First update of the year. Sorry for the delay and audio, new software updates, when it rains it pours! I want to say thank you again for everyone visiting the channel and for helping me hit 300!
I’m glad TH-cam placed your video in rotation. I noticed the side Hedges are much taller than the front Hedges. Did you cut them down to that size because I saw your video you planted the plants at the same time. The reasoning behind the question is because I’m thinking of planting the exact same plant of yours!!!! Great Follow up Video by the way!!
I had to move them back after neighbor and city complained. I wasn't able to save much of the root system, so they had to start over, but they did survive. So 1 died and they are 2-3 feet shorter, but they'll all catch up to the desired size in the end. Thanks for the question and viewing!
Great video!! I can't tell you how much these updates mean to me. I planted 24 Cheyenne Privet every 3 feet in a straight line last July. They grew about a foot on average to between 3 to 4 feet as they were bought in 3 gallon pots. I just trimmed them down to about 2 feet again a week ago so all are at about 24 inches high. They are just starting to bud in the last two weeks (zone 5 in WI). Based on your experience, these privet should start taking off soon right and when they do they should start to connect together as long as I keep trimming the tops correct? I want them thick on the bottoms first then I want height second (about 7 feet high) to keep out my horrible neighbors next door. Do you think this is the correct path for what I want? Any advice will be helpful. Thanks.
Yes, from what I have seen, trimming early on is the best plan, so you are on the right plan. They will have a quick take off soon, especially if they are getting plenty of water, so be careful they don't get away from you to quickly. I will add that you have planted them further apart then recommended, so they might take a little longer to connect together but it will still be very fast. I'm glad my videos are helpful and think you're on the road to success!

Yes indeed! Always nice to see you Dale!
nice!
maybe you shoul trim the tops in piramidal shape to make the bottom bushier.
Yes you are right, this is their first growth first of the year. I will continually trim the tops to promote bottom growth for here on out.
