- Updated for 2024! - The Ka’anapali Beach Path is a scenic and accessible walking trail located on Maui’s west coast, in Hawai'i. It’s a paved path that stretches from the Hyatt on one end to the Sheraton at the other.

Just north of Black Rock, past the Royal Lahaina is a cute, nice restaurant,,,, Castaway Cafe,,,,Amazing Banana Bread…..

297 more days & will be my 6th visit to the Hyatt Residence. A once a year plan for the time being while I figure out how to be permanent resident.
So this area not affected by wildfire? I have a question. I do have 2 Marriott free night certificates that I can book either at Residence inn in Wailea beach area or at the Sheraton resort in mid-May. Which one would you recommend?
The town that supported the Kaanapali area is devastated by the fires. Kaanapali Beach neighborhood didn't have any fire damage. Sheraton is an ocean front resort, so if you are going to spend lots of your trip at the beach or Ocean that would be our suggestion.

I have a trip coming up. My sis-n-laws friend lives out there, she says that the locals don't want tourist on the west and it might get hostile. Is this true?
Aloha, thanks for your comment. The majority of locals are not hostile and welcome tourists. Just like any area, be respectful and don't go into the burn zone. Where are you staying?
As mentioned, be respectful and DO NOT ask anyone if they were affected by the fire. Many people who work at the hotels, restaurants, retail and other businesses in that area were affected.
is it free to go inside Hyatt to see the penguins?
Yes, you can walk by and check them out. They are super neat!

Our road to recovery is going to be quite long.
Been there/ Done that I won with a ferocious tooth ache back in 1988. 'Nice place, but it HAS to tip the scales as being one of the most "pricey" places I've ever been to. The trip to Hana was amazing on that little "goat-path" of a "Highway". 'Think I'll stay on HHI SC, but please don't come here O.K.?
