Linda, I love your beautiful, v-neck sweater. The Q & A session was fun. Your railings are spectacular! They add so much, the perfect finishing touch. The California, mansion was gorgeous inside and out. Such a treat to “visit”. Real grass in the Easter basket is a cute idea. Will enjoying watching it grow and seeing what you add to the design. Sorry about mean comments. You don’t deserve that kind of treatment. Unfortunately, there are lots of mean people out there. You’re the best!
Best fun item in my garden: BIRD BATH. 🕊️The robins splash away, little yellow finch sip water daintily and even the wasps have a drink. It brings me joy❤️
Linda, “Cottage on the Hill” looks fabulous! You’ve inspired me to practice my creativity in my gardening arena. Also, sharing your gardening tools is a life saver. Be blessed!
Oh how that mower brings back memories! Back in the 60’s, my mother & Dad had one when they lived in Florida to cut their St Augustine grass that they planted themselves with many plugs. Mama said that was the best mower & made the lawn look so clean cut!
Love you Linda and Stewart ❤ just wondering why Stewart isn't mentioned or credited anywhere in the video description? The relationship between the two of you just MAKES this channel so charming. It wouldn't be the same without him!
The sweetest thing that has happened the last 2 years is I have rabbits using my yard as the safe place for their babies. I am just careful about where I water my plants. Sweet little rabbit families. Makes me smile.
I love a total mix of lavender. The darkest jewel tones are my favorite. I haven't been able to find the Indigo Frost agapanthus in my area. It looks gorgeous. When you were holding the pepper you picked, there is a shot of the neighbors house on the other corner. I just want to go over there and put two large pots of anything on the two brick pillars. Your garden would inspire me to add something to mine. And when your backyard is done... yes... lets go see Stwearts yard, and you can help him make a sanctuary where he lives.
I don’t want to Pat myself on the back but the moment you said you were putting grass on the hill I said she’s gonna get a push mower I hope you don’t mind but I’m living through you vicariously ,respect the mower.
Question of the day: I like the very dark purple and the light lavender varieties and I especially like them planted together, the dark shaded variety gives some depth when planted with the light lavender! 😍
Ah! We loved our hand propelled mower in our home in Oakland, Ca in 1999 ….. 😊we established a “ lawn” on which our sons played. And my husband built a rock wall with river rock on the slope below. I planted the rock garden with the help of a friend and neighbor. The property had a slope to the sidewalk and he created this when he was laid off in early 2001 while searching for a job. Our friends and neighbors said it was the wall that scotch built! 😂 the rock garden still stands today! I have fond memories of the non-mother mower!
Linda, An affordable medium sized glass greenhouse, with a black frame, would blend in well & be very practical in your back yard. It would also be a beautiful focal point year round .
A fun thing in the garden for me is when I I thought a otto luyken laurel shrub didn’t survive the winter and then I discover new growth on it with much joy and relief!!
Brings back memories I use to mow lawns just like that a little higher with a mower like that when I was a kid. I use to get blisters from the handle. I'm sure they make them much easier to work with today.
Yes, I have sweet memories of my hard working dairyman Daddy push mowing our lawn- made thick and lush from Very natural fertilizer right outta the cow stalls.. that after application Momma watered-in several times a day to keep it from burning up their efforts. He supplied the neighbors with pickup truck fulls also so no one minded a few days of unmistakable scent for a long season of beautiful green and barefoot delight.
The garden is looking beautiful. You must be delighted with it, and ready to enjoy for summer. Well done. The blueberries have wonderful autumn colour so an added bonus. Enjoy
Hi Linda, I love what you have done with your new garden. The social patio is lovely. I love the flagstone and brick together. I know you are known for your topiaries. But I love the different variety of flowers. Linda I have watched you for years. I think you have such a gift for gardening. Thank you for what you do. Stewart is wonderful at what he does. I feel I know you guys. Take care and keep doing what you do. Kay from California.🌹
I’ve been using a push mover for over 30 years when we bought our house. Love it!! I use a Hori Hori knife the pop out the dandelions. My blueberry bushes are in large grow bags, and it was so much fun watching them grow and ripen!
My fun things this week, included moving all my precious baby plants out into their prospective gardens!! I love this!! I also love this channel!! Well done Linda and Stewart! Brightest Blessings
I love the mower I used to mow lawns in my neighborhood for 1.00 with a push mower in the 70’s .. I like the different colors not just one. I’ve learned new and fun ways to make pretty arrangements in my garden thank you.
Zone 8 Florida. I don't have a butterfly bush but I do have a Chase Tree that's been in the landscape for 3yrs. The blooms are very similar (purple) 💜.
In my previous home, I had a postage sized lawn. I loved the Fiskars reel mower that I purchased at Lowe's. Bonus: The folks at my local Lowe's put it together for me.
Hi Linda. Love the segment on the push mover. I have an old one with wooden handles given to me years ago. There is an attachment to catch the clippings if you don't want them embedded in the ground. Have a great day
OH, how I love watching your videos, Linda & Stewart! You two are so much fun. :) I have a gardening story to tell. I went shopping for plants for my garden today and had a bit of a shock when the cashier totaled my purchase. Oh, well. While I was waiting at the curb for my hubby to drive the car over, a nice lady told me that the garden on my cart was beautiful. I thanked her and told her that my eyes were bigger than my garden. I bought way too much but that is always a challenge I will accept and I will find a place to put all my new babies.
Greetings from Maryland. You are a huge inspiration. Your gardens are looking amazing. Truly enjoying the evolution of your new gardens. I've tried some new plants this year based off of your recommendations. Your energy and encouraging spirit are much needed these days :) Thank you Linda.
My favorite butterfly bush is the blue one I bought on Lowe's clearance. Wasn't sure how it would do in the Low Arizona desert, but it is doing wonderfully and growing for its second year in my yard. I love the grass in the front of your home, it is just so beautiful what a wonderful improvement from what was there when you first moved in! I am going out today to buy a battery blower for my yard because I hate having to deal with 100 ft electric cords to blow the debris from my acre. I am 72 and soon starting radiation for throat cancer and I need to be able to make my life as easy as possible at this point. Just recently bought a battery powered lightweight weed wacker that I just love. Wish I could grow blueberries but it's has always been a failure in the low desert for me
I purchased 3 today, but they raised the price to $49.99. They are taking advantage of all of us placing an order 😅 the same one is for $70.99 at Home Depot 😊so we did great 👍🏻 Thanks Linda 😊😊😊❤ Had to get another one before they raise the price again. Got a total of 4 😊👍🏻
I love the lavender Candy Butterfly Bush. I also saw the raspberry color this week and it is now in my top two colors of this plant. I would plant those two colors together. 💜💕🦋
I love the architecture structure of the castor plant. I grew several from seed on a berm behind my property and enjoyed seeing them waving behind a hedge on the rock wall (I don't have a back fence in order to better enjoy the mountain view). To my dismay, I was warned of their poisonous hazard if children accidently came in contact. To be safe, I took all of them out. In my next garden I will feature one castor plant in the center of a flower bed. That's how much I love it!
So amazing how you have transformed a blank boring yard with HOT HOT sun into something amazing! Don’t look past the stunning transformation you have done and so quickly! Inspiring!
Due to YOU, looked through a bunch of Baby Gems yesterday at Marvin's her in Alabama until I found one with ONE stem. Potted it up and added rock mulch. Looks great! Going to let it grow and then decide if I DARE begin the trimming process. Thanks for so much garden inspiration.
Can you share where you got your hat? Love it and need one just like it! I love that people are going back to the simple things in life. Thanks for bringing that back to us.
The peas my 6 year old granddaughter planted are now about 8" tall. She is so excited! I have added two new flower and shrub beds. One is full of zinnias, which I love, and the other will have a mix of evergreens, pink gaura, and cherry explosion hydrangea. I am liking those conical boxwoods, may be adding a couple of those to my plant list.
Wonderful video!! I will be 71 at end of month and I’m getting myself a push mower!!! I have people who take care of my yard but between times as you said, I can keep it trimmed!!
Fun, I have two acres and would love one of those push mowers, but alas, I have gardening to do, and not mowing for days. But I saw those Cranberry Creek boxwoods, and put them in my cart when I saw you post them. By the time I got into the house after gardening all day, sold out. I did find some at Home Depot online, and order, they were delivered two days ago and hey are huge. I absolutely love how this front garden has come together, BEAUTIFUL!
I have a very small strip of turf in my back yard that we just had sodded. The big mowers will chew it up on the turns. I was going to buy a regular lawn mower but now I’m so glad I saw your little push mower! I love it! Perfect!
Your garden is so beautiful! I'm starting from scratch in my cottage garden. One plant at a time. You inspired me to do a garden instead of grass. I just love it!😊💛
Quick story,an Italian story. My Grandfather,Giuseppe Montalto,he was a yard and garden master. His neighbor, one of the Trifelettis,he used one of those push mowers, and my grandfather, well,he just hated that Triffeletti used one! Those hand pushed mowers, they require effort, but they give back. I salute you Lovely Linda, for using one. Honestly? Old man Triffeletti kinda won that battle with my grandpa😂
Linda I am still amazed at how much has been achieved in a fairly short time !! The grass is really looking good ! Really like where you are placing the Cranberry Crush Boxwoods , perfect !!
Hi Linda and Stewart Never doing the reel mow just like I’m never ironing my bed sheets. Nope never doing that! 😂but I will order your journal! That’s an ez one! I like taking my cut flowers and putting them in bud vases now! Or even just greenery. I love the natural look of your enormous window box. Nice to be able to see it from inside too! It will be great with twinkle lights at Christmas ! O heck put some solar ones in there now and see it sparkle at night! Now there’s some fun thing to do. I like to do my chair yoga under my sunsetter shade in the garden. As soon as I get a new timer I will have the water fountain going too. Ahhh zen times! ❤🥰
Love the push mower option. In cities and suburbs, noise pollution is a huge problem ... not to mention the air pollution created by mowers and other lawn tools, which create some of the dirtiest emissions out there. I must admit I have a true loathing of blowers though .... very disruptive and unpleasant sound, especially when neighbors have lawn maintenance services coming early in the morning.
I mow my lawn, for 4 years now, with my push mower - I've had it sharpened twice, which makes it so much easier to push! People stop to share In the nostalgia and sometimes they want to try it lol! ( I don't mind that, at all) Also I bought two of the cranberry boxwoods last year, at my local garden center, and they survived winter like a charm! So far, so good!👍👏🎉😊
Did I miss a video?! Looks like we have some new plants in the area Linda was mowing - drift roses and another holly?? I wonder what a very small wall would look like on the sides of the sidewalk before the stairs. There is a large drop off at the grass edge.
Linda, you were so proud that your wheeler mower was “ecologically friendly”; but then your next fun item was a blower which creates NOISE POLLUTION. That presented a moment of dichotomy! I strictly sweep my walks and enjoy the exercise it brings me.
Those blueberries! My garden is just about in winter mode , heavy rain so its inside now. The indoor plants are happy , I've expanded the range as our conservatory is now that, after being a drop zone forever. My darling purple violet, that refused to flower for more than 8months, burst into bloom the day our only granddaughter arrived. Shes 2 now,it has not stopped flowering in all that time. Its now turned into 2 plants so will divide and repot. I've always loved these flowers even as a 5 year old. Something special about them. I love your new garden Linda it will be a show stopper in no time.
I have a very large lawn overall but a small area right at the entry to the house that gets more attention... a push mower would be perfect to keep it happy. Thanks for such a great idea!
Margie- i think the variation of lavender colored plants look great as they are. I do this and feel it prevents a boring garden. Great job linda!
3rd year with my electric mower.
Best decision ever!
I am enjoying this week welcoming the hummingbirds back to my yard.
i love gardening with my dog Daisy. She loves sniffing all the plant along with me.
I just bought a push mower for my small grassy area in the backyard. I love it. No more engine issues or running out of gas.
I would have grass laying all over.
Ditto I have small patch in front and I’m loving my push mower works like a charm if area is small
Amazing that you have transformed the Story Book Cottage Hill front barren land into a beautiful lush green garden so quickly 👏👏👌👌👍👍
Be blessed!
Your property has turned out remarkably well. You definitely are a master at your craft! So fun to follow you.😄
That push mower really took me back! I’m officially old!! 😅😅
Oh how that mower brings back memories! Back in the 60’s, my mother & Dad had one when they lived in Florida to cut their St Augustine grass that they planted themselves with many plugs. Mama said that was the best mower & made the lawn look so clean cut!

I haven't watched in a week - lots of new growth!!
I don’t want to Pat myself on the back but the moment you said you were putting grass on the hill I said she’s gonna get a push mower I hope you don’t mind but I’m living through you vicariously ,respect the mower.
Me too!!
What is breaking my heart after 43 years the deer have discovered my yard😢
I love mowing, so satisfying. I use a rotary mower with a catcher. 🌳

Thank you Linda.
Hoping to see finished outside and outside tomorrow!
That is so wonderful. You are not using a loud, gas guzzling lawnmower and using the push mower. I have one in my shed that I use occasionally.

Love this! Love your hat too!
I really like the continual flame bulbs you added to the light fixtures on your porch.

I just order the worx blower since its cordless and light enough for me to use to blow off the patio, I am so excited. Hubbys is just too heavy!
I bought a reel push mower two summers ago. Good exercise too.
My excitement for my garden is my lettuce emerging in my veggie garden.
Blueberry bushes have lovely color in the Fall... how exciting will the garden look then :)
Unfortunately Butterfly Bush is considered an invasive species here in Oregon. Your garden is looking good, will watch for the changes to come.
Wonderful video!! I will be 71 at end of month and I’m getting myself a push mower!!! I have people who take care of my yard but between times as you said, I can keep it trimmed!!
You go girl!
My boxwood is absolutely gorgeous. I just ordered the green mountain, happy birthday to me. Thank you so much for sharing this find.
I would mix the butterfly bushes. All colors are great. I bought my first small one last year in blue. I have one large one that is fuchsia.
Your garden is so beautiful . The grass is very nice too. It has grown so much. Everything is coming along so nicely!
Hey Linda! Once the birds discover your blueberries 🫐 they will enjoy them all. I use netting on mine to save some for me! ❤
I just love it!😊💛
My box woods arrived this week. So impressed with their size, beauty and healthiness! Thanks, Linda, for sharing this marvelous find!
I don't use telegram for messaging, just dm on fb.
You are nailing it.
Your new home is very quickly becoming the reflection that is mighty Linda!!
Love this story!
Linda I am still amazed at how much has been achieved in a fairly short time !! The grass is really looking good ! Really like where you are placing the Cranberry Crush Boxwoods , perfect !!
Love the lilac Buddleia. I have the davidii Black Knight and Pink Perfection (lost my burgundy one) and have a white one - love the sweet honey scent.
We have one as we have a small garden and a small lawn area. A practical garden utensil, my husband's job .😁
Hi Linda and Stewart
Never doing the reel mow just like I’m never ironing my bed sheets. Nope never doing that! 😂but I will order your journal! That’s an ez one! Great video! Does Stewart have a garden? He's probably very knowledgeable after all these years filming!!!😁
I loved mowing with the push mower when I was a little girl!❤
Linda, you were so proud that your wheeler mower was “ecologically friendly”; but then your next fun item was a blower which creates NOISE POLLUTION. That presented a moment of dichotomy! I strictly sweep my walks and enjoy the exercise it brings me.

We just bought one a couple weeks ago because of budget. My 7 year old loves to use it and mow and it is quick and easy I'm surprised.
Hello sweet lady, now that we are past Mother's day the grow is one. My blue berry first year not so good, but my strawberries are crazy.
I have a very large lawn overall but a small area right at the entry to the house that gets more attention... a push mower would be perfect to keep it happy. Thanks for such a great idea!
Was looking forward to the completed garden and house tour
Loving the rambunctious window box.
