I’ve been priming my insulated containers every since I learned how thermal dynamics worked in elementary school. My contribution to my Boy Scout skills sharing topic was the process of priming these insulated containers and I became an instant hero to all the other guys, lol. My old vintage Stanley coffee container keeps that coffee hot as hell for a solid 24hrs if I prime it with boiling water directly off the stove top and let it sit for about 10 mins. Coleman canvas commercial food transporters are amazing at holding temperature both hot and cold when primed. Held solid ice cubes for 4 days after laying a brick of dry ice inside for a couple hours ahead of packing. Priming the containers is the absolute keys to holding temps literally to almost double the rated times if done correctly. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

I’ve been using a thermos for meals for a while. I also use a soft lunch box with some blue ice, and I toss it in my pack.

I have been using an older model for years, I love it. I also use it for hiking and cycling. Who wants to waste time cooking?

I've never thought about before. Awesome! I might have to get one now lol! I generally prefer freezer bag cooking. It's great but this would be more for shorter day hikes.

I thought everyone knew to prime the thermos first??

It amazing how many small things some people take for granted. I assumed everyone knew to temp (prime) their thermal flasks first. Clearly not.

“In 2002, Stanley was purchased by Seattle, WA based Pacific Market International (PMI). Stanley's manufacturing facilities were then moved to China”. Thermos is also made in China. Wish we could bring these brands back as I’m sick of buying chinese now and will avoid it like the plague.

Would be great to see some non-Chicom competitive options.

Does the food jar can be nested inside the Stanley adventure 24oz cook set?

It's not advisable to bump them against each other. A small dent might make it lose the heat retention capacity

It will hold cold, far more longer than heat.

Bigger please. 24oz would do it. Tired of living in a small man's world.

Making my own funiture now. Can't buy a new truck because the roof is so low I have to drag part of my neck and head across the upper part of the doorway. I'd have neck problems long before it would be paid off. I now drive a van as I can easily get in and out.
14 ozs? Maybe for the 1st course...
