Yes too have one .Gengseng ficus bonsai Loves 🌧 and then sun 🌞. Mine costs Rs 7500 now. Great to see this Gengseng ficus bonsai tree in Bonsai Empire .
Excellent ! Thanks for this presentation. I have three ficus bonsai for last 2/3 years. That is why I have so many questions in my mind. Now I got an excellent guideline. I learned a lot from you. Again, thanks.
Thanks for sharing! This video is a great for introducing new minds to the art! Teunis has a great style that is slightly biased towards Bonsai. (Obviously... this is the name of the channel!). Very informative for the care and respect of these trees. And we are dealing with trees here. In my opinion house plants are normally shrubs and pot plants are normally herbaceous, perennials (in the west). A TREE that somebody wants to enjoy longterm should be thought of as a tree and should be maintained as such. Many people neglect houseplants and pot plants generally don't stick around long enough to be neglected. Delineating a difference is important to ensure that we provide the care and attention required to keep a TREE (that can grow to massive proportions and to a great age) for our enjoyment. This video encapsulates this for people that are on the cusp of enlightenment (of course I'm biased) in the shortest and simplest manner. Thanks again Teunis for providing the excellently versed content and thanks to Bonsai Empire for publishing it :0) May everyone be in good Buddo, life without it is boring!
so for ginseng ficus bonsai trees we water once a month during winter time? and water everyday during the summer until the soil is dry then we water again?
I brought my first ficus bonsai...may you recommend a fertilizer brand, which suits this type of bonsai, preferably a bonsai fertilizer and how often I will fertilize it.. Thanks
Hi, I would need some help with my Ficus Retusa. What kind of soil mix do you suggest for a Ficus retusa Bonsi? I recently bought it from a store and was thinking about repotting it properly with a good mix. Had a very hard time finding any suggestions online for the retusa specifically. Thank you in advance
@@bonsaiempire Do you know if there is anywhere that I could buy the mixture prepackaged and ready online? I only have two bonsai trees and buying all of these different ingredients separately seems to quite hard to get from where I Live.
I think beginners have the most difficult time watering their bonsai to keep it alive. I wish more owners would recommend "bottom watering" their plants to guarantee a soaked rootball, and to MONITOR plant moisture by WEIGHT. Lift the pot after watering. You will know it needs water when the pot almost feels empty.
I bought a grafted ficus bonsai from the store and it has 2 main grafts( like handle bars). my problem is that the grafts are growing faster than the trunk, forming a bulge or reverse taper...how can i corect that problem?
Hi can you help me with my ginseng ficus bonsai I repotted it and I don't think it's ok it is sick because it's not sprouting new leaves I wish I could post the picture of it
Every plant needs at least some sunlight or it will die. Remember photosynthesis from school? If the rooms you want to put plants in does not get a lot of sunlight, look at plans that can survive in low light like ferns. Their natural environment does not provide a lot of light
by sunlight you mean direct sunlight, YES, a ficus can survive without direct sunlight meaning if it is in the shade. but if you mean without sunlight at all, like in the basement then NO.
I need a piece of advice. my ficus benghalensis is growing just straight without sprouting branches at all. I have tried cutting it back as well. but it still got only one head and keeps growing straight up. how can I get branches at the stem? it's pretty thick with around 6cm diameter.
Excelent video. Thank you for sharing this. I also live in Holland so the tips are very useful :) Who is the panelist? Do you have a store in Holland for bonsai?
thank you for discussing about ficus bonsai. though it is one of the most common material used, its resilience is perfect for bonsai. sir, can defoliation and root pruning be done on ficus at the same time? if its ok, what time of the year is advisable to do it? thank you again, sir, looking forward for your reply.
I think my mum over watered my bonsai ficus. The roots are all wet! And I don't mean the soil... I'm scared... should I replant it? Soon it will be on the tranches...
i guess that should be no problem make sure the water can flow out of the pot. This sould be working with some drainage holes in the pot. Some people even dive their bonsai in water so the roots and the soil is all soaked up
i bought one and i put it indoor on the window kitchen , it has direct day light but no sun light . i am noticing that the leavs are falling , theres something wrong , any help guys please
The most common cause for dropping ficus leaves is that its environment has changed. Often, you will see ficus leaves drop when the seasons change. The humidity and temperature in your house also changes at this time and this can cause ficus trees to lose leaves. If this is affecting your tree, the leaves on the ficus tree may be yellow in addition to falling off. To help with this, try to keep your ficus tree’s environment as stable as possible. Keep it away from drafty windows and doors, air conditioners and heaters. Use a humidifier in the winter, when the air gets dry. And, once you have placed your ficus tree in your home, do not move it. Incorrect watering - Under watering or over watering both can cause a ficus tree to lose leaves. In an improperly watered ficus tree may have yellowing leaves and the ficus tree leaves may curl. Water the soil only when the very top of the soil is dry, but also make sure that your ficus tree’s pot has good drainage. If you accidentally let your ficus tree’s soil dry out completely, you may need to soak the tree’s container in the tub for an hour to properly rehydrate the soil. If you have overwatered, root rot may have set in and you will need to treat the ficus tree for that. Too little light - Another reason for ficus tree leaves falling off is that the tree is getting too little light. Often, a ficus tree that is getting too little light will look sparse and spindly. New leaves may also appear pale or even white. In this case, you should move the ficus tree to a location where it will get more light. Pests - Ficus trees are susceptible to a few pests that can cause a ficus tree to drop leaves. Often, a sure sign of a pest problem will be that the leaves on the ficus tree will be sticky or have liquid dripping off them as well as falling off. If this is the problem, you will need to treat the plant with insecticide like neem oil. Fungus - Ficus trees are also occasionally affected by fungus, which can make the tree drop its leaves. Often, a ficus tree with a fungus will have yellow or brown spots on the leaves. To correct treat this reason for ficus tree leaves falling off, use fungicide (like neem oil) on the tree. Goeie video 🍀
Best video on this topic...learned a lot, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
My ficus ginseng is about 15 years now. still going strong. it has had some tough times where it has lost all it's leaves. but now it's all good.

A very good presentation and style. Thanks
Interesting. Thx.
Is it possible to have the same kind of video for pomegranate?

Dry like succulent dry or little dry????
Little dry
Can you make a Jacaranda tree into a bonsai
Absolutely - www.bonsaiempire.com/tree-species/jacaranda
let it dry ??????? I would say "when substact is on its way to turn dry, water it"
whatis the best soil for ficus bonzai?
This video contains some faults. The ficus can go as low as 4 degrees. The best time to repot a ficus is in the middel of the summer.
