Eric Chahi never gave his permission for the sequel, so Interplay decided with him to have the same story of Another World from a different perspective, the one of "buddy" the Alien that helps Lester (the main character of AW).

But the name of the sequel is Heart of the Alien and it only came out on the Sega CD. I think it' pretty rare. Maybe there is a more recent release, like the Xbox, I don't know....

Never knew that there was a sequel to Another World but I can see why they'd go there. I agree that falling scene is brutal but by then I would imagine most kids had already watched films like Terminator, Commando, Preditor and or the Running Man. Lol

Él quería que la historia se mostrara desde el punto de vista del alien y de paso se pueda ver al fondo a Lester huyendo de los guardias en las mismas escenas vividas en el primer juego. Él aclaró que la secuela que terminaron sacando no es canon porque él no tuvo ninguna relación mas allá de sugerir que Lester muriera(Cosa que despues se arrepintió porque arruinó la historia y lastimó mucho a los fans incluyendome). Ojalá un día Chahi logre sacar esta secuela, aunque sea con un Kickstarter :/
Another world was a brilliant game from Eric Chahi. Heart of the Alien on the other hand looks very unpolished. The graphics are rather ugly and rushed. The character movement is funny, they should have sticked to the original rotoscope technic.

It is a vector graphic engine, the same as another world, but designed by total different people, therefore the quality is not the same.Rotoscoping means that each frame is filmed in reality (of course with people and slightly different objects) and overdrawn by a good designer with an editor program. At the end, you get a bunch of 2d coordinate vector picture, that are 100 times less in size as an .avi type raster image movie. If the designer is sloppy you will end up having an ugly animation. Eric Chahi did a much better job than these three designers together, thats my opinion.

Dont u see this is another world 1 just that now u see what happened with ur partner that rescue you in the beginning of the game. the person who sits in the prison cell with you ..! Now you can see what happened with him between the meetings..! If u remember the story of another world then this is the pure "gold" .. :p

Quite unforgiving hitboxes and really hard gameplay. I dont think the player is bad, with modern games just being too easy on the player even on harder difficulties we assume, that the player is bad , but , in fact, we are just spoiled by too easy gameplay

This game clearly didn't had a test screening........otherwise they would have learned the game is frustrating to impossible from the FIRST scene.............in the 1ST GAME, you had gradual traps, and certainly it wasn't THAT frustrating when you had to restart a scene...........on the other hand, this game has such frustrating traps, because right after you finish one, the next one gets you by surprise (for example, here the poisonous gas plants), and frustrates you instantly, because you have to do all over again the damn frustrating scenes...........not to mention, having to sort frustrating traps over and over just to do "TRIAL-ERROR" on the next scene, is really retarded, no one in his sane mind will put such difficulty in such escalade
