For your next pair of thermals, get some SILK long johns. They are so thin and light!! They won't make you overheat if it warms up a bit. Hand Wash only, dries really quickly. I've had a pair I've used a LOT and it's 20 years old and still going. Love the rose, bud, thorn!! Those lava fields are tough walking and definitely a hazard!! Thank goodness there is a trail, it would be so much more difficult if one had to walk all over the big sharp rocks. You've certainly got your heads in the clouds!! Whoo hoo 🎉 2000 miles!!! You've certainly walked the 120 miles you had to miss!! Think of the blue miles as pct adjacent! Amazing the generosity of strangers, though we all are in this together, so not so much strangers as not yet friends. 😊 And a shower!! Heres something that helped my knee pain. th-cam.com/users/shortsLx6pW96qIgQ?si=_14Nj34rVRc4Bfmb. There is a wide variety of knee pain causes, so this may not work for you. Of course, if it hurts STOP That is a gigantic lava bed!! The flow reminds me of the recent lava flows in Hawaii where the lava just crept slowly over roads and trees and cars and then just stopped!! I think the camp is like a youth camp where they learn things like paying it forward!!!
Congrats on 2000 miles! If you ever do get back to Southern Oregon, sounds like you should visit the Newberry National Monument - lava flow, waterfalls, lake, obsidian flow, etc. It is near La Pine and there is also a 1-mile lava tube you can walk in and the High Desert Museum is great for learning the history of the area and seeing some of the animals they have outside. Stay safe and continue your trek to Canada.
Awesome trail angel !

To prepare for walking on the moon, the astronauts actually practiced on those very lava fields.
Congrats on 2000!
❤❤
Hang in there. Several hikers have complained about walking the lava fields long after... I picked them up in Washington. :-(
Congratulations 2000 .
Lassen 1915 May 🌋 , S 16:17 o things doing grow well on broken glass. Some pretty scapes there.
Buy safety pins for your wallyworld thermals because the elastic waist band will take a sh*t after the first washing.
