I think because high-end brands like LV is a status symbol for many people. Like in China it is hard to obtain designer items because most people cannot afford it. Therefore if you own one, you are “special” compared to most people in China, because it looks fashionable and expensive, and you will stand out in a good way. Especially if you’ve never been able to afford a designer item, being able to buy your first high-end brand item feels good and some people get addicted to feeling “special” so they buy a lot more. Just my opinion.

Actually, Chinese buys most LV of any country in the world with 40% of the LV are expected to be purchased by a Chinese person in 2025. I personally own 4 LV purses and wallets and a few Chanel and YSLs. But every Chinese I know does also own at least 1 fake LV though 😅

I personally hate branded products. If they were the quality for the price maybe. But so often you're just paying for the label and the quality is worse than KMart. Ok, maybe not Kmart, maybe Bed Bath and Beyond quality.

I think because high-end brands like LV is a status symbol for many people. Like in China it is hard to obtain designer items because most people cannot afford it. Therefore if you own one, you are “special” compared to most people in China, because it looks fashionable and expensive, and you will stand out in a good way. Especially if you’ve never been able to afford a designer item, being able to buy your first high-end brand item feels good and some people get addicted to feeling “special” so they buy a lot more. Just my opinion.
