Actually, the series was created in 1975, not 86 as you mention, ran through 1977 and 74 great episodes...😉
Absolute legend. My bad! Enjoyed the video? o7
To point out UFO Grendizer came out in the 70s in Japan as it was a spin off of Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger. So those who know about such shows are in their 40s and 50s such as myself who is a fan of 70s and 80s mecha shows.
An elder of the genre! Did you enjoy the game?
@@FiOthXMachina I will not lie the game needed some polishing as it was rough around the edges but for the most part I enjoyed it.
1. No Japanese language track but I can deal with that.
2. The English voice acting was rather wooden and stiff and especially with Duke Fleed declaring attacks
3. The game is rather short which is something I can deal with as well because I have played games where I accumulate play time in the hundreds of hours such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Elden Ring. From the looks of it they were setting up for either a sequel or perhaps DLC much like what you would see from FromSoft with Dark Souls.
Now I did enjoy the game because it was done by people who were actual fans of the property rather than "fans" who take a property and dump their socio-political garbage for the sake of ESG. The publisher is also very respectful to the licensed IPs they handle such as Asterix.
I was more interested getting Grendizer than I was for Suicide Squad Kills the Justice League.
@@Pegas105 man, Grendizer blows that live service shite out of the water, no objections there.
This shit was way better than anybody would have expected. I would love a sequel or flc
Glad you liked it so much my man. I'm not saying it's shit, and my issues with it have nothing to do with the production values. Just off-putting design choices.
I'm not a gamer and it looks like this would teach me how to be one
Simple controls and low difficulty are ideal for newcomers! Welcome to the hobby! :3

and a new story begins

Ah man, I remember this. My 8yrs old self would love to play this!!
Yeah... don't know if we were supposed to watch it when we were 8 though. xD
how long is this game? are there side missions or optional bosses?
Side Missions yes. It's semi-open world in a sense. Bosses are usually tied to the story.
Correction. The people that watched Grandizer, as part of the Force 5 show featuring Getter Robo G, Gaiking, Wakusei Robo Danguard Ace, on the East Coast, are in their 50s. Even more of a let down for someone like me who has the DVDs of all of these late 70 early 80 super robots and DVDs I was looking forward to playing this. Will not pay full price for it though. If it's on sale for like $3 then I'll give it a go LOL
I stand corrected, you are right. The game is not a disaster, just a pretty bland button-masher. Hope you can find it on sale and enjoy it for what it is.
The anime ran from 1975 - 1977 for 74 GLORIOUS episodes.
I stand corrected!
I’m not too bothered since it’s still a budget licensed game. Seeing it through that lens, it is very impressive how much fun it can be.
When it comes to anime mecha licensed games, the only ones I expect any form of deeper gameplay from are the Gundam games and Super Robot Wars. As the rest in that specific niche are usually half baked in comparison. This game is just better than what is normally offered.
Yeah, I can understand what you mean. Still, it feels like a lost opportunity. I wouldn't say a 40-50 euros games is a "budget" title though... there are stellar games out there at the same price range (Alan Wake II, Remnant II). Also, have you tried Armored Core VI? It's amazing!
They should have made it a Super Robot Wars type game.
I love the Super Robot Wars, where Goldrak is part of the team.
As most Europeans, we care more about Goldrake than Mazinger 😅
As a Greek, I have to agree. 😁

You look like a mega-fan alright. :P
What happened to Orion quest now it's duke ?
What do you mean? Duke has always been the protagonist.
@@FiOthXMachina I had to Google to find my answer I didn't know Duke aka Johnny is same person as Orion quest name change from Japan to US
It seems interesting for little kids
Problem is, that shouldn't be the target audience... :P
i agree. at least the graphics would have been a bit realistic. unlike this, it looks to cartoony.
My thoughts exactly.
And then they announced a new series that follows the new Mazinger reboot
Well, it's just good business really.
The main thing is, Grendizer has been pushed aside for years since Mazinkaizer came about, making only like, 2 appearances anywhere since then, both lacked Kaizer. Now the new Mazinger stuff has Kaizer AND now Grendizer
Let's hope they're gonna dish out some worthwhile content.
