First of All...Thanks very much for your good work !
1 - I did install (LEXUS IS 350 EXECUTIVE 2020) HC MOTIONZ (Wenzhou Yecheng Auto Parts Co., Ltd) RGB Tail lights end of september 2022. Very satisfied until now.. No glitch no nothing. Quality fabrication speaking...similar to OEM as far as I'm concerned. Quality of Internal electronic components ? Dont know yet.. Made in China not always means bad quality. Iphones are made in ? So, to follow.
2 - Then I bought RGB Daytime running lights in february. Total failure. Unable to "connect" the device at all. I am an IT guy so ...tried eveything I know in order to make it work. No chance. LED controller box DEFECTIVE. The fact that we cannot "deactivate" startup animation and some interesting colors are ILLEGAL at least here in Canada has changed my mind to install this product. Quality of fabrication ? So..So... LOW. Lots of gaps and slots.... Not sure it would have really been IP67....standards.
3 - Bought NORMAL item (Animation White-then Blue-Then finally White) Drl in february. Startup animation was Ok. BUT the sequential ORANGE turn signal feature didn't work correctly. Lights stayed FIX SOLID ORANGE. No movement at all. Wenzhous Yechen Auto Parts engineers said was first time this type of problem... ;) Ask for a REFUND...last week.
I really appreciate the detailed explanation of your experiences. I’m sorry you weren’t satisfied with the DRLs. Mine have been perfect for me, but being an electronic device, they can malfunction. It sounds like you know that already 😅. I hope it works out for you in the end!
I wasn't able to get mine to work either -- the control unit/box is definitely defective on these. It seems like the earlier units (which the uploader received) worked, and then anything after a certain date was defective.
@@MrAlexDelarge I’ve heard of some of the modules being defective. But thankfully, I’ve also heard of the manufacturer or seller replacing the module with a new one. So I’d start there and see if that’ll fix your issue.
@@Grey3IS Agreed. I went through two separate units and gave up when the second one failed too. Refused to connect my phone and the lights didn't turn on at all, so a pretty serious fault/failure on the module level. I'm looking into the non-RGB version from HCMotionz or a Chinese retailer instead of Tanso.
@@MrAlexDelarge Ahh, I understand. HCmotionz is the manufacturer for the Tansowerkz DRLs (and for everyone else). The main difference of Tansowerkz and HC is that Tanso is really good at warranting/ replacing products fast and easily. Like you
mentioned, it might be worth trying a different set of DRLs all together. Tanso offers the non-RGB too if you’re interested. I get if you’re wanting to go with another seller, but it’s all the same product.

Have you had issues with the app not letting you change the lights when the car started and it just stays in the default white
Make sure your low beams (head lights) are on, or have your headlights are all the way off! To bypass this, for auto during the day, turn off daytime running lights in your infotainment light settings. 🙂

@@xndyh Nothing “extra” needs to happen. It utilized the plug and play plug that goes to the headlights (the grey-ish plug in the video) 🙂.
I have the NON RGB version. ive noticed when i set my headlight knob to AUTO setting and the headlights switch when it get dark or driving under a tunnel on the DRL animation happens. Does this happen with yours? I now drive with headlights in manual mode to stop the animation occurring multiple times
Yes, it would happen because the DRLs are getting “power” to them at that point. To stop that from happening, you can turn off daytime runnings lights in your infotainment to fix this.
What percent tint is on your rear windshield? I've been debating between 5-20% tint on the rear but was concerned I won't be able to see people behind me at night. Great video!
Hey my man! I have 5% on my rear windshield. The higher quality tint you get, the easier it’ll be to see out of it. Regardless you’ll be able to see their headlights behind you, but some nice ceramic tint will allow you to see pretty clearly out of it at nighttime. It’s worth the investment in my opinion. 🙂 Ceramic is also great for keeping heat out, v.s. normal dyed film which is purely for darkness.
@@Grey3IS I have a red is350 and have ceramic all the way around. 20% back and sides and 40% on the whole front windshield and I LOVE it. I always promote the ceramic tint. Also about to install the running lights and pre ordering the rear v2 sequentials. I can't wait. Keep it up.

Do you know if you can keep the colors changed while in drive? I just installed these drls but once you’re in drive it keeps going back to the color white.
Hello! If you turn your lights all the way off, or turn on your low beams while driving it’ll show the colors. If your lights are in DRL mode, it’ll be white. If you want it to show colors even when in DRL mode, go to your light settings (in your infotainment) and turn off the daytime running light function. They’ll not show white anymore until you manually set them to white in the app. 🙂

Hello! Thank you for your kind words. Make sure the vehicle is running and the light stock is turned to low beam (headlights are on), then try to connect to the app. 🙂
Hi, is it possible that this is some universal RGB driver, and could be controlled with a dedicated device instead of an App? would be nice to have something on-board. Second question: you normally drive with them set to white and change colors on parkings etc? I presume it is not possible to customize welcome animation, when you first start?
I’m not sure if there is a way to use a universal remote or some kind to control them. There has to be a way to match the frequency that the app provides, I just don’t know how. And yes, I usually keep mine white while driving. And unfortunately no, you cannot customize or turn off the start up animation (to my knowledge).

Any idea why mine only turn white when I turn off headlights but with my cars lights switched to auto they are fully customizable?? ☹️
Hello! The customization ability happens when your headlights get power to them or when the headlights and DRLs are off (when the car is on). When the car is off, you can switch the light stock to DRL mode to enable customization.
I just installed but only my turn signals work my app loses connection and won’t change the color of them any tips ?
Hmm.. I’d make sure that the connection to the module box is fully connected/ secured.
Just installed mine, mine only change colors when I turn my headlights on, when it’s on auto they are just oem color. Do you possibly know why that can be?
Not sure why but mine do the same. The headlights have to be on. So either turn them on with the light stock or put them on auto at night time. But a follower of mine just told be that you can turn your light stock to the OFF position and still change the colors of the DRLs. I have yet to try this though.

@@martinthomas5282 Yes! Mine does. One of my followers DM’d me and showed me that their app didn’t have white as an option. I thought that was funky. If you pause the video where I show the app, you can see where my white option is.
Btw! If you have your headlights switched to DRL (or auto during the day) they will show white (while the car is running).
What is the shade of the DRLs? Do they seem to be smoked or are the lenses clear? Thanks!
The lens are clear! The internals are frosted/ white-ish colored.

Yes! They do a dancing rainbow animation. And what you explained is exactly how I use them 😄.

Hello! Yes, that’s the “start up animation”. I’m not a huge fan of it, but I don’t believe you can turn it off.

Hmm, try manually turning your low beams on. Or turn your headlight stalk all the way off.

Hello! Yes, these are manufactured in China. They aren’t Lexus OEM quality, but they are nice enough to function like an OEM product 🙂.
Are you aware that they arent even a manufacturer, they get these lights from HC Motion who exclusively sells on ebay,so tansowerkz charges a 20% markup when you can get the exact same thing from the manufacturer and with free shipping from china.. bro come on

I don’t believe so. But you can only change the colors of it if your light stock is switched to off or if your headlights are on. If the stock is switched to DRL, then they will display white.

I recently installed these myself. I have ended up with a little gap where the bumper meets the fender. Any tips on avoiding that?
Unfortunately, the 3IS’ bumper tabs get worn out the more you take off & on the bumper. It’s knows as “bumper sag”. There’s not too much you can do about it unfortunately. This is a common issue amongst all IS’.

Hello! The NON-RGB version don’t have an app they connect to, so they shouldn’t have issues. The app is only for the RGB colors and animations. But the NON-RGB don’t connect to an app. A buddy of mine has them and they work great.

Hey there! I’m making approx. 306hp and 374tq to the wheels. I felt a significant different in the turbo lag and power produced by the tune. The Downpipe was another mod that I felt a decent change from. Someone just recently put the Muchboost upgraded turbo in their 200t and it should be making 300++hp now!

Are the different colors kind of dim in direct sunlight? I just got mine installed and was kind of expecting them to be a bit brighter with the different colors. At night time obviously this isn’t the case, but specifically at like midday in direct sunlight it’s kind of hard to see the colors

@@Rseye Yessir. I’m sorry, it is a software issue. They haven’t updated the android software recently for some reason. If you find someone with an iPhone, you can actually change them to white from the app on their phone 😄.

Hello! Yes, there is a start up animation. It is a rainbow dancing animation for like 1 second. No, you cannot change it or turn it off (to my knowledge). And the lights stay the same brightness unless you change the brightness via the app. The DRLs match the speed of your OEM turn signals automatically 🙂.
Does the changing animation speed in app affect the startup animation? Such that you can make startup faster and less noticeable?
Do the drls stay on after unlocking the car?
@@brian3787 No, the animation speed in the app doesn’t affect the start-up animation. And for unlocking the car, the DRLs function like OEM. They turn on when applicable (like if it’s nighttime and your lights are on auto).

Is there a way to have the turn signal only on the drl instead of having it on both the drl and headlight?
You could just unplug the bulb from your headlight housings. However, you’ll get an error. So, maybe just paint your bulb black? 😅

Hmm, no. I’d double check that you plugged all head light plugs back together/ plugged them into the right spots.

To change colors when the engine is on, you have to have your headlights on or have them all the way off. To bypass that, to have them running on DRL mode, you can go into your lighting settings and turn off “DRL”. They will now be able to change colors whenever during driving.

Nope! I believe the connector you’re referring to is one that wasn’t being used in the first place.

It’s been pretty dang good for me! Make sure your headlights are turned on when you’re trying to connect. (Also make sure you have the RGB ones)

Unfortunately no. The DRLs for the 2020+ are integrated into the headlight. They aren’t a separate housing, like these.

Just installed mine, it not bright cant see the colors in daytime/sunny day. Waste of money!
Unfortunately with mostly any lighting, colors will be less intense during the day time.

What I like you to show us how to install led strips underneath of the car and light up simultaneous with puddles light from mirrors. Basically I like to see these lights on when I approach the car. Thank you

@@Grey3IS I don't know the color of the wires to power up the puddle lights if I know I would route those wires from hardness on the floor to body plug.

Just installed mine and the solid colors don’t work it just stayed white but all of the modes work any help to fix it?
That’s funky.. So when you press solid colors, nothing happens? But even when you do modes with colors, they work?
It also turns the solid red when I turn my car off only until the lights turn off. But when the car is on none of the solid colors work it stays white

@@Grey3IS so I just got mine and got them installed. They were working fine but now when I set them to a certain color it won’t show the color when I’m driving but when I turn the car off the color that I put will shine until they time out
@@tlvckey1103 Ahh, gotcha! So, for them to show color (and not just white DRL mode) while driving, you have to have your headlights manually turned completely off or have your low beams on (either manually turn them on or leave it on auto at night time). If you have it on auto during the day or on DRL mode while the car is running, it will default to white DRL color. You can also turn on just the accessory mode (pressing the start/stop button twice), then turn your light stock to DRL. You’ll then be able to change the colors (during a show or whatever). 🙂

They do the sequential signal, then go back to whatever you had them at before signaling.
I got mine last week but have you got pulled over or anything like that cause the cops be bugging where I’m from 😏
I haven’t. But I also hardly drive around with them changing colors or especially not red/ blue.

Can you comment on whether these lights work without synchronizing the application? Tansowerkz sent me a second unit, after the first failed to work, and I'm still having zero luck. They fail to power on when everything is wired correctly, however I'm not sure if this might be app-related or not (I can't get my hands on an iPhone at the moment). I'm using Android and it's detecting nothing. I looked through your comments here and it looks like you're using an iPhone -- not sure if that matters. Not sure if the module/receiver is dead, a second time in a row, or if the Android-based version of this app is just crappy/nonfunctional. Tansowerkz claims these should power on without the app, so I don't know.
Hello! I’m so sorry to hear you’re having trouble with them. But yes, they should power on just like your OEM DRLs even without connecting the app (Apple or Android doesn’t affect it). Connecting the app only allow for you to change the colors, animations, etc. It does sound like you have a faulty module. But if everything is wired correctly, it should work! You aren’t the first person I’ve heard from who has had a faulty module, and getting a new module was the fix. Again, I’m sorry this is happening. 🫤
@@Grey3IS Oh interesting. I did rewire the stock lights and there are no wiring problems, so I think you might be right in faulting the module for these problems. Terrible luck twice in a row! Thanks for your videos by the way, great stuff.

Since the DRL is in the headlight, it would have to be a whole headlight replacement. There are people that do custom additions of RGB DRLs for the “4IS”, including wisedetailz on Instagram. Here are some he did:

Nope! Just turn your light stalk to DRL mode with the car off.

Interesting. Make sure your car is turned on with the light stock turned to low beams (or auto at night). Then open the app and see if a model number pops up. Make sure Bluetooth is on too!

How did you connect the light to the app Bluetooth wise ?
Make sure your headlights are on, hop in the app, select the code that pops up (that will be your DRL’s specific code). Then you should be all set.
What it no DRL specific code appears it does go through the whole color start up sequence but it isn’t being picked up Bluetooth wise

Yeah so apparently the lights use a different app called happylighting for the 2018 model at least instead of the one you used. Just a little head up for anyone else who comes across this
