Vidic was a super defender and I was always scared when we played against him. I think he gets in over Kompany. But Flex chose Stam instead and despite Stam being a great CB, didn't play as long in the PL as Kompany and thus he did not get in.

Both Pep and Sir Alex is just the best of the best manager of all time, it probably the most difficult thing to choose for. Sir Alex have proven himself in longevity and Pep has proven himself in three different leagues. But yeah, even as united fans I can see that Pep is likely already surpassing Sir Alex in shorter time of his career, but yeah both are undoubtedly legend.
Pep walked into a league winning side is only thing against him. Sir Alex give united their first league in 26 years
While I agree pep is doing more earlier in his career, he's always had fantastic teams and the money to buy the additional players. I think Pep has the potential to overtake fergie in the long run, but for a lot of people, he'll need to do more than win titles with already title winning sides. It'll be exciting to see what he does next though, perhaps Italy?

Cantona was a goal creating machine.
People forget him because he was the beginning of United. He won every Premier League he was involved in bar 95 because he was banned. You can argue he was also the catalyst for United's 20 year dominance. If he stayed another couple of seasons and got that Treble he would have been forever immortalised as a God. He is the first name on my all time United 11.

Roy Keane was the tidiest centre midfielder in Premier League history.
Passing round the corner, breaking lines with through balls, first touch passing. Forget about leadership etc, Keane was unreal.
He was a British record signing, and in the late 90s Juventus and Bayern Munich both desperately tried to sign him in the late 90s…he was seen as a truly elite midfield player and passer by the finest teams in Europe at the time.

schmeichel vs ederson is not tough.. schmeichel is one of the greatest keepers of all time and ederson is just pretty good.. ederson didn't change goalkeeping, pep did and there's plenty who can play out from the back now they decided that is an important quality.

In terms of on the pitch and the accolades/accomplishments, that is definitely a fair argument. However, one element that is entering the argument is the culture change. Pep is changing cultures of not just teams, but also the leagues he has been to with his play style. It's a clear footballing identity that has demonstrated its transferability. In addition, another thing going for Pep is the teaching quality. Look at how many top managers there are who were managed by him or worked with him as an assistant.
Was Roman Abramovich a PL club owner when Fergie took over? Context is everything. Today you can’t just use coaching to win, you need to spend the money. No disrespect to Fergie as he was remarkable.

It's not really madness, Giggs a legend mostly for longevity, consistently a 7-8/10 for 20 years. But Silva was special, Hazard level one man game changer but he should be at number 10 position, wasn't really a winger and wouldn't get in over Rooney there.

During there playing careers i feel like most people would have said Vidic was better then Rio however in retirement the sentiment has shifted and somehow Rio is better the Vidic. I dunno i still prefer Vidic but it dont matter too much there both legends.

Me and and my family are from New Moston Failsworth North Manchester and Oldham (Greater Manchester). Loads of reds in Manchester. City's fanbase is mostly Stockport, Heaton Mersey, Heaton Norris, Heaton Chapel, Heaton Moor, Cheadle, Gatley, Glossop, Tameside and a lot in Oldham. But even in Oldham and Tameside there are loads of reds too. There are a quite of few City fans in Gorton, Ardwick, Moss Side, Fallowfield, Withington, Chorlton-on-Medlock, Levenshulme, but even in those areas there are lots of reds too. Every other area of the City of Manchester, such as Newton Heath, Miles Platting, Harpurhey, Blackley, Didsbury, Moston, New Moston, Collyhurst, Wythenshawe, Burnage, Clayton, Beswick, Openshaw, Northenden, Longsight, Hulme, Whalley Range, Chorlton-cum-hardy, Crumpsall, Cheetham Hill, and all the other areas of the city of Manchester are mostly red. Also the areas in Trafford and Salford are red too. Stretford and Urmston are under the Trafford local authority, but have Manchester post codes and Manchester in the address. And dare someone call a red from Stretford and Urmston and Sale or Timperley that they are not a Mancunian, they will get a bloody nose. I think these opposition fans are so stupid and naive that they think Manchester is blue. 🤣 Manchester is red. Also United have had more fans going to Old Trafford than City's home games since the 50s. And in those days, working people could not afford to travel around the country, it was just after the war, rationing was still on. Alex Ferguson, without question, is the best manager of the modern era. People forget the 115 FFP allegations, which already puts an asterisk against previous accolades for City, and Pep, in recent years. What has Alex Ferguson done?
- lead Aberdeen (ABERDEEN!) to a European trophy (modern day Europa League) beating Real Madrid in the final, unheard of.
- proceeded to win the European Super Cup, beating Hamburg (modern-day Champions League winners)
- knocked both Celtic and Rangers of the Scottish perch, winning the Scottish PL three times and the Scottish Cup four times in the space of eight years. No other team has won the Scottish PL, other than Rangers or Celtic, since.
- 13 premier league titles, 5 FA cups, 2 champions leagues with United.
- A treble with United, which was unheard of in English football (at the time).
- United won the Premier League with Cleverly (13 league apps), Evans (21 league apps, a young De Gea (28 league apps) and Rafael (27 league apps) at right back in 2013.
Pep, a revolutionary manager, has always had backing at each club he's been appointed. A tactical genius, no doubt about it, but to put his name against SAF's is criminal, and I'm sure many will agree. There is not enough 'unheard of's' in Pep's career for him to be in the question. Pep has generated some huge talents, has so many accolades at three different clubs, but has always had his freedom to pick the players he feels suited to his visions and tactics at the club's he's managed. Pep is the second best manager of all time, no doubt about it.
Give Pep the '96 United team and tell me if he wins the Prem, I don't think so. I want opinions though!

If I had the best team in the league I would want my manager to be Pep Guardiola. If I had any other I would want it to be Sir Alex. You cant compare what Alex Ferguson has done to Pep Guardiola. Totally different starts and career paths. In my opinion still SAF impresses me more and is definetly harder to accomplish than what Pep has done.
I get your logic. But you have to realize that there’s no overlap here. Fergie’s teams didn’t produce 90+ points every season but I get that Fergie maximized players potential to win.

Imagine if you combine all the players from each position. Ederson and Schmeichel combined would be insane, so would Keane and Rodri, hell, even Dias and Ferdinand, and obviously, Pep and Ferguson.

Any combination of Keane/Rodri with Scholes/KDB would be a better team if you had to actually play. I reckon it was better with Rooney on the left and either Keane/Rodri for Silva.
