I've heard eventually I have to take them out from container and plant it in ground? They also told me they are invasive even the clumping one and that they alot of work to mantain??
I need something to block my 2 story neighboor house and also something for my side yard fence which is 173ft long. I live in clovis california in the city on a corner lot..my yard sits high so people from outside can see inside my yard

Hi, I will lay concrete on side of home in back yard but not all the way to street fence..I will have about 4 and a half feet of dirt between concrete slab and fence facing street. I live in the city of clovis ca in a corner lot house...I wanna know if planting bamboo for privacy will be good in my case? I want something that does not grow too big and also something easy to maintain. Been looking at evergreens too..to be honest don't know what to plant there?
Another option was to lay concrete all tje way to fence and put trees, plants or whatever on pots for privacy..is it better to grow them in pots or in the ground?

OMG! Are you still thinking and haven't make a decision? Come on? friend.I planted non-invasive bamboo they sell here in New Zealand. It is autumn now , we don;t have much frost here, but can...So, worry a bit. Will cover a young plants with a layer of pea straw around the roots.Good luck to you.Do something!

      Hi Fullbore,
Can you tell me what variety of bamboo you are referring to?

When's the best time to eat the shoots?

Hi Bill Martin,Unfortunately, I am not able to answer your question. At Bamboo Your Privacy we do not harvest nor eat the shoots ourselves. In addition, we do not propagate nor provide our bamboo as an edible grass. However, I have heard that they do not all taste the same, you might want to research which varieties are best for harvesting and for your area.
