My first time in Maui was 1981. Yes! Whalers Village used to be a tiny strip mall back then. I’ve been back many times over the years and seen the changes and growth of the island. My thoughts are with the people of Lahaina town. Be strong ❤
Whaler's Village and Kaanapali Beach. The Hula Grill has great food. What a beautiful part of the West part of Maui. I will come back, that's for sure. MAHALO. ❤😊
Went there in 1998. What a difference. Am glad to see McDonalds wasn't there anymore in the food court. Maui Dive Shop is now Maui Divers Jewelry. My wife and I got a few hours away from our infant son and ate at the nice restaurant there. I didn't notice the whaling museum in the center anymore. That was an interesting place.
Yes lots of new stuff at the food court. I believe the whaling museum was replaced with the Hawai'i Wildlife Discovery Center. It's a really cool spot to checkout next time your here! Mahalo for watching! 🤙
The tourists will get familiar with the area and will not remember Lahaina in the Future. That will give the Government time to develop a new strategy to develop a new modern city.
WHY is this the only income for this area ? WHY would people travel from all over the world to "shop" when you are in HAWAII So VERY sad Fl here all about the tourist so semi understand. What a waste of nature. VERY SAD

After the debris is cleared they will build a world class mall, with gucci and the like
Yes , l always had a picture in my mind of an Island paradise, unspoilt, it's a real shame somewhere so beautiful should be so commercialised .
