2ばん: I was thrown off by the "この2さつはいいです", at first I understand everything, students could only borrow a limit of 5 books and teachers 10, but that last statement, I understood it as "These 2 books are good" as in I'll only borrow these 2 books... That part really had me..
@@mochirealjapanese3430 thanks for the clarification. I'm here still trying to understand when "いいです" means "Good" vs when it means the opposite. However I think that understanding will only come by time and practice.
I cried at the 3rd question when I became aware of my brain understanding the entire dialogue. Sometimes we study so hard and those moments when you're fully present and listening without analyzing too much, things click and its so validating. Thank you so much!
Really wish I’d know about your channel before I sat the JLPT in July. The listening part I failed spectacularly 🤣🙈 Hopefully I do better this time thanks to your channel 🙏
5/5 やった---I started learning in January this year and even in April this kind of videos would still give me trouble, but now, 8months into my study I am answering very confidently and understand all key information
my exam is tomorrow I currently have: 21/32 in Grammar and Reading mock exam 23/35 in vocabulary I havent done the listening mock exam yet I'll do it later today but I got a 4/5 on this practice
Thanks! I'm finally understanding these conversations. The only confusing one was the second, because even with your translation, it really sounded like he only wanted 2 books of the 7.
This channel is a godsend 😩 I've got good resources for basic vocabulary thanks to genki textbooks and the Satori reader app, but it's pretty difficult to find sources for basic sentences with which to apply them to, thank you!
Arigatoo gozaimashita! I really liked this video. It taught me to focus on numerals. It also taught to be more subconscious of the context, because it will change, iiyoo gozaimas! Joosone!
These are great! I had a hard time with the first two for some reason. I think the first one i just didnt understand the vocab for stamps and postcards so it was easy to get lost. And the second one i still dont quite get. He clearly says ok 2 is good. But the answer was 5. Maybe he meant 2 is good to take away? Anyone have any insight on that?
I'm also still confused by this but I think you're right, the phrasing could maybe translate more loosely in context as "don't worry about these 2 books, then". The literal translation seems to rely on inferred meaning. If someone said "these 2 are good" where I'm from, it would definitely mean "I just want these two books" so it got me in a twist hah
I kinda have the same question since, for me "ii desu" would mean "those 2 are OK", or, "I'll take those 2 then". Maybe in that context it means: Those two are OK for you to keep since, at the beginning of the audio, he wanted to take 7 so would not really make sense to go from 7 to only 2 given that he can borrow up to 5. Could someone clear that "ii desu" up for us?
Same for me. I chose 2 as i thought いいです meant he wanted only 2 at the end. I can understand words but sometimes still have difficulties to understand the meaning depending on the context.
These videos are super helpful! Could you please play the audio twice before giving the answer though please? one time is just not enough to absorb all the info.
Thank you for this video, Mochi Sensei. I am a bit confused about 2, if he said “these two are fine”, doesn’t that mean he borrowed two books? I don’t get how it’s 5😢
Got them all right, but not going to lie I have to listen to the audio many times before answering. This is something I won't have the luxury come JLPT exam.
Me in 4.5 month of learning by bringing on anime and adding duolingo can say I didn't so much look for how many I got right but rather how much I can understand and definitely with understanding level I understood about 75% of words and was able to figure out the books part especially counting books being gosatsu from the 3rd live action death note movie when shinigami beppo was asked how many books his answer was rokusatsu so the counting books is easy and definitely duolingo and binging on anime and pop culture does work along with subscribing to you and others
