    Dolly has always been a good soul. Don't ever believe anything otherwise, because there are people out there who tell lies. Actions speak louder than words and Dolly has always shown her true colors. Genuine, down-to-earth and humble. She is and always will be my all time favorite.

    Thank you Dolly. I swear, not all of us men are bad. Some of us try our best to work hard, love with all our hearts, and treat our women counterparts with upmost, yet equal, respect

    Nothing's fake about Dolly's personality. She's a gem. And Reese still looks so young!

    The 0:30 mark. That there is the extended property- (her living quarters when she is in Nashville working) of pretty much an entire corner block of Dolly's production company/ management/ recording studio. To the left that you do not see is her entire gated compound. It is pretty impressive. If you can see the entire compound, you get to see another part of Doilly other than the performer. She is a business also. And her property is to say it again, very impressive. ::

      Any good Dolly stories from down the grapevine (Anything from your great aunt via her SIL?) Don't tell me if it's a negative story tho, cuz then my perfect illusion I have of her being as sweet as she seems will be ruined - haha :)

    People like Dolly are always going to be relevant, because they understand the basics of human dignity, regardless of class, colour, sex etc, whilst not taking themselves or life too seriously. It's way more persuasive an attitude than being a raging, angry feminist or ripping up snaps of the Pope!

    These conversations are reminding me of my brother in law who encouraged my daughter to join the Naval Academy. She opted for science instead. I worked for local and the Federal Government. Unlike the private sector, we had positions with salaries that were publicly disclosed. Anyone of any gender or race could apply. If they had the qualifications they were hired. My ex had two brothers who treated her like the guys. She was a tomboy. That was what attracted me to her. Raise your children to become whatever they want to be.

    9 to 5 film was exactly how corporate life was like for women in the 70s, 80s, 90s. My boss did exactly to me as in 9 to 5 movie. Took credit for a design I did. All the women were mad at my boss. Which led me to look for better employment.
    My Mom went back to work in '75 and the interviewer asked her if it was okay with her husband. Women couldn't get credit cards, loans or bank accounts in the 70s without a husband or co signer.

    Late to the party but I'll still ask. I'd never even heard of this show til I stumbled across a tiny clip on YT just now. Apparently it used to air on DirecTV which I don't have... I'm guessing it's probably cancelled if it started in 2018 and I've never heard it mentioned in any interviews by Jennifer Aniston? Anyone know the scoop? ("Help me, I'm poor" Bridesmaids gif)

    Love Dolly and Reese. Unfortunately, I have run into women who are catty and backstabbers. I have found that jealousy runs rampant, and destroys any sisterhood that might have occurred. Very sad.

    Reese don't get it. Humanism not feminism.

    • @TheVoidwithChristina
      @TheVoidwithChristina 5 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Feminism is humanism. It's named that because for a really, really long time - women were treated - in law, particularly - like second class citizens who couldn't vote, have bank accounts, own property, or do anything without permission. They'd get fired if they got pregnant, etc etc. Feminism isn't a bad thing. It's about balancing things so we're all equal. I wish people got that more. It is totally a human rights movement. :)

    The Dolly Parton teachers women that they’re stronger together, but it seems like women haven’t gotten the message because women are literally tearing each other down
    Instead of building each other up
    I wonder with Dolly thinks of feminist nowadays because five years ago feminist meant something and actually stood for a quality, but nowadays they stand for superiority, and just a bunch of whiny women trying to get their own way wondered, Dolly thinks of them because she hasn’t really said anything about feminism for five years

    it's pretty sad in 2023. Women are still mostly second hand humans. And I don't see male stars talking about what's so hard about beeing a man. Sad. IT is really, really sad.
