WOW!! This song brought back A-LOT of memories.. I was in this musical at my church back in the 90s.. Then in 2015 or so our church did this musical again.. I was able to help with it.. I think I still have pictures some place.. This was one of my favorite musicals that our church did :)
I use to put my roller skates on and pop my Down by the Creek Bank tape in my tape player, and roll and sing to this song. Its fun to teach my own son the song now.
I was thinking about songs I learned at vacation bible school in the 80’s and this song was one of my favorites. I could have sworn we sung Purple Gatorade, oh well, happy memories nonetheless. 💜🎵

Wonderful! All good mothers understand imaginative kids. But of course, I have seen (and you have too) those "spiritual" parents who try to kill that imagination, thinking it is "lying" and "foolishness" bound in the heart of a child... They use the rod of correction, to drive it far from them... And then the kids grow up, unable to amount to much... because it takes an imagination to succeed.
blah blah blah. I grew up in just such a home. And now my husband of almost 24 years and I run our own business from our full-time home on Kauai (Hawaii). If that's your definition of not amounting to much... :eye roll:
First time I've heard the song since I was a kid. I'm 46 and still knew every word! Loved the Down by the Creekbank album!
Same here!
Ditto! Also 46 as I type this :)
