    From Spain, thank you very much for the three ideas. I try to understand the most I can because my english is not very good.
    I like a lot the light in the bathroom.
    Thanks again.

    The bathroom sensor light is a cracking idea. There's nothing noisier in the middle of the night than in our case, the clunk of a pull cord when someone needs a wee! Cheers for this one 👍

      Hi Mart & Jo, The lights are great for stopping the fumbling looking for the switch and you can see where you’re peeing! Cheers

    Great tip on the smarty SIM card deals
    Thanks as always Martin 👍

      Yes we have found Smarty to be cheaper, I searched through a comparison site and it suggested Smarty and gave a better deal then Smarty direct. Cheers

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It works really well Bob, however the network provider is the key to it working effectively. We check all sites for network coverage before we go and currently using 3 mobile through Smarty which is so far working well. Cheers

      Yes works well, you’ll be used to drilling holes through stuff! cheers

  • @Venomator.
    @Venomator. 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Remember watching these projects early on Martin, all good stuff!… 👍🏻
    We use similar LED sensor lights in the bathroom, great idea as it is not too bright to wake other half, and we also put one in the wardrobe!… 😉
    I’m afraid I chickened out and had the aerial for our router installed by a recognised installer to maintain the warranty - brave man drilling holes in your ‘van mate… 😳 👏🏻

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rog, hope all is going well with the van. I need to look at putting the sensor lights in the wardrobe, I did get three of them so need to find the spare one!
      Yeah the antenna was a good purchase but was unsure about the hole, if it was a newer van I probably would have got someone to do it for me. Their problem if it leaked, but think the chances of ours leaking is minimal.
      Take care, Martin

    Some good ideas there we have shower lights bathroom is well lit only problem with ours when turning off the lights they all go off even the reading lights 🤔so the led strip light is a good one will be doing that also one either side beds where did you source them we are bemused as to why Reading lights are not on a separate circuit thanks for the information 👍

    • @TheCaravanNut

      Makes sense to have reading lights on a separate circuit, obviously not designed by a caravaner! Thanks for watching

    Good video Martin. I have started to reverse our van more. Although bigger the twin axle is easier to reverse I fell. Would love a solar panel and 4G antenna but don't want to drill roof and void warranty.

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes twin axles a slightly easier to reverse, just got to watch scrubbing the tyres. Don’t think it voids the warranty just the hole that you cut isn’t covered. Cheers

    Any tips on getting sealant from an awning rail?

    • @TheCaravanNut

      Elbow grease! We used soapy water, WD40, stanly knife blades. It’s a pain to get off.

    • @TheCaravanNut

      There should be a link in the vlog which goes through the set up. Basically a Netgear Nighthawk 2 connected to the antenna than powered via a USB socket. Works well. Cheers

    Some great things there Martin, will look at WiFi for new caravan when we eventually get it, might try to get a free motormover fitted by dealer due to not having a leisure vehicle for over 3 months now 👍

      The TV has what I think is an old android operating system, I have downloaded the app to the TV and it worked. I only watch F1 on it if we are away but Netflix works well. It doesn't work on newer TV's, cheers

    We were really keen to do the antenna, were told that the 'ole would invalidate the water warranty - I still want one, will have to pay for someone else to make the hole... Still a top idea. Pete

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes we’re not bothered about warranty, think it only affects the area of the hole and not the rest of the roof for warranty! cheers

      @@TheCaravanNut Next time the caravan goes to the dealers, I’ll get the hole added to the job list. 1/4 hour labour. Like you, our router lives in the radio compartment with its own USB. Does that nighthawk do a good job of WiFi offload ? Pete

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Nighthawk is great and works very well, we some times have several devices connected and all streaming with no problems.

      @@TheCaravanNut We have a distant cousin, the Aircard. I could not connect this to an existing WiFi and bridge that connection to other devices like I’d hoped it would, but on a nice 4G site, no issues. We also run an unlimited data sim - prevents data cap anxiety and no longer bother with the Ariel.

    • @TheCaravanNut
      @TheCaravanNut  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Loads of people have asked me the same question as I know it doesn’t work on newer TV’s. I think our TV has an old android operating system and I was able to download it to it, I only use it for F1 when we are away and seems to work fine. I won’t be upgrading the TV for a while! cheers
