RAR is just amazing!!! I don’t do the book clubs regularly but the mama circles with Sarah are so good for me to get perspective. I would highly recommend. She has a whole resource about how to just use books instead of a reading curriculum. I am from a conservative background: grew up in Amish/Mennonite circles. CLE is a Mennonite company and typically Amish and Mennonite don’t go past 8th grade. Rod and Staff is another one.

A Christmas Carol is such a great choice for high schoolers ..and there are so many movie adaptations (I was raised on the 1984 version of it..though the 1951 movie version is the gold standard as far as adaptations are concerned.).
Hi!! Great ideas!! yes!!! I AM LOVING READ ALOUD REVIVAL! After several weeks of listening to podcasts and devouring their website I decided to become a three month member to try it out and I am definitely going to continue. Sarah is awesome! Your kids will love it! Give it a try.
We have switched math to CTC too. We did teaching textbooks from 3rd to prealgebra for my oldest and we looked at SO MANY OPTIONS. Not to mention that some were SO STINKIN EXPENSIVE. I'm excited to see how it works out for my boys this year.
We love Read Aloud Revival! I have yet to replace our LA curriculum with RAR, but we could. I just haven't taken the time to make a plan for using it that way! I love that my children have learned so much about books and about being an author through the RAR Book Clubs. We print out the Book Club Guides, get the book at the library and make wonderful memories around books together!

For 9th grade my son has started the Learn Math Fast System…amazing! Writing: Veritas Press Composition 1 Vocabulary: Word Roots Level 3 Grammar: Life of Fred Literature: Notgrass History:Notgrass Science: Friendly Biology
I did a Progeny Press guide for Hound of the Baskervilles (a Sherlock Holmes mystery) with my 7th and 9th graders at the end of this year, and it was SOOOOOO good! Highly recommend that one! And nothing inappropriate.
I love it! When you get going on CTC please do a review? I briefly tried a couple years ago but, I don’t think I was using it correctly. How do you do your memory work? Like the same cards for a week then move on? Would love to do this for this year.
Yes! I will be sharing that once we have done it for a little while! For memory work I’d say it depends on what you’re working on. If it’s short we may just work on it for a week. If it’s a long piece of something we might take a couple weeks. I think it just depends on what we’re working on. BUT my goal is to get more consistent with it either way! ❤️
We did the CLE Algebra 1 course this past year, and halfway through my son REALLY struggled. We didn't have outside support, which is really hard when you get into upper-level math studies. This coming year, we've switched to an online program, too.
Yes! I have a giant bowl of big fluffy sourdough sitting on the counter ready to be baked!!! I don’t like kefir….but I’ve only tried it once. I have a friend encouraging me to try it again too!

We were using CLE (thanks to you) and she did well with it, but she needs something different to help her understand it better. I was looking into Denison Math but it's quite pricey. CTC is much more affordable and can be used for both of my kids which is wonderful. Do you know how long are the CTC math lessons? She's worried that the lessons would be too long being online. When we did TT years ago online, she really struggled with it.
That’s so cool our kids are the same grades! I’m glad you enjoyed CLE while you used it! ❤️ CTC lessons are actually pretty short from what we saw, especially coming from CLE! We just did a few sample problems but they were only a couple minutes long for the videos. Try the free trial online and have her test it out! That helped so much! ❤️

I’m a new homeschool mom my 17 year old was with her dad n long story short is she is behind 2 years so she’s in ninth grade n we started connections Accademy n it’s been no help n push push to threaten to kick her off mind u she started late n expected way to much out of any human in a short time

I hear that the Progeny Press literature guides are awesome and covers Reading Comprehension and more. I haven't used them myself yet.

We only have the answer keys. I don't think you need the teacher's guides. We just need the keys to grade.
