    Hey all, just a heads up there is a small typo at 02:33 . Under Body Modifier it should read: If limb: BM = 0.50. Limb damage does only 50% and as stated in the previous section. Thank you to Nova for catching that! I originally was going to upload a new video to correct this but didn't want to erase all the comments below of people sharing their build ideas/info and how they rank the enchantments so I figured I could pin this comment instead.
    Under the video description you will now find downloadable copies of the formulas and graphs. Feel free share them in your discord/online communities or use them in your vids. No need to link or credit - just grind out the game next play test and have the best time you can with your friends is all I ask of you in return.

    This is a great video, the only thing lacking, is like 2 or 3 examples, showing the numbers and outcomes of your calculations, given different inputs. That would solidify the whole explanation for me, since at this point it doesn't really show you what different weapons can do, with different low strength stats, and the higher outliers too.
    If you know of a video, or can make one yourself, that'd be sweet!

    I saw another video where it was (WD+AD)(1+PPB) opposed to your ((WD))*(1+PPB)+AD). One where the Additional Damage is scaled by the Physical Power Bonus, and another where it isn't.
    As a rogue with low base PPB, I'm just trying to figure out when I should value Weapon Damage over Additional, and when that relationship switches. I wonder which equation is right.
    Edit: In either case, top notch video Ryan. Really. Making all this information easy to understand and all in under 6 minutes is impressive.

    3:16 according to the wiki agility is a flat bonus to movespeed, not a percentage. so 1 agility is usually 1-3 movespeed (usually 1 movespeed or less for most classes). not 1%. if it is 1% you should get in touch with the wiki guys.

  • @RuinedDarkAndDarker
    @RuinedDarkAndDarker ปีที่แล้ว

    I think it's worth noting that even among physical damage dealing classes there are different priorities. The polar opposites I'm thinking of are Barbarian and Rogue. A Barb may land a few hits with high base Weapon Damage while a Rogue lands a lot of hits with low base Weapon damage. Which changes how the two classes value flat vs percentage scaling. I still feel like flat scaling is really good for Barb but it's amazing for Rogue/Ranger.

    Good video but there is something to be said for the classes under 15 strength. For instance rogue actually wants additional physical damage instead of weapon damage since they get the negative multiplier to it. Ontop of classes like barb who reduce that multiplier by another 25% making additional physical way better. Also additional physical adds to the damage of rupture meaning for that rupture hit you get 2x the bonuses of the stat.

      Hello Jason! Phys power and Magic power apply to skills (most of them) separately and then their damage bonus is added in as Additional Damage, that way their increase isn't applied twice. Love it now please tell me this. Does the strength stat do anything for rangers bow damage?

    • @ryan6daysaweek
      @ryan6daysaweek  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Anomaly! Ranger bow damage is physical so the strength stat would provide damage though the Physical Power Bonus % similar to that of weapon damage. Right now, Rangers start with 10 strength, so adding a strength point here would mean a +3% increase to your weapon damage. This actually will now bring your Ranger into the next strength/physical power bracket which starts at 11 strength - meaning any additional points of strength increase your weapon damage by +2% until the next bracket. Once at 15%, each point of strength now increases your bow damage by +1%. These are the exact same calculations you would use if your ranger was using a melee weapon, the only difference really is in the On-Hit calc where you have to factor in Projectile resistance as well.

    True damage does benefit from headshot bonus. I tested this myself on the training dummie during the last playtest. a 4 true physical damage pants gave me +6 damage when doing a headshot as ranger with longbow. It's possible other weapons dont benefit from the headshot damage. I also had the ranger's headshot damage perk on which may have changed the outcome as well.

    Ok now, attributes is a much worse stat than + weapon dmg.
    Weapon dmg can roll up to +5 on some gear pieces.
    For strength's bonus to dmg to even be comparable to +wpdmg your weapon would need to have 100 base dmg.

    • @ryan6daysaweek
      @ryan6daysaweek  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Veradux! This is true, if you are going for just the damage number in your basic attacks then the weapon damage enchant would be preferred over attribute enchantments. I really value the additional bonuses like hp and movement/attack speed provided by attributes which is why it sits higher on my ranking. I play fighter on a team though so enchantments are all situational and up to the build!

    • @Guts3570
      @Guts3570 ปีที่แล้ว

      focusing only on attack damage is a mistake, because there are classes that can kill you before you are able to do damage to them. if you only stack damage on your gear, you'll be easily one shot by equally geared players. maximizing strength means you can still kill most players in 1 to 2 hits, but you'll also have enough HP to survive way more than 1 or 2 hits from enemy players. if your gear has all attributes instead of strength, you'll not only have all the benefits of strength, but also significantly more movement speed, attack speed, magic resistance, and interaction speed. its unquestionably the best enchantment, and a full set of +3 all attributes gear would probably be the best gear set in the game, and also cost a fortune.

    According to the formula it's much more beneficial to increase Additional Damage instead of Weapon Damage for fast attacking weapons or for classes that has low STR. And vice versa for Slow attacking and high base damage weapons with 15+ STR.
    As for Axe/Dagger throwing builds you want True Damage. Especially for poison dagger builds, it drastically increases damage.
    So in my mind for roges, mages and rangers you want to invest in Additional Damage and at least 15 STR total.
    Also I am kinda confused with negative Resistance Reduction. If the formula changes to negative, then we have downside by having any form of True Damage.
    P.S. in my opinion the resistance part should be (1 - (Resistance - Penetration) / 100). This way if you have Penetration > Resistance you get increased damage in formula and no negative sign problem.

Would be better if it weren’t infested with TH-camrs desperate for attention and if the devs kept the numbers hidden imo. Otherwise people who have nothing better to do just analyze the meta and ruin the game.

      Hey Jeremy, sorry if you feel like this has ruined gaming for you. One of the best parts about playing any kind of gear based pvp(ve) game is creating cool builds to try out, even if they don't work! I know from first hand experience that it's really hard to piece together something that fits your own unique playstyle without know what the enchantments actually do - so my goal is just to provide more information and spark some interesting discussion from the community. I don't think I have set the meta at all from this video haha, so I wouldn't worry about that haha. Hope you give Dark and Darker another shot in Playtest 5, it is a fantastic game!
