    Question / idea for future video: what do you think about other backhoes that are different from yours but more widely available (say a Case 580)? Thanks!

    Wheeeew!
    I was experiencing cold sweats, shivering, convulsions and general lack of sleep since your last video, and thinking I would not survive the withdrawal to see another one of your videos, but thank the lord you got one posted when you did...
    Course, it could a been that I was coming down with a bout of the "Corona Virus"... Ha, ha, ha...
    Thank you sir. Whew! Life is good now...

    Ran my 310J for the first time today (first time ever at that end of a backhoe) and you sir make it look easy!!! I dug out a bunch of fill we've dumped at our shop and tried to make a nice sloped swale for the water to run to and past the fill, the hardest part was trying to dig a 2-3" 8foot long little swale, trying to pull the arm back but not get it too deep was comical lol.

      J and B LawnCare you will get the hang of it! It’s really not too bad if you just put a bit of effort into it, if you can operate a backhoe on both ends you are gold on just about any other machine out there. The machine is capable.

      Takes time in the chair and listenin to ol Frank here with the best good pointers. When I was a little fart, my grandpas good friend who did a lot of excavator logging, road building, and land clearing here in Oregon always talked about having his two sons get on the excavator and run the bucket in and out a couple inches off the ground.............for hours. Then he'd have them walk it to a slope and do the same thing, now not everyone has a bunch of time to do that I know but even if you spent 20-30 minutes doing that whenever you had time would help you feel that machine out right quick. Plus side is you're not making a mess of any ground you would have to fix afterward, just pretend you're trenching or pulling some slopes and build the muscle memory for when you do put those teeth in the dirt. Also like Frank says, "anyone can do this"............and you can get there and truly isn't as hard as you may think, just takes time, patience, and not quittin. Good luck and safe diggin

    I’ve seen simple jobs like that massacred! Great to see you gavel it that Frank touch.. won’t require one more shovel of concrete than necessary.

    We have older case backhoes with stick controls , I would hate to try and dig a footer with one of those. Pilot control is the only way to go .

    • @Digginok
      @Digginok  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Used to be a guy I knew that ran case controls, he could sling dirt and dig some clean ditch. But I prefer the pilots.

    Nice video as always. Was wondering when we’d get some more footing action. Have you ever considered getting laser for the boom so you didn’t have to have a grade checker?

    Alignment 10/10
    Depth 10/10
    Neatness 10/10
    Speed 5/10
    Complete cycle to partially fill each bucket.
    Yes I know it compacts the side of your trench.
    I'd hire you in a heartbeat.
    My job sites are all about speed (plant hire).
    If you're not quick enough your off-hire.
    Like your videos, all that being said.
    Cheers

      B Shorty thanks I have a 4 hour minimum, job took less than 1-1/2 hours, why rush. But whatever, a few extra minutes to save a couple yards of concrete is usually appreciated. As you should know every job is different, if you had a full bucket every cycle you would have busted the sides off of the ditch. That means you have to move more dirt, that takes more time. Id rate your comment 6/10 😂

    Nice control! I wish I had ground like that at our lot. Our property is pebbled with 3' to 4' boulders. Largest one is 9'x7'x7' boulder. Compliments of the latest ice age. Cheers from Canada.

      Oklahoma, it is commonly called red select. Good clay content holds things together as well as some good compaction. As for babies digging it, I once was one, grew up digging it. Thanks for watching

    • @Digginok
      @Digginok  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s pretty high if you are going to work it every day, if it’s just for farm or personal use it would probably be fine. Not sure how well Volvo is with parts, that can be a big problem. I really don’t have enough experience with the Volvo backhoe to give you a good answer.

    • @Digginok
      @Digginok  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeffery Smith I still have mine on the two stick pattern. Extendahoe is buttons on the right joystick. I cut my teeth on an old ford 4 stick, sometimes wish I had one, but the joysticks are best in my opinion.
