes me reluctant though, paying monthly for a physical product is just bleh
I'd be annoyed to do it too unless I was grandfathered in on the older pricing :/
Very interesting. I’ve been wanting to try this.
Sadly celicus has Sucralose (Splenda) and it affects the gut.
I agree on the timing of sleep, this has been my experience too.
I find it interesting to see the random times my heart rate increases. I'm also skeptical of this step counter
I use phone for step counter and sync it to the Oura
