According to 2023 QS World University Rankings, McGill is the No. 1 Canadian university (Global Rank 31). Because McGill is located in Quebec (French province), for those who don't speak French, it will be more difficult to find Post Graduate work; especially with passing of Bill 96 into law, forcing businesses to be conducted in French.

For professionals (nurses, doctors, lawyers, and engineers), they have to pass a French language test for licensure. Businesses (bigger than certain size) are forced to conduct accounting and communication in French. This has impact to Quebec's English community and sets a deterrent for Anglophones to come to Quebec.

Yes, but it is very competitive. My professor advised local resident students to leave the scholarships for international students. Local residents pay less than $6,000 a year for tuition and fees. Also, there are financial aid and bursary for local residents.

Hi, you can try sending them a mail for this but as per the university website you need to submit an IELTS score. That score requirement might be waived off in some certain cases.
