I have to admit that I was laughing the whole time! Steven, your facial expressions are hysterical ! And when did the haircut happen? Wow, you guys are really rockin' the camping life! 😆👍🏼💇🏻♂️🏕️
Glad you enjoyed it. Thought we’d add some humour. I cut Steve’s hair a few weeks ago. At a campsite 🤣
Looks great
I almost forgot that Steve was a carpenter before going on the road and his skills made this build look awesome.
Yes he’s very talented and the carpenter skills made it easier. Thanks glad you enjoyed it.
Andrea and Steven, you're making such progress.👏🏻🤗 Thank you for sharing the updates, and the behind the scenes efforts, and support involved, with us. It's looking great.🎵💛🌞
Thank you Rhonda. At least I can cook inside now and we’re not cramped. See you on our next adventure.
@@PinInTheAtlas That's what's important. 💛🤗
Amazing video! Very entertaining and hilarious. Great vibes from the synth tunes
Oh, yeah! Great vid! Steven - the ultimate, barefoot craftsman. "Don't need no stinkin' directions!" Never seen a dude work so fast! 😅Andrea - the long-suffering, kind superintendent and marketer. "Look what we have done!" 😎 Enjoy you 2 so much! So good you could update and customize your digs. Bon Voyage!
Thanks David. Thought we’d add some humour 🤣 and I can now stand up to cook and keep out of the rain and wind. Bonus.
looking great keep up with your travels.
Thanks Ken. See you on the next adventure.
Loved the video. That is right up my alley, I build things.
Glad you enjoyed it. Still a work in progress but the potential is unlimited.
Hope to see you on our adventures. We post new explore content every Tuesday.
Great photography! :-) Looked like a fun build!
Thank you very much Norm.
🎉🎉🎉 I am so happy for you two. It looks great!
Thanks Jen and there’s a special seat for you. 😝
Glad Steve got a haircut. Looks awesome for the rebuild or makeover.
Thanks Arleen. I’m quite handy with the scissors
Watching THIS was very different from one's in the past and the musical effects was quite impressive. A first class ticket and I'll always fly with you.
Thank you Edward. Really appreciate your kind words. Still have a few things to do with the topper but going to live with it for a while to get used to the new fit.
Steve it looks great and Andrea thank you for the support in coffee and biscuits amazing video guys !
Thank you we’re happy with how it turned out. Just a few more things to finish it up!
❤
Y'all are such a joy. Nice job. Y'all know if you ever get around here, you better stop in and say hi. Be 😎
Of course we will Richard. Couldn’t miss out on one of your breakfasts 😋
I was shocked! Shocked that you toss a piece of paper on the ground! Oh the humanity of it all.🤭
🤣 oh Wayne. That was for show. We never litter and always leave campsites cleaner than we find them.
@@PinInTheAtlas It be our little secret.🤫🤭
@@waynebender8835 🤣
Great build video. Loved the humor! Haha. Thanks guys
Glad you enjoyed it Chris and brought a smile to your face.
Another awesome video with my pin and coffee ☕ good morning love ya 💗
Good morning Raymond.
Glad you enjoyed our build.
Guys , I did not get this one in my feed 😢 looking now ! Tonto is looking dope and rugged and real comfy 🤙🏽 man I want a topper home !
Lots of people aren’t being notified for some reason. Even our Tuesdays posts. Maybe go back in and redo the notification making sure it’s on all!
Glad you like the refit. We’re loving it. I can stand and cook keeping out of the bad weather. We wonder how we survived in our old topper shell for 2 years!!!
came out the back door at work red Tacoma with a four wheel on it caught me off guard hadn't seen any in Dallas Oregon so that obviously a good company
We have been really impressed so far Brian.
That was amazing 👍🤗
Thanks Joe. Glad you enjoyed it. Still have some things to figure out. Heating being one of them!!
Hope to see you on more of our adventures.
BEST WISHES...
Someone got a haircut looks good Andrea lol just kidding its good to see your face Steven. Also I really like the Tonto set up Im looking for my own, so really informative TY
You’re welcome Colleen glad you enjoyed it.
Lookin' good! Most of that space on the sides is usually unusable with slide-ins. It's definitely something to keep in mind for those looking into truck campers.
Most of my metal cuts look perfect from ten feet with a squint too😂 "if ya squint, it's mint".
The hatch looks like it makes sense now, great job! I'd still recommend a little touch-up paint on the tail gate even if it looks a bit sloppy. White is very forgiving, so it'll look fine 👍 Thanks for sharing the update!
Yes a few of those cuts exist too, they just found a home away from the view of the camera! The back hatch went right back into shape and closes like a dream now and yes the touch up paint is next on the list when we can find another spot to do some more work on it. Very happy with how it turned out tho a few more tweaks and we will be styling!
@PinInTheAtlas Nice! We can see why your happy with it, we like it better than ours lol
Nice upgrades. Oh! I saw you kids on Jenni's live feed the other day. You all should think about having one.😊
Thanks Cody.
The live stream was a first for us. Contemplating on doing one ourselves. See if more people are interested in it.
@@PinInTheAtlas I'll be there!
Nice Pin surprise on saturday! :-)
Just wondering about the window-shutters: the cardboard was just used to make templates? Loved the 'proletarian' way of getting the cardboard :-D
🤣 yes just for templates.
Like the improvements, including the elimination of that greasy mop.
🤣thank you.
You two have come along way.. keep moving on up as the Jefferson s would say. Steve looks much more comfortable with short hair. It’s nice to see Steve working out. I am glad u two are living comfortably finally 😊😊
Still have to figure out heating of some sort. Nothing too large or takes too much fuel. Hope to find something that we can plug in to the battery without draining it!
@@PinInTheAtlas do you s have an inverter.
@@PinInTheAtlas somehow u could install a small generator and use an inverter. Than u could have an electric heater. Or some kind of propane.
@@tinadelwiche416 yes we do. Plugs into the lithium battery. That’s how we use the electric blanket
@@tinadelwiche416 don’t want to use propane causes too much condensation. I think a generator would be too big. We don’t have the space
Hi Steve and Andrea, fascinated to see how you are achieving the cramming of a gallon into a pint pot! I love the modular construction system using square section aluminium tubing. Dare I ask if you have any high tech washing/sanitary fascilities on board, or just a spade for digging? Great fun to live in Tonto for a week, but I fear I am an old softy who values hot and cold running water and central heating far too much!
Thanks Brian. We have to be minimalists 😂 we do have a portable loo and shower. But can only use the shower in warm weather so we go to truck stops and if we’re lucky some free campsites off showers.
No heating though. Still researching that.
Looking good. But will you be strapping down the ice chest/ frig. Hope it doesn't fall. Thank you for sharing and God Bless you and your family. 🥰💯💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍👍(🌹🐞🦂🌵)
Hi Rose. The stand is bolted to the sides and the fridge sits in the stand. So far so good. It shouldn’t fall. But we do have straps if need be.
Hahaha great fix 😂
I gave you a thumbs up because I did not have anything smart-assie to say.
OK, I would have given you a thumbs up anyway... 👍
🤣thank you.
Nice work. Quick question. Where did you find the plastic attachment that connects to the bottom of the back door? It looks excellent for keeping water out between the door and tailgate
Thank you. It’s two parts we bought garage door seal from Lowes for about $8.00 and a small piece of light gauge aluminium L-metal that attaches over the seal to protect it and keep it snug to the bottom of the door. Hope that helps!
What did you use to frame your cabinets and benches. And where can you buy it.
Looks great
Glad you like it.
We actually got the materials from four wheel campers. Not sure what company they get them from.
Love the build! What kind of aluminum pieces did you use in the build out ?
Aluminium square tubing. We actually got all the materials from 4 wheel campers.
Great job! Where did you guys order the aluminium from? :)
Thanks. Actually from 4wheel campers.
Where did you put the Loo?
It’s a portable one which we can tuck away.
What happened to Steven's hair?
I chopped it off!
Curious how you manage mosquitoes/flies and other bugs when the back is fully open?
We have a large mosquito net that we throw over and tuck in.
Do u have a materials list? Thank you.
Sorry for the delay Joe. This is what we ordered for our build on the Tacoma. We did have some leftover as we had plans to make the cabinets larger.
Square aluminium tubing.
16 pieces at 6 feet.
32 pieces at 18 inches.
18 pieces at 16 inches.
16 pieces at 12 inches.
Plastic sheeting.
4 sheets at 6 foot by 18 inches.
2 sheets at 6 foot by 24 inches.
2 sheets at 6 foot by 16 inches.
1 sheet at 3 foot by 18 inches.
76 plastic joining ends.
Where did you get the aluminum and panels? What are they called?
The materials came from 4 wheel campers and is the same material that encloses the lithium battery. Sorry don’t know the name. But it’s 1/2 inch aluminium tubing and a composite material
How did you solve the infamous tacoma front bed leak?
4wheel campers repositioned the topper and put extra sealer on. So far it’s been working.
This we watched all the way through once we had skipped the usual drawn out intro. We found it really interesting to watch. I would not want to spend a day in there, let alone sleep and live around this confined space. There is more room in a prison cell and a proper toilet. However, we do realise it is a lifestyle choice and we are all different.
It certainly is a lifestyle not everyone could do. But we enjoy the freedom, the wide open spaces and the opportunity to explore and document places that others don’t see.
