      Only reason why asians wouldn't belong in the nba would be due to racism/prejudice. Not enough opportunities given to asians when in comes to sports like basketball and such in America. Lin literally led his team to win state in high school in California and still couldn't get scholarships for college. Showed everyone he could be a presence in college basketball with Harvard yet no teams drafted him.

    I like how Coach Nurse is giving more time to Lin in 4Q when the game solidly in hand...to help build his confidence. I also like how Lowry and FVV are looking for Lin to get him involved in the attack. Really unselfish ball...they need this type of ball to go deep into the playoffs

    As a toronto, raps fan, it's been nice to see Jeremy play in Toronto.. he's honestly been dealt with the best hand in his NBA career. Supporting teammates and coaching staff.. playoffs on the way. I dunno what's been going on mentally with him.. he plays well when it's garbage time.. against bench players. Similar situation last time.. it's def a mental game he has to overcome.

      I think His mission & position is different at Raptors, he isnt a Point Guard again, your coach have plan to recruit him, his mission is changing Kawhi when Kawhi need take rest, Raptors have good PG, so Lin just need take the position and make many many many point to use 3 Point shoot or Driving when duet with Lowry as Assist.. but We know, something happen to his performance.. may be he is still studying his new teammate..

      He IS coming off an injury that cost him an entire year, and probably some of his speed so it's more likely it's physical. But I concede, it could be mental. Years of being told to step aside for Harden, Kobe, Kemba could have made him passive. Proof in the pudding is that his better games (like CHA vs SA) tended to be when the aforementioned stars were out. Could also be systemic/learning the team (since Gasol also had better stats prior to the trade).

      its a blowout game. best to play him alot to beat the monkey off his back. that 3 point shot from the corner hitting the backboard was confidence deflating. i'm thinking lin is getting the yips from the 3 point line. as i said, lin is not a 3 point shooter or a catch and shoot 3 point shooter. his best game is pick and roll or drive to the basket and pass out to an open 3 point man. wish nurse would design a pick and roll plays when lin is in the game. as of right now, Lin isn't getting many minutes during playoff time unless an injury happens to the other guards. his defense is slightly above avg, but his offense has almost become a liability to offset all the defense work he does.

  • @ysshae1987
    @ysshae1987 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Lin has a strong mind of ball ownership for the team. He defences well and always disturbs the opponents from getting the ball. Lin needs more practices to build up confidence of scoring especially 3 pointers. His teammates have been encouraging him very well. Good team building gestures!

    I watched the whole game and think Jeremy is still struggling to fit into raptor. When he checked in 1st & 2nd half, Lowry, Vanvleet, Powell and Siakam were in the court(or some of them) , they were the main ball handlers. You can see Jeremy was just running and trying to get to an open position for shooting but he rarely got a chance. When it came the 4th quarter , he was the ball handler most of the time and other raptors were trying to play pick and roll with him. That's why he played a lot better, not because of garbage time.

    Really give credit to the open and accepting culture the Raptors have created. The coaching and GM really believe in OG, McCaw and Lin by giving them chance to develop even in games where they should have reduced minutes. The Raptors believed in Siakim's ability three years ago.. and now seeing Spicy P blossoming into one of the most improved players in 2018-2019 season. I like how the bench is so supportive whenever Lin makes his shots.. they know Lin is struggling to find his rhythm.

    Point guards are not like Steph curry. Point guards main job is to control the ball, whether it means passing, dribbling or w/e. While scoring is another role, he isn't in a Forward position. His defense remains great, he has 10+ points nights, gets rebounds, but most importantly those assists help the team. he is a team player and he will retire as a under rated guard given how many PG there are. He is doing wayyyyy better than I thought. He's no Yao ming as a center scorer, but he helps his team a LOTTTTTT. Apparently Nurse was trying different combinations in each quarters. 1st and 2nd with the start lineup, Lin plays a shooting guard like OG. while in the 4th quarter he plays his favorite point guard position, just as in the Hawks and Linsanity period. He definitely needs to improve his 3 pointers though. last games' 0/5 was a bummer.

    I liked how aggressive he was tonight. This is what he needs to do more of. Take it aggressively to the hole and make something happen. He's been taking too many threes trying to prove to himself that he's a good three point shooter. If he takes one or two a game that's fine but he really just has to play to his strengths and he'll be fine.

      According to a youtube video posted yesterday, Lin suffered a back injury in January when he was with Atlanta and developed a hitch in his shooting form, and consequently his shooting has gone downhill. Prior to the injury, he was shooting nearly 40% from 3pt range on the season. He and his shooting coach need to figure this out and figure it out quick.

    I am a Lin fan but let's accept the reality: it's NOT about his confidence. He is a veteran and there is barely any room to improve, both physically and mentally. I am happy Raptors gives him a lot of minutes. We should kick back and enjoy his show, and stop holding high expectations.

  • @sportsbookbetting

    since lin has improved his ablity to be a point guard at one time he was a better off the ball player. based on how the raptors are set up he plays best when he is running the point but not where there is tight hard d being played so that is why he is doing better in games when raps are ahead by a lot. lowery is the pg so at this point if lin can only get mins as an off guard knock down shooter he is in trouble because he can shoot his shot has always been streaky and you never know if he is going to make or miss. all he can do is continue to work hard and personally i'm thinking either the bench for GS or China are only options left.

    Lin will have more minutes to play for the rest of regular season games because McCaw was injured on Saturday. Here is what Nurse said about Lin a few days ago:
    "“What am I going do with him? Going to keep throwing him out there and hope he starts making some shots,” Nurse said earlier this week. “That’s it. Keep giving him chances.”
    So Lin needs to recover his shooting slump quickly. You got a coach that is delicate to help you out Lin. Try hard be confident into yourself and let all the negatives out of your head during the game.

    There are only 6 games left and Lin better recovers his shooting slump; otherwise he will be benched for good in the playoff. Lin is officially 3rd string PG position in Raptors. In the playoff the starters will play more minutes than the 2nd unit players; so if you are listed as a player that plays in the garbage times, likely you don't have a chance to play in the playoff. I am very sure that if every game in the playoff series is tight, then Lin will not have a chance to participate.

  • @weycool4681
    @weycool4681 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems like Lin hesitates a bit more lately. When he first joined the Raptors, he would attack and cut naturally. He trusts his basketball instinct. Now Lin is looking to set plays and it's affecting his natural instinct. Part of the reason is Lin is usually with bench unit + Lowry... so defense is more focused on the guards (as OG and McCaw post no offensive threat). I hope Lin will be become more comfortable shooting threes.. his first three attempt off a perfect ball movement (wide open three) was horrible. :(
