All musicians come from the royal corps of army music, all army bands are trained to the same standard now. Its not like it used to be years ago when each battalion would have a band, and wouldnt be the same standard. My pal is a tuba player with the grenadiers. He moved from rlc band to Sandhurst band to grenadiers.
Cracking video mate. Great to see the Band of the Irish Guards, with DM David Johnston (formerly of the Irish Guards Corps of Drums) leading the band. Also great to see the 1st Bn London Guards marching in the procession. Marches: - 0:12 Blue Plume - 2:51 Red Man’s March
The regimental mascot of the Irish Guards, the Irish Wolfhound is only on parade when the Irish Guards Regiment are on parade, this does not include the band. The regiment parading behind in this video are 'The London Guards' a London based army reserve unit hence the mascot is not present. He is in work every day just like any other member of the armed forces but will only parade when the 1st battalion, No9 or No12 Company Irish Guards are on parade.
@@memphis6420 What do you mean by disbanded? The Irish Guards Corps of Drums are one of the very best amongst the regimental Corps of Drums and only got new kit (drums) last year!

Great band but I prefer Alford marches. The English March King.
Red plumes are Coldstream Guards

@@MilitaryBandsEverywhere Thanks for this update. It is great, though, to see a Wolfhound at work. Mine have always been born into retirement.
The musicians are all trained soldiers and know the pace in which to march - they don't need some wolly shouting left right left throughout the video
Hi, anyone can tell me the name of the irish drum major ? Thank you
David Johnston, formerly of the Irish Guards Corps of Drums (sadly disbanded).

@@memphis6420 Irish corps of drums were also in my opinion, the strongest sounding in the guard by far when yhey returnee!
@@militaryevents107There is no doubt about it that they were the best Corps of Drums by quite a long way
