@@Viktor_G_Automotive I had to do this today it boggles my mind that Toyota and all their Infinite Wisdom cannot make an unclip-able seat. @@mastathrash5609 it’s probably because the seats have airbags built into them and Toyota doesn’t want you to mess with disconnecting those when you’re removing the seats, so they bolt them in “permanently” instead of building quick connects into them.

@@andytan9238 The 2 yellow connectors on each seat are for the side airbag and seatbelt pretensioner. The other connector is for things like seatbelt clip detection, seat heater etc. The resistors are installed to trick the SRS ECU into thinking the airbags are still there so that it doesn’t set a fault code. Are your seatbelts for the 2nd row built into the seats or are they built into the body of the van? From the wiring diagrams it kind of looks like the seatbelt retractor assemblies are on either side of the van body instead of inside the seat. If that is the case, there is no need for 4 resistors, just 2 resistors for the yellow side seat airbag connectors under the seats. Make 100% sure that you got the correct 2.2 Ohm resistors (measure their resistance with a multimeter with the resistor out of the vehicle) and that they are inserted fully. It is possible it's just a bad resistor contact inside the connector, I had that happen once when I pulled the seats out. Wiggle the resistor pins in the connector to make sure they make good contact and make sure they are inserted into the actual female pins in the connectors, not in a wrong spot beside the pins.
@@בנמיןמנהיים they definitely do work, hundreds of people have installed them by now. Make sure they are installed into proper pins and fully inserted. Double check it because it is possible to install them incorrectly into the wrong spot on the connector.
@ they are the yellow connectors shown in the video. You wouldn’t need a diagram as each only has two wires. However, the connectors have what may appear as 4 holes in them. I’ve seen people try to stick them in the wrong spots on the connectors, or not insert the resistor legs in far enough to make contact. Also, you could scan the SRS ECU for fault codes and that will tell you which specific connector(s) are having the issue.
Word of advice. MAKE SURE NOT TO SHORT THE RESISTER LEGS! It will throw a hard error code that cannot be reset without an advanced ODB reader. My dealer gave me a free reset but cautioned that any code again would cost $190 to reset. Also they did figure out I had removed the seats.
@@Over50YearsOffgrid good suggestion. If you accidentally make that mistake again, you can also purchase a scan tool to clear the code for less than the $190 the dealer wants to charge you.
Not sure how I would reach you the Dealership wants to charge me $600 to clean my Toyota Sienna 2021 hybrid fan/filter/ducts is this something I could easily do myself?
This is literally all that's stopping me from buying Toyota. If DODGE of all people can figure out that we want stow and go-type seating for all seats other than the front two, why tf hasn't Toyota gotten the memo?
To be fair, a Pacifica Hybrid doesn't have Stow and Go either. Also, I bet Chrysler has some patent on it. If they do, that's pretty smart on them because I would have definitely bought from another brand if someone else had it.
Toyota if you are watching this vid. At least make the seat recline all the way flat, if you really have to install the airbag. But if you ask, most people still wants the removable seat back. Dont punish the majority of us. Just because some idiot dont know how to install the removable seat back in place and ended up getting hurt in the process
I’m a man who knows my limitations so this is definitely a no go for me. Further I would not trust the dealership to do this right, much less a independent garage.
Toyota did away with the removable 2nd row because there were some injuries related to customers not securing them properly when putting the seats back in.
Yes, my former manager launched a complaint a week after I quit my job. Now I make sure to blur the logos on my uniform and make a disclaimer before the videos.

Sorry for the confusion; I removed the seats and will not reinstall them. My fear is that, if someone presses the overhead rear seat heater switch, it would overload a resistor. If it's just the 3rd connector that is unattached, no problem.
Thanks again

Thanks Victor! Question about resistors, I'm guessing get the 3w? is that correct?
Hi, the wattage isn't critical as there is almost no current passing through them, but he 3W ones are going to be more robust, so I would get those.
Does it need to be a 3 watt 2.2 ohm resistor? Will a 2 watt 2.2 ohm resistor work without burning out?

@@mastathrash5609 any time!
@@Viktor_G_Automotive I had to do this today it boggles my mind that Toyota and all their Infinite Wisdom cannot make an unclip-able seat. One that you don't have to undo bolts like if they can mount tracks around the battery in the hybrid I don't understand why they can't make a rail system that can make them removable with strength and mabey an extra hand.
@@mastathrash5609 it’s probably because the seats have airbags built into them and Toyota doesn’t want you to mess with disconnecting those when you’re removing the seats, so they bolt them in “permanently” instead of building quick connects into them.
@Viktor_G_Automotive you are probably correct. I couldn't see where they stuffed em (the airbags themselves), but I unplugged it easy and got them out so it was a success! Second time your channel has helped me out this week alone, I'm not Factory trained but I am well trained in general and you're a good, quick teacher, so I appreciate it.🤘
Hi Viktor, This is a great video. So, I am going to need 4 resistors (2 per seat?)! By any chance the 2.2 Ohms resistors will work also for 2025 Sienna Woodland edition? Many many thanks for your time to contribute to the Sienna community!
@@andytan9238 hi, yes, 4 resistors, works for any model 2021-25 Sienna. Cheers!
Thanks for the quick reply. Would you please share on the purposes of the 3 connectors per seat? Assuming the last connector is for the airbag, what are the first two connectors for? Why don’t we need three resistors for the 3 connectors? Thanks again for your time!
It doesn’t care if the seat heater is disconnected or seatbelt is unclipped, therefore you don’t need to do any other trickery.

The resistors are likely not inserted fully or properly, causing the airbag light to come on. You can check my Sienna battery replacement video to see how to initialize the sliding doors. Essentially, just close them manually.
@@Viktor_G_Automotive Any suggestion to which holes and how far to insert them ? All other systems reset ok ! Thanks
@@themoat3677 when you unplug the connectors, you will see one end has male pins and one end has female pins (holes).
Insert the resistor legs into the female pins that the male pins originally went into, all the way in until the resistor legs cannot go in anymore.
I tried these resistors they don’t work i’m trying to figure something else cause my airbag light is on
@@בנמיןמנהיים they definitely do work, hundreds of people have installed them by now. Make sure they are installed into proper pins and fully inserted. Double check it because it is possible to install them incorrectly into the wrong spot on the connector.
@ do you have a diagram of the right pins?
@ they are the yellow connectors shown in the video. You wouldn’t need a diagram as each only has two wires. However, the connectors have what may appear as 4 holes in them. I’ve seen people try to stick them in the wrong spots on the connectors, or not insert the resistor legs in far enough to make contact.
Also, you could scan the SRS ECU for fault codes and that will tell you which specific connector(s) are having the issue.
Thank you a lot of help. Plz are you from Ottawa?
No problem! I am in Alberta.

This is literally all that's stopping me from buying Toyota. If DODGE of all people can figure out that we want stow and go-type seating for all seats other than the front two, why tf hasn't Toyota gotten the memo?
