Idk what was done over there and he might have punished them for it, but clearly he’s a culture guy.
It’s sad how the running back position has dwindled down in value, they are so fun and electric to watch it’s a shame the nfl doesn’t give them enough value
The value is not based on whether or not they're fun to watch, it's; what is winning games right now? JT was RB #2 in the league 2 seasons ago and they missed the playoffs in spite of having an average defense with the best rushing offense. The only team in the NFL that is having any postseason luck with an elite and high paid RB is the Titans with the King.
jim irsay's biggest accomplishments: 1. Getting Peyton kicked off the team, 2. Created deflategate with his former boyfriend ryan grigson, 3. Attempted murder on Andrew Luck by not providing an offensive line, 4. hiring a former ESPN analyst as a head coach, 5. About to trade Johnathan Taylor.
Jeff Saturday was one of the smartest offensive lineman, giving a player a chance to be a head coach without having to go be the errand boy for several years first was a step in the right direction.
Idk why everyone’s making Irsay out to be the bad guy when JT hasnt done anything to deserve an extension at this point. Dude still has another year left on his rookie contract and is coming off of a surgery and a down year.
Glad someone is on my side. Nobody cares about the Colts more than Irsay, hes going to do what he, and his team, thinks is best. Overpaying RBs has historically been disastrous for teams.
Not a colts fan, but their GM said it best on why they haven’t negotiated with Taylor, “we won four games last year.” Nobody on that team deserves a raise after that disaster
This will be one of the defining nails in the coffin of RB’s being valuable players. It’s in the process of happening right now and we are witnessing it, kinda crazy. RB paydays are quickly going to become a thing of the past. And I don’t blame them. You don’t need a great back to have a good run game. I also don’t blame the players for wanting to be paid. It’s just an unfortunate situation.
Front load rb contracts, big signing bonus with a lot of guaranteed money, then make the latter years of contract heavily incentive-based. RBs are grossly underpaid for what they contribute to the offense and put their bodies through.
