    This is what I call straight up amazing. The generation I came from grew up on Helmet, Melvins, Quicksand, Faith No More, The Jesus Lizard, Tool, Chavez, Hum and Jawbox to name a few. We were some lucky bastards!!!!!

      Those mesa 400+'s are a fat sounding amp. Not thin at all with that G&L 2000 either! One of the best bass tones of the 90's!

      @@CaliBorn73 I was watching SNL when Fear played. I had no idea what was going on at the time, but I thought it was pretty funny when the audience started slam-dancing and the crew freaked out. Years later I ended up seeing Fear live. Minus the one that had OD'ed by that point.

      MTV wasn't a broadcast network. it was a basic cable channel. There was a show on FX that had Melvins on at least one time back in the day. Conan might've had a band like Helmet on in the early days of his tenure at Late Night.

    Take me back to my job driving a hi-lo at a lumber yard, waking up with no pain or thoughts of dispair. 1994!!!!! I was 20. My dad died when I was 18 but I remember this as some of the best time of my life. Turning 50 in January of 2024. What the fuuuck!!!

    Holy shit i thought id never see this iconic live performance again by helmet on jon steward show!!! I was 13yo when i saw this on tv..drove me nuts, inspired me to pick up drumming and skateboarding aggressively. Everybody else was skateboarding blasting Nirvana- Nevermind, well me and my buds were blasting Helmet-Betty while grinding pipes!! Yeahhh i bow down to HELMET still now!!

    I remember seeing Page in a Guitar World magazine back in the day saying, " I'm just a guy out there proving that you don't have to be a good guitarist to have a great rock and roll band". I still get a good laugh every time I remember that. They have got to be the most "clean cut" looking metal band ever. 🙂

    My first concert ever in 1996 was Helmet opening for Primus. Fucking awesome! I was instantly hooked on live shows. I remember this drummer killing it while wearing an Emmitt Smith jersey.

    Can't believe I actually remember seeing this on TV the night that it aired, such a better and more enjoyable time. Always loved this Band since 1992, when I first saw the video for Unsung on Headbangers Ball one late ass Saturday night. Page still had a full head of hair back then (during this performance in 94)...and so did I...🤔.

    Never heard of these guys until I saw them open for Clutch this last year. Unfortunately, the sound was absolutely mud, but it intrigued me enough to research them more when I got home. These guys absolutely rock. I really hope I get an opportunity to see them again with a better mix

      Mine was around 96. I would get the 12 Columbia House CDs and never pay them. I did it about 3 times, getting CDs sent to different family members homes.

    I saw them on this tour. Quicksand opened and blew them out of the water. It made Helmet very boring to watch, which they are to a point.

      Love both bands, but I agree! I saw two shows on this tour and Quicksand DID upstage them those nights. Helmet was beginning to get a touch formulaic, and QS had just released Manic Compression
