Tiger should have came into the market like Shaq did with a price point that any golfer could afford and then eventually jacked the price up. Kind of like a reverse PXG marketing tactic.
Yes, no one cares about the new brand at all. None of my friends care at all. The logo looks ordinary; it doesn't leap out at me like a tiger should! In fact it looks like a cost reduced Shark logo without any imagination. Your call on the fossiled logo is spot on. Tiger thinks that they the fans will follow him but I cant see it. I love the Shark brand of golf clothes because they are good quality & do the job which is what I'm after; easy. Is this to draw attention to the PGA rather than LIV. I would say not. I can't watch the PGAT these days after LIV & I'm in my 50's. The LIV Adelaide event has already sold 100,000 tickets for this April's event which is awesome.
He should have just ponied up the cash and bought the Thundercats logo, now that would have been cool Use that same logo to start a LIV team and fill the roster with his yes men (some combination of Spieth, Scheffler, Thomas, Fowler, Burns, Homa, Zalatoris, and Horschel) Now that would be lit and he could create untold amount of merchandise with that

The big thing I noticed when I spent my 3 minutes watching the LA Open over the weekend was how few spectators were on the course. Hardly anyone was hanging around 18 green after it ended to watch the award ceremony, and this was with Matsuyama winning. Can 't wait to see how many show up next week to watch the NOT-Honda! Kevin - excellent point. How many players now rely on Taylor for at least driver? Ball? Irons? And changing any of that is no easy task. Adding to the problem of gear changes is “the clock” and “the campaign”. Every year you’re a year less young (speed, strength, recovery, endurance). Every campaign has a beginning and end - you want your game to peak at tournament time. However, campaign cycles aren’t continuous. Interrupting your clock or campaign with a gear change is a high risk situation.
Between the TGL, TGR Design (championship courses + popstroke mini golf), restaurants, and now Sun Day Red, he's definitely pivoting to ventures for business life after competitive golf. The problem with starting a golf inspired lifestyle brand now is that the market is already flooded with them and they cover varying demographics/age groups. Also it's not just touring pros that have gotten into the act. Now you have golf influencers like Good Good, Fore Play Golf (Barstool), etc that promote apparel or have started their own. The other thing when I think of Tiger, I don't exactly think style or trend setter when it comes to clothing and apparel. I think Sun Day Red will stick around because Tiger has a lot of money and its an easy way to promote his bigger overall "brand" but I don't see it becoming a hot seller that changes the landscape of golf lifestyle/apparel.

Tiger is used to squeezing fans and sponsors for every last dollar while doing the least amount of work possible. The easy money is drying up for tiger. Besides, Greg and jack owned their businesses and put their money wheee their mouth was, tiger never invests in anything. He only collects on the sweat of others
It’s possible that the company that gets people to spend $600 a year on a new driver that can go 30 yards farther might be able to get people to buy a shirt.
The best brand for clothing in golf comes from an old movie star. It's modern, appealing to the young crew who weren't even from his generation and has an awesome logo. William Murray Golf
SDR looks like a cheap UK brand called Slazenger. Massive letdown but I agree that I can’t imagine TW cares too much, as long as it suits him and the hardcore fans. I still prefer PGA tour format but it’s impossible to ignore the talent on LIV… lessens the impact of pga tour wins. It will hype up the majors though which is something 🥳
I do believe James Bond 007 played a Slazenger1 golf ball in Goldfinger. James Bond was flash man, couldn't see him using cheap stuff.Players such as Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Tom Weiskopf, Tom Watson and Johnny Miller also used Slazenger products.
Growing up in the UK during the 50’s Slazenger was a major sporting equipment brand. In addition to golf they also had cricket, tennis and many other sports covered.
I guess it was supposed to be called "SUNDAY RED" but Tiger then realized him ever still playing on the Sunday (4th day) of any competition is a bit far-fetched 😂
Tiger has a lot of fans and I believe his clothes will do well for many years to come even in this ridiculously crowded market. The logo leaves room for mockery but it’s not bad. It’s actually growing on me. But those 3 letters floating around will never grow on me because it just looks like bad design. So the ocd in me could never like that. I do wish he had a fist pump icon. Or even a classic tiger backswing or finish. But that’s just me. I would probably simply call the line:Tiger …and use Sunday red or sun day red more as a slogan such as: Your Sunday red. But imo tiger will do well With this line. The clothes look nice imo.
@@ThinkingManShowhonestly rich black guys alone will keep the business running. A bunch of athletes will Wear it. That will make others wear it. Surely Tiger will get shelf space which will help sell. He HAS to not use those 3 letters. But I honestly would wear it. Would I buy it myself? No but I truly don’t buy anything. But if my wife got me a shirt or a nice sweater I wouldn’t complain. I’m in my 40s
Bah! I would buy a PXG shirt first, and that would be very strange because I really don't like paying a premium to advertise for someone else. Maybe I could start my own line of apparel. It would called Three Putters Anonymous and feature really loud colors. If you play bad golf you should at least advertise you can laugh at yourself!
"Lifestyle" brand, you wear until the next lifestyle comes along. Life brand is so expensive, it's the last pants you'll buy. People that'll buy his clothes are so old they don't buy green bananas.
Called it early Thursday, Tiger would find a way to WD if the game was not there! He is no longer relevant on the golf course yet the Networks keep milking the cash cow.
I played a round last week with two 20yr old new golfers in Perth Australia. They were wearing Good Good clothing and using their balls. They are not aspiring to Tiger
Good question. Didn't ask. What I can say is that it shows that people here are prepared to pay sometimes 40-50% of the product value to have these items shipped literally half way around the world. And these products are not easily found. To me, that indicates the level of gap in our current market in Australia
I did some research - In Australia, LIV is broadcast on one of the major "Free to air" channnels. The PGA is viewable only on a subscription to FOXTEL (Fox Sports) which is the most expensive viewing subscription in Australia. So, if you're trying to "grow the game" with a younger audience in Australia, the LIV are all over it and the PGA are not. @@ThinkingManShow
Tiger's ego and head must be gargantuan if he thinks anyone is going to give a shyte. It's one thing if an athlete is in or around their prime promoting a self brand, but no one wants anything associated with a retiree. I don't get it! The only example I know of is Air Jordan shoes, but that's apples and oranges. If Jordan broke away from Nike and put out a new line, it wouldn't make any sense and those shoes are a clothing line unto them-self.
TW sold his soul long ago. He must have crossed his masters at some point and they have destroyed him for the most part, and are now using and abusing him at their pleasure. He was long ago done as a worthy human being and is now done as a useful golfer. He's just taking up space in any tournament he plays. Yes, I've long been a tiger hater. Have no use for him and since he became a board member I will not dedicate any of my time to the pga tour.
He will only care if he took money out of his Pocket which i seriously doubt he did. Hes trying to stay relevant but you have to complete a tournament and win it
He’s a top player. Just on record and achievement we put him 4th all time. Would like to go deep on the PED issue. If he’s clean, then he should welcome that scrutiny.
Sun Day Red is and will forever be a trash brand. It’s plain and was designed to hustle money from the diehard Tiger fan who is a brand snob. He should have taken the old TW logo and partnered with an established brand making his own line of clothes. The wannabe Puma logo makes me sick.
Tiger is the problem. He's not playing well. Anyone who shows up in tiger gear is going to get flack about not finishing the round. WD - TW is Tigers problem. He's getting a fail. People don't buy fail.
Tiger was a great golfer, but he’s never been a people person and has not yet shown any leadership qualities. What he has shown is keeping Tiger first. The sooner he rests on his laurels, the better for the PGA and golf. The apparel doesn’t matter. The logo, it just is and technically, logos are out, passé, no matter how cool his team thought it might be. If I bought a logo golf shirt it is because I like the guy, not because he once was a great golfer.
Tiger’s ball never juiced. You guys don’t know what you are talking about. World’s greatest golfer… you guys accuse him of cheating? Openly on your crappy little podcast? You are scraping the bottom now guys… first and last time I’m listening.
Thank you for watching LJD. it’s a matter of public record. The Nike juiced ball (aka one-piece ball) was in Tiger’s use starting after the 2000 Masters that VJ won. Tiger won the next 4 Majors in a row while no one else had the ball. Tiger had the very first modern, low spin go forever ball and no one else did until Titleist created their own version - Pro V1. A stunning advantage to give one player. Tiger’s run ended when everyone else got the Pro V1 and started getting used to it. Stevie Williams has said the Nike ball gave Tiger a 2 shot advantage each round - so 8 shots per tournament. Here is the story related by Golf Digest: www.golfdigest.com/story/how-tiger-woods-sparked-a-dramatic-shift-in-the-golf-ball-business
Tiger was but it’s Tiger who as he is so 2 yrs ago and he’s finished winning on the PGA tour, his best shot is to ride the cart with John Daly on the champions tour.Thats it.Sure the PGA players like the crowds he draws but to play with him is a nightmare ,if he’s having a bad day so is all around him with distractions to the other players.Thats what I see.
To me the Tiger brand stands for an outstanding golfer with an unassailable record. I don’t believe his life achievements are strong on personal integrity or ethical behaviour. On that basis , I don’t think he’s the right man to be heading up the PGA tour.

Besides, Greg and jack owned their businesses and put their money wheee their mouth was, tiger never invests in anything. He only collects on the sweat of others
Is the ball juiced? I dunno but but Eldrick surely is.
lol
Sun Day Red is Sun Day Dead. I wouldn't spend a cent on the narcissist. He should do us all a favour and retire.
It’s possible that the company that gets people to spend $600 a year on a new driver that can go 30 yards farther might be able to get people to buy a shirt.
30 yards farther? 😂 You mean like 2 yards.
@@Y0utubeCommentor I would argue 0 yards compared to the previous years driver in most cases 😆
The best brand for clothing in golf comes from an old movie star. It's modern, appealing to the young crew who weren't even from his generation and has an awesome logo.
William Murray Golf
Great gear, but a touch expensive for most.
Interesting. That is not the case now, cheap sports direct brand acquired by Mike Ashley which isn’t desirable
Growing up in the UK during the 50’s Slazenger was a major sporting equipment brand. In addition to golf they also had cricket, tennis and many other sports covered.
@@derekwhyle1884 shame they didn’t evolve as their market share now is negligible
Looks like the old Le Tigre logo from the 80's.
Clip art
This will work when Tiger wins a few more majors to surpass Jack.
He chould have just continued to wear Nike without getting paid. After all made $500 million from them.
Fri Day Quit
It wasn't the flu... it was a Hangover!
I would NEVER buy anything with the Tiger Woods name/logo on it.
Nope. Me either. Especially 175 polo, lol. 250 to 350 for a long sleeve cashmere sweater, lol.
Probably way over priced and not affordable for the people he’s trying to have access to the game.
Ok
Excellent virtue signaling 😅😅😅😅
@@Noeau way over priced.
I guess it was supposed to be called "SUNDAY RED" but Tiger then realized him ever still playing on the Sunday (4th day) of any competition is a bit far-fetched 😂
Compare Tiger's logo with other animal based logos like Slazenger, Puma, and Greyhound and you tell me what the difference is
The letters being spread out isn’t the move plus the tiger isn’t appealing. Definitely could have been better. Also Looking good darkstar!
Darkstar NOT wearing the fossil tiger.
I would probably simply call the line:Tiger
…and use Sunday red or sun day red more as a slogan such as:
Your Sunday red.
But imo tiger will do well With this line. The clothes look nice imo.
The fist pump would have been a good default Oahu. Taylor will sell some stuff - but to whom? Next gen?
Does Tiger really care. Probably not.
TGL is DOA just like Tigers shirts
If Nike is moving out of golf apparel you think they know something?
Ironic that the tiger on the apparel is dead.
He should have released his brand after a win, that would have stood for sucsess, now....its synonyme with failure
Wait for Charly🎉🎉🎉
I only buy all my shirts from the local thrift store for 2 bucks 😳 got a golf visor the other day with Tigers autograph on it for 4 dollars 😳
At one time his auto meant something😂🤣
In Oakland we steal em.
The logo looks awful. They should have stayed with the 3 triangle/claws from his brand. Name is silly with separating the words sun and day.
"Lifestyle" brand, you wear until the next lifestyle comes along. Life brand is so expensive, it's the last pants you'll buy. People that'll buy his clothes are so old they don't buy green bananas.
very much lol. cheers CW.
Called it early Thursday, Tiger would find a way to WD if the game was not there! He is no longer relevant on the golf course yet the Networks keep milking the cash cow.
The only way Tiger will win another major is to id as a chick and play on the LPGA.
But the LPGA’s sponsor is ARAMCO, which is a Saudi company soooo….
In that case Tigers got sweet F..k all chance of winning another major.@@geedubb-q1u
He can still win majors
What if he wore a Hijab with a tiger skeleton on it. Surely they couldn't complain about that.@@geedubb-q1u
Golf is dead.
Worth about $5
I played a round last week with two 20yr old new golfers in Perth Australia. They were wearing Good Good clothing and using their balls. They are not aspiring to Tiger
Were those 20 yo guys watching any pro golf?

If Tiger cared he wouldn’t have released such a terrible logo and name for his new line. Great pod as always.
Thx Cam............the fossil cat.
If he cared he could pay up for the right to use the Thundercats logo
Instant brand awareness
He could start a LIV team with that same name too
TW sold his soul long ago.
Understandable Sark.
He will only care if he took money out of his
Pocket which i seriously doubt he did.
Hes trying to stay relevant but you have to complete a tournament and win it
PGA tour is a fossil, dlbj how many players choked down the stretch is pitiful...I bet at least 54 people were watching.
More than 54.Some of their wives and kids were watching as well to see who their new friends will be.
Tigers sales will occur in China. That’s his market, Not in Saudi but China.
They are in a recession
Guy - is he hot in China? If so, was that not working for Nike TW?
If China is his market why are the shirts written in English?
@@billfairless6256 ..his Nike gear was also made in China soooo…..
@@stevef4010 …there’s over a Billion people in China. Not everyone is incapable of buying Tiger gear.
China
Logo looks like a skeleton of some animal, maybe a golden retriever? Or decomposed Puma logo?
or fossil cat.
Nike is a brand tiger new threads are a untied brand, just like trumps new shoes, either don't impress me
You may talk sarcastically about Tiger and his new shirt logo...who cares about that. You can't take away his record.
He’s a top player. Just on record and achievement we put him 4th all time.
Would like to go deep on the PED issue. If he’s clean, then he should welcome that scrutiny.
Tiger has a big problem - ego. He should bow out with a bit of grace.
Maybe he should open his own chain of "foot long sub" shops like he used to feed his 45 girl friends he had while married... Sick of Tiger
Corgi - you’re not alone in that sentiment.
Seve used blue on a Sunday. Tiger's red thing is just copying. He may have more majors but he'll never have the style and charisma of Seve
Nobody is going to buy Sun Day Red. And I’m the definition of a Tiger Woods fan. It’s just not a cool looking logo or name.
Well I junked Nike long ago, will not wear the new brand as he’s not my favourite personality.
TW never maximized potential sales...MJ so far ahead of him $$$ wise...
True.
Likely have to spot MJ has a better, bigger market.

Well said Derek.
Who cares? The fan boys who will spend $150 a shirt to sport Tiger wear.
Likely but not a sure thing oddly.
Stand Alone WTF is Stand Alone you mean hes Alone as the GOAT 🐐
