Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Reason" is the fan-song for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary. I can't even begin to describe how proud I am of them. They're flexing their rock and vocal muscles, while all three rappers make an appearance. InSomnia might be lifting them up, but they should know, they are also carrying us. Happy 6th anniversary, Dreamcatcher! Can you imagine this song live? With InSomnia (fandom name) going Whoooo-whoooaaa and them singing over it? 😊 I wouldn't be surprised if the animations were done by a fan, I seem to recognize the style. Whoever did them, they did a great job. I see the book from the Nightmare arc, the mask from Scream, the gun from R.o.S.E Blue, the gagged bust from Boca, the cup from Odd Eye, the hand through the mirror from Good Night and the clock from Piri. Musically, I am in heaven. I'm a metalhead and I love the song. AND THAT RIFF! 🤘🎸 Obviously the song is an absolute anthem!
I love your reaction! Thank you for a Dreamcatcher reaction! I was fortunate to hear this song live when they recently toured, it was awesome! Can’t wait to see more Dreamcatcher breakdowns.
Thanks for checking out Dreamcatcher's Reason! This was released for Dreamcatcher's 6th anniversary and is a love letter to their fandom, InSomnia. DC has had a difficult road to get to where they are, due to rock being looked down upon in Korea, but they've stuck to their concept and have cultivated a fairly large international fanbase as well as some fans domestically. You'll find if you decide to dig into more of their music that the rock influence is present in all of their title tracks to varying degrees. Some of their title tracks lean more towards metal while others lean more heavily towards EDM/electronic but all of them have that touch of rock. Their B-sides, on the other hand span various different genres including R&B, EDM, Trap, Jazz, Reggae, Rock, Punk, Funk, and so much more. I'm not sure where you are but they just wrapped up a second US tour in less than a year and I expect they'll be back sometime next year as well. I've never had the opportunity to attend one of their concerts, but I've seen footage from several and they're amazing in person. If you want to dig into some more of their music, then the song that started there towards the end of your video is one I'd recommend. It's called Scream and is the beginning of their Dystopia Trilogy which talks about online hate & bullying, tells haters to shut their boca (mouth), and the realization that social media is just a sweet lie cover a darker (dystopian) reality. The follow up songs to Scream are Boca & Odd Eye. I hope you check out more of their work, they're pretty amazing. Not many groups can put out a song that makes you want to rock out and cry at the same time.
Yay! Thanks for the reaction. Dreamcatcher is the most incredible group. If you like this, you will love their discography, it is top tier. Reason is a fan song, 6 years into their very difficult journey as a bit of a black sheep Kpop group (as they are the face of rock in Kpop!). I highly recommend checking out a live stage from their tour of this song, it’s so powerful 🥺❤️🔥
Welcome to the dreamworld, Logan! If you like these vibes, you'll probably like a lot of their music. I hope you enjoy it on your own time, even if you don't react to it on the channel. It means so much to us fans of Dreamcatcher that you were so moved by this piece even without knowing anything about the band going into it. DC actually is a _very_ underrated band in South Korea. They've only recently truly become popular, because their sound isn't what people "wanted" out of Kpop girl groups. But they stuck to their guns, and they've had a huge influence on the industry despite it all. Now they're enjoying the fruits of their labors with true recognition in their industry. That's where their lyrics are coming from in "Reason." They _were_ beaten down by their own industry, criticized heavily for not being feminine enough and not following the trends. But they persevered through it, and now they're acknowledging that as they've ascended to fame, they also have to bear the responsibility for their public image and the influence they have.
dreamcatcher \:D/ it's their 6th anniversary song, a gift to their fans... the reason they exist. dreamcatcher was born from failure and with a second chance to 'catch' their dreams, they were going to make music their way without rules or boundaries. that's why they go under the radar within the kpop industry but have a fairly big following internationally. they are knowing for infusing rock/metal influences in different ways to varying degrees, but their discography really encompasses all genres of music. they will have a comeback with a new song in about 2-3 weeks so hope you can give that a breakdown as well. a few of your buddies have already reviewed some of their songs but more from yourself would be welcomed ;) you just missed them in the states(assuming that's where you are). they put on a really good show, very different from kpop or rock concerts. they usually come once a year to a region for their own concerts, but might have side shows in between like kpop/rock festivals.
Thanks for checking out DC. Their discography is diverse but you can pretty much expect these kinds of live band + electronic mixes, including their b-sides. Being a small company, they don't outsource their music production, so everything is done by 2-3 producers in-house.
if Her Vocal Reach your Heart and Soul , that's Normal , She is above Human , she is a Legendary Dreamcatcher , she is above wizards , angels , fairies and all beings
That was a great breakdown. Thank you for checking out dreamcatcher, and hoping to see more. Oh, and they will release a new mini album on May 24th so you may want to check that as well. Not only their songs incorporate rock/metal elements, but they also debut with a 'nightmare' storyline that lasts through 7 singles/mini albums.
This is a great song all around (one of my favorites of theirs) but lyrically it can't really be understood if you haven't been a fan of them for a long(er) time. In the lyrics and music video a lot of older Mv's and aspects of their journey are referenced so it may be a little odd to new listeners. Anyways, I loved your reaction and hope you get to do more reactions to their content in the future!
Yes, thank you more coming soon! Here are the reactions for Scream: th-cam.com/video/0tWW8IUI9y8/w-d-xo.html Odd Eye: th-cam.com/video/w1O8Yu8-i74/w-d-xo.html
@@thebillboard500club The context involves this group's entire career, spanning back in time from before they were even DreamCatcher. They are thanking the fans for sticking with them through all the hardship. Without knowing their entire story, you miss a LOT of the significance of the lyrics and the visuals of Reason. Five out of these seven women used to be a different group with a completely different sound. Things went wrong for them, completely out of their control, literally no way for them to save the situation. They could have been disbanded and dumped. Fortunately their company CEO liked all of them and had the idea to re-invent them and add two more members to the roster. They re-debuted as DreamCatcher. Every micro-second of this MV means something, it is chock-full of Easter eggs from top to bottom, from songs to performances to behind-the-scenes stuff to their very real struggles as a Rock/ Metal group in very traditional and very conservative Korea. They have had to work and fight and survive their entire career, but unlike all the other groups who must do that, they have the extra burden because of being spurned at the top levels of the industry and by the moneymen. In at least one instance they were literally sabotaged (and likely more times than just that one incident).
When you go in thinking ‘let’s listen to some K-pop’ and this is what hits you in the face 😂
Great reaction.
Dreamcatcher!!!!
hahaha yes 😂 thank you for watching

simple words to describe the MV is, the path from the street busking to the Biggest Concert yet...
That's a fantastic description for the Dreamcatcher MV 😁
😊
🤩
I think this will be weird without context. Oh, well. It's a lead-in, I hope.
Which part would be weird without context?
