Advice for improvement of sleep :1) it takes 6 hours for coffee to get out of your blood system. So plan accordingly
2)if. You are a tea drinker before bed, swap caffeine based tea to non caffeine. Tastes the same but doesn't affect your sleep
3)get some quality earplugs, your awareness still functions during the night - by limiting input sound you sleep better.
4)dont watch emotional movies or TV shows before you going to bed - they get your brain hyped and it's harder to fall asleep like that
5)don't eat late - after 8 pm. The food will give you energy during the nights and wake you up.
6)choose the right food - chocolate, etc will soike your energy levels before bed :)
To have a productive day you first must have a productive night

@EaqIe at night your bpdy releases HGH that uses fat for energy, so many studies showed how late night eating caused more fat storing than if the same calories were eaten in the morning or afternoon. Circadian rhythm.

It doesn't take caffeine 6 hours to get out of you blood. It takes 6 hours for the caffeine levels to drop by 50%, and then another to drop by another 50% so you have an exponetially decreasing amount of caffeine in your blood. But otherwise you are totally correct, plan accordingly before drinking coffee ;-)

I liked so much your idea of "sleeping is the most important thing in the day". Very mindfull. In fact, it's a precious thing, a great sign of selfcare and respect.

0:46 If you go to sleep later, you dont miss out on your first sleep cycle. You first sleep cycle actually moves up. You still have a lot of "deep sleep"/SWS if you go to sleep later. In fact, the longer you stay awake without napping/sleeping, the stronger the sleep pressure and the more SWS you will have in the first cycle. Sleep deprivation studies clearly show this.

I've had chronic insomnia for 7 years and spent my last few years exploring the remedies and sharing my experiments on TH-cam. Realized that sleep is an immensely complicated and fragile part of our makeup. There are the basics like this sientist explains like sleep hygeniene but then there are hidden infections, toxicity, anxiety, organ issues, heavy metals and a ton of other things that are somewhat hidden from even very qualified doctor's eye and it can torture us for decades. I had to become my own doctor and learn a ton from other disciplines like Traditional Chinese Medicine to make a dent in my sleep quality. This is a very useful brief, however, we must know the basics before we attempt the more complicated remedies or worse - follow some really poor myths online.

Sleep is similar to the waking state..
In the waking state, thoughts come 'automatically' in our minds. For example, i myself don't know what thought will come into my mind say after 10 minutes, 20 minutes etc.
When thoughts come automatically to our mind, it 'seems' to us that we have consciouly 'thought' them.
Similarly, while sleeping also thoughts come 'automatically' to our minds.

IDK if I agree with this. Yes REM sleep is good for the brain but not exactly in this way. When you go into REM sleep your brain basically purges itself of unwanted chemicals the best that it can. You do dream during REM but you'll never remember that. The dreams you remember are in-between the REM cycles. Your cognitive brain is paying attention during those times.
