How to give constructive criticism | Jamila Musayeva: In this video, I share some of the most useful tips to giving a constructive criticism. It is not what you say that matters so much but rather how you say it. So a lot of how you give criticism depends on the ways you give, not what you say, meaning the time, body language you use, etc.
P.S. These tips are for those who want to give an honest feedback without the intention to hurt the other person but instead allow the person to improve.

This is wonderful advice, Jamila. Constructive criticism is always respectful offering substantial feedback aimed to help others with improvement for further better performance but never to hurt nor to humiliate. Love the fact that your elegant outfits are featured from now on. That white waistcoat is so chic perfectly paired with your tailored trousers, footwear and dainty accessories. There's nothing more elegant than monochrome black and white outfits, in my humble opinion, and considering your striking high contrasted natural colouring (fair skin tone + dark hair) compliments you beautifully. Hey Jamila, I have been following you for a while, and now suddenly I have realized that I need to order your etiquette book! I didn’t grow up in a “royal” setting and now life brought me into a much different society than I would have thought as I was growing up in Türkiye. So I feel like your books might enhance my relationships and even these subtle changes in one’s manners might change their life more than they might think. I also like to support my Azerbaijani girl’s good work ❤🙌🏻 and also I think my mindset has changed drastically, I thought all these etiquette thingies were fake and made-up, but now as 28 yo grown-up myself, I realized I also can’t stand people who has no class or manners and doesn’t behave following environment they are being in. Wow. Love these tips. On the flipside, I'd also love to learn how to elegantly curb totally unsolicited (and sometimes rude) opinions and pieces of advice you didn't ask for, in contexts where you're just going about your day and absolutely not expecting any type of feedback from anyone on any subject 🤦♀️ maybe it's me but people just seem to ignore my boundaries, like my entire life is their business

Thank you for this feature, which I found very interesting. I actually find the sandwitch very offensive. Other people from my background or with whom I get along well, too. The most important thing is, I think (1st) know what you are talking about, (2) keep it factual, (3) think of the other person: can they do something about it? (like "you are so slow" or even, "I appreciate that you make that effort, but still think you are very slow" if there is nothing to be done about it, hurts.
my last taiwanese boss is the best when it comes to public manners and delivery of constructive criticism. i think taiwanese, in general, are the most respectful and well-mannered people i have met in my life so far. we love respectful and kind delivery of telling what they think and feel all the time anywhere without sacrificing their version of truth.

What exactly do you mean?
Thank you for making this video. It is helpful but I wonder how these tips can be applied if the power dynamic is not one where you are with a student or your child, or even with an equal like a colleague or a friend, but with someone who has formally the power in the situation.
Some examples that come to mind are when you are dealing with government employees like a social worker, like if you have to apply for financial aid, if you need to communicate extensively with a doctor within the public healthcare system, or if you need to partake in group meetings and be taught things to be able to receive individual therapeutic support.
These examples are real examples from my life these past years. Often I find myself becoming immensely upset when things have not worked well and I have been affected adversely.
I have felt powerless and vulnerable because without a financial incentive, the healthcare providers and therapists I am interacting with don’t have to ask for or accept feedback.
Even though I am aware my bringing up things and asking unpleasant questions is not making things better, is eating up a lot of time and energy, and is making people annoyed with me, I find it difficult to just turn a blind eye to things.
But is there perhaps an etiquette rule that I am not aware of, that says one must never offer criticism, constructive or not, to people who are ‘above’ you in status?
Would you do a video on greeting people at the door. Guests that are expected and guests that surprise you. I have some worries that I am not doing this politely and correctly. Thank you.

This is too complicated to explain in a text reply, but I'll give it a brief try & I won't do it justice: feminism started out with the right idea, to give women equal rights, which I'm for, because I have a wonderful daughter, an amazing mom &great female friends. Yet feminism went too far the other direction, demeaning the man, to the point of making masculinity a bad thing men should apologize for, telling little boys to sit down and behave like girls. Some cultures don't have this problem, but the USA has become toxic for males. Please do not take any offense by this, I'm not chauvinistic, I believe men & women are both special in their own ways & also in some similar ways, I want to unite the sexes, not divide them, to compliment & enhance each other's lives

what can you say about preachers/pastors who takes pride in being blunt when preaching this and that but they’ll get away with it by saying “oh, i didn’t mention any name.” but when the people are the ones criticizing them they’ll respond “oh, sorry. i’m not perfect. i’m getting old.” okay, reflections and then forgiveness. kindness and grace.

I would suggest that you use warmer light and some hints of color in the background or the room you are, this way will look cozier and warmer. You are perfect the way you are. It’s just the setting which is a bit somber. 🙏🏼

I don't know where to start or what to say but I have been following you from the very beginning. I know all of your videos I always put a like even before starting the video and I have never been a toxic fan who would leave a bad comment or anything, I always appreciate your videos and learn from them and I'm not a consistent viewer or anything, yes I interact with your Instagram posts but not all of them and I never sent you any bad messages or anything but you blocked me. I'm just confused because I only sent you two video suggestions and once sent some encouraging words and you even liked my message after that I didn't open my Instagram so after a month I found myself blocked.
