    I think I would have went for an ESP8266, so that it could grab the time from an NTP server and just display that. Good job though!

    I just finished it and the genuine Arduino UNO will not connect to my pc when the 5v power pin is in. CAN YOU HELP!

    I built the clock and when i tried to start to calibrate it, my servos turned sometimes 360° or more. Is that a thing with my servos or what? I hope you can help me. If you want i can send you a video. Thank you in advance...

      Hi Tigerling08. The correct servos should definitely not rotate 360 degrees. Sounds like a problem with your servos

      Okay i guess i will buy new ones and Ty for response 👍

    I think it would look even cooler if the plotting assembly was inside the enclosure, and the light glowed through a panel.

    • @yeldardeerttoille
      @yeldardeerttoille 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      a clear panel with the glow tape on the outside

    • @quazarfire
      @quazarfire 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yeldardeerttoille, necroing your comment, but I think this is a pretty cool idea! One thing that might make it difficult would be finding a clear material that wouldn't block the light from the UV diode too much. Idk what the absorption properties of something like clear acrylic is, but normal glass actually blocks a huge percentage of UV light. I would hazard a guess that acrylic does too.
      You could find some other clear material that isn't absorbative in the UV range (quartz comes to mind), but getting the material in the right size could end up being prohibitavely expensive (quartz panes can get crazy expensive).
      Alternatively, i'm not sure what wavelengths those glow stickers absorb, so it's possible you wouldn't even need the UV light, and the visable light would be enough, in which case this could be really acheivable and look really, really cool.

    I wonder what the codes should be for it to be with the ESP8266?

    Make Magazine article suggests to use DS3231 RTC module. Considering the latency of paper publishing, is that not a better module after all?
    Do you think the code could be configured to allow for x minutes between automatic writes-to-screen and include a push button write-to-screen option?
    Shipping prices with aliexpress kick the totals up a bit, but no shockers.

    • @TucksProjects
      @TucksProjects  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes the DS3231 is a superior RTC module. I asked them to include that in the article.
      Also yes! You can totally program it to write on time intervals!

    Hey, I'm making this clock for school project and our school had RTC DS1302. Is there a way that i can use this one instead of the DS1307

    • @TucksProjects
      @TucksProjects  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Uros, yes the DS1302 should work but not without a few changes to the code. I've never used the DS1302 but there are libraries you can download within the Arduino IDE that include example sketches. If you're unable to figure out how to get it to work, feel free to send me a message and I'll try and help as much as I can. Good luck!

    great clock! but you should trim your wires much shorter, and never use a lighter to shrink the tubing...
    *(yes, I know everyone does it, but you should use a hot air gun, or the tip of the soldering iron to apply the heat.)

      You're complaining about using a lighter, and yet you suggest the tip of a soldering iron? Are you serious?
