We just returned from a stay in a Dockside Suite and loved it. We also got a pool view. So Beautiful. That sky view at night was spectacular for me. I think Dockside has way more to offer than what I ever thought so I'm sure we will stay there again on a future trip. Awesome review.
Yayyyy! I'm so glad I could help! I love exploring the resorts at Universal, and I know I'm the kind of person who wants ALL the details before I travel somewhere new. Glad I could make that experience a little easier!
So funny you have a tradition pizza after HHN... we have been to HHN once in 2019 for 2 nights during our stay... and both nights at cabana Bay I grabbed pizza on the way to our room 🤣 can't WAIT for next year when we come! Maybe meet you one night! 😊
Hahaha it was a necessity this year! The lines were long for food in the park, but the pizza was super convenient! Hope the time flies before next year!
Hi Liz! Thanks for showing this resort. We have never stayed at a resort on Universal's property, only on Disney's. I have checked the comparisons between the two & Universals prices are considerably lower than Disney in every level of resorts. The rooms are larger also! Disney's rates are getting sky high!
You're welcome! I really enjoy making these kinds of videos, because it lets me explore the resorts but I also know it's something that could be useful for those of you traveling into Universal! The Disney prices have gone INSANE in recent years. You just can't even compare the two anymore!
Great review thank you! We've got a 2 week stay booked for June next year in a suite and I'm looking forward to it and love seeing how the hotel is bedding in and getting a better feel for what it may be like on our trip.
Just found this vlog, loved it! We stayed at Surfside last time (Oct 2022), but fancy a change to Dockside. What room number did you stay in please? Looks an amazing view! 🤩 x
@@DiscoLiz Awww no problem hun :D. I'll ask for pool room/top floor when we go, and hopefully they can accommodate us as well as they did you ♥️. Thanks for replying xxxx
Pretty sure it’s just a temporary staffing issue in terms of life guards. I think the resorts with multiple pools are shutting down one pool during weekdays to save on staffing resources. So there will still be a pool open, it just may not be the pool at your tower!
I’ve never done universal but just from your videos it seems like their value resorts have a much better value than Disney value resorts. I do love Disney deluxe resorts though but that’s because I’m lucky enough that mom has DVC because there’s no way I could do boardwalk on my own budget lol
Oh absolutely - I think Disney nails the deluxe resort experience (although the price is usually twice the cost of Universal’s deluxe tier!). AKL, Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian… those are amazing experiences, and I love just visiting them. Someday want to stay! But I think Disney has really dropped the ball with the “all star” style resorts when it’s a direct comparison to Cabana Bay or Dockside/Surfside. There is just NO contest on which is the better value and experience with Disney’s current price points!
100% agree. I was not overly impressed with pop century or all stars and they do have that same issue of minimal food options that you were talking about with dockside but like the pools aren’t nearly as nice. We are staying in one of the suites at art of animation this weekend so I’m curious to see how the space compares to the suite you were in but I know price wise it isn’t even in the same league.

Yay! I'm glad you loved it too! I definitely loved the view from the room. It was a great resort, especially for that price!!
Your videos helped me so much planning my first family trip to universal and hnn thankyou for doing all the videos you do it helped so much

You're welcome! I think it's a very nice resort, especially for the price! The suites are wonderful!
66 degrees is a good day temperature in the UK, we might even be tempted to take our jumpers off!! 🤣🤣🤣
It was GORGEOUS out! So rare to get those cold moments at HHN!

So glad you loved it! Sadly I don’t remember the room number at this point since this was in 2021 - but I had a pool view on the top floor I believe!

Really great review if this hotel Liz. Yes, the pool is a fish don’t let them fool ya lol ..🐟
Deborah
Thank you! I really love filming these. It's fun to explore and share!
Nice review! But I did not understand why the pool is closed during the week! Is it the same in Cabana's? I like going to the pool every day.

So, it is just one pool that is closed. It is ok then.
Is the A/C really cold, we need it very cold
Yes! I had it set on 68 and it was nice and cold!!
@@DiscoLiz thank you for the response
Which would you say is better dock or surf???
I haven’t had the opportunity to check out Surfside yet, but I really enjoyed Dockside!
Love dock side stayed there a couple weeks ago and yea beds are comfortable a lot better than cabana bay beds hate there beds
Yeah, Cabana could definitely use a mattress upgrade, especially now that I've stayed at Dockside!
@@DiscoLiz yeah I still like cabana bay just wasn’t a fan of there beds love there resort itself and the food was really good

I love love love 💯 that view 😍😍
I know you mentioned you were in tower one…
Do you remember your room #?? Please
Man, I wish I could remember! But sadly I do not remember the room number. I know I was on the top floor!
Universal resorts are so reasonable and Disney will soon find that people are skipping their resorts due to the outlandish prices.
100%. Disney keeps removing the benefits to staying on property too. I used to love it, but now it's just strike after strike for more money!
Hey I'd go with you so you won't go by yourself you're cute.
Well, thank you for the very kind compliment... but I'm married! LOL!
@@DiscoLiz NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHY ARE ALL THE CUTE ONES MARRIED?!
