Watching the early stages of Pat's career just brought a smile to my face, just for me to remember his inevitable fate. This guy was literally my childhood, I feel terrible for the fate of the channel.

I think I started watching them a while after they hit 1mil subs, but I stopped after their divorce as I realized I was only subbed to them because of how much I *used* to watch them
Yeah with pat it’s nice kind and a chill dude but with himself alone I didn’t truly feel populermmos until Jen came to camera then we had funny kind heartfelt and just overall cute and fun to watch their bonding but it just slipped away into the mud of the downfall of populermmos
Yeah it was a mistake to include her into the channel. It wasn't a gaming channel anymore it was just some reality relationship channel like the Bachelorette and that set him up for failure.

Imma be honest, popularmmos was why I started exercising and playing sports, and made a cringy YT channel (I'm sure most of us had that one). Pat seemed to have so much joy in his life and it made me happy a happy 9 year old. Good times, screw highschool. It's also kinda funny he's a huge buff guy who likes cats.

I feel so lost when I get reminded of these guys. Pat and Jen were like my parents for years upon years of para social interaction… and they never did anything to mess that up, we all just grew apart. I grew up, Jen wanted to start a family, Pat wanted to continue with his passion, and no one did anything horrible, no one cheated, no one embezzled, everything just faded…
It's the sad truth, but we can take comfort knowing they were both accepting of what happened and never pinned the problem on the other, remaining good and happy friends.
It's actually heartbreaking to see that his first marriage didn't work out, his second girlfriend turned out to be just a drama fest, he got arrested (I've heard twice), and now if you look both he and Jen haven't posted a video on either of their channels in almost a year. This might be the biggest abandoned channel I've ever seen.
And to this day, he still makes videos and tries to connect with his audience, giving them the best performances he can give. He's honestly a really great guy who built my childhood, I can't help but feel so bad for him after all of this
To be honest, he probably doesn’t need the money from his channel as is. He could probably live out his life with the money he has but I feel really bad for him with the things that have been going on. This guy shaped me as a kid and he shouldn’t be getting hate for trying to move on. I want the best for Pat and I hope that he comes out happy and not like some other people who have hurt themselves because of a toxic online community.
I’m sure he’s made plenty from TH-cam and probably still makes decent money, but if the divorce was messy or there were issues with the division of assets (since Jen definitely has a right to some of that theorized six million dollars in TH-cam money), he might be worse off than we think. It might even be a big part of his growing stress and worsening mental state, unfortunately :(

I know I am very late to comment but who else almost cried when watching this. They were a huge part of my childhood and many others as well. So sad to see how their life changed so fast.
Pat is amazing for all the right reasons. He tries his hardest to entertain his fans without it affecting him. And despite his problems, he handled them by being a mature person. He didn't publicly cry about, but he publicly explained and apologized. He always smiles, laugh and manages to share that with people without him even knowing. Even with the break up with Jen. He handles it with absolute maturity and didn't cause a scene throughout the entirety of his career. Even Jen handled it like an absolute champ. Sure, both of them were great together and their decision to get a divorce was hard for them and for us, they tried their best to stay calm, collected and cool for everyone else. His target demographic is mostly for kids, yet ironically he doesn't like to have kids of his own. But beyond his knowledge, he has raised millions of us, and even though we have forgotten about him, we are more than thankful to be apart of his community
I felt like I outgrew him a while back and I disliked the direction he went for a while, but it’s sad to see where he went. It’s so upsetting to see kids who don’t understand divorce at all think that they know what’s best.
I kind of stopping following once he fell more clickbaited with videos, but I still respected him because it was one of those channels I watched when I was younger.
I know they broke up they still make vids together your sad for yourself. But pat and Jen broke up. If anything you should be sad for them. But they are still happy and for a fan that all that matter!

I remember the smile he used to have that said to the audience “I’m happy because I love what I have and I love making you guys happy” that smile was when he was with Jen. I’m sure that same smile will come back, but who knows when it will? I’m still supporting him after the Eleni controversy that just started on Instagram and stuff, but this makes me even more concerned for Pat.

PopularMMOs was essentially my childhood. I would come home every day to watch his videos. I still remember binge watching his Epic Proportions series and I remember the exact video in which I caught up with the series. It really is sad to see what's happened to the channel over the past couple years. I suppose all good things really do need to come to an end. I'm glad I got the enjoy the channel in its prime. I'll always have those memories.

I also liked his intros and the music and how he was more soft-spoken back then. I’m a little bothered by how much louder he is now

I miss when he did content with crainer, the constant jokes Abt pen and paper, wheelchair, and especially derp ssunde. Now that all he gives out is among us content with different mods every day with nothing new I can't even bring myself to watch him without cringing heavily and reminiscing about how great he used to be.
Dantdm, popularmmos, stampy, and squiddy were your parents who fully loved you. Dream, grian, Mumbo, and George were your stepparents who still loved you but never cared as much.
This is... truly devastating. Their entire channel was everything to me as a kid. It’s not just that they played a role in my life or our lives, it’s that we the viewers are also important. I could feel that when Pat was talking in his recent videos, he was sad, stressed and other things like that. He’s in a deep time of need and we should be there to help him. Especially being in a time like this with a virus going around. It’s hard to believe that Pat and Jen are getting a divorce, after all these years. Those two were the people that created an even more fun life for his viewers. Most of us have grown out of his kind of content, but I feel it would be nice to kind of take a trip down memory lane, or just be there to provide emotional support in some way.
You gotta give it to him, the man is STILL playing Minecraft. Most people from his era have already moved on long ago, but he still sticks to the same game that literally made his career. I hope to be able to play one of his modpacks with my girlfriend so we can replicate that experience.

BorealisBoy69 while I agree with the sentiment the channels backbone is pat and Jen together not separately for a lot of people. Tbh they were much stronger than the sum of there parts. So when the divorce happens and they still made videos together it just doesn’t hit the same for a lot of people. I never grew up on popularmmos (was never in the popularmmos/stampylonghead camp for Minecraft. Was more into Jerome/captainsparklez/ssundee stuff.) but as someone on the outside looking in I understand why the audience would be sad, confused and upset. No one deserves THIS much backlash but it isn’t surprising in the least.
While they don't deserve hate over simply wanting better personal lives, they do deserve criticism for stuff like putting "Ex-Wife Jen" in the title, not realizing how weird that is and how much of a sore spot it can be, then proceeding to act like its the community's fault entirely.
I understand people feelings though. When I heard Pat was dating someone else after their break up. I was uneasy. I guess I was not ready for them to move on and find someone else since I was little bit sad over their divorce. Though understand they have their lives and can make their own choices. I want them to be happy. Not the viewers.
PopularMMOs is definitely a cemented nostolgic rollercoater for all of us. Most of us grew up with this as a part of our childhood. It was sometimes something we left but ocassionaly came back to, reliving the nostalgia. I don't know when I started thinking this but when Pat and Jen had gotten married, I got a foreboding feeling. I told my younger sister, almost jokingly, that it would be so awkward if they broke up. Looking back, I knew the reason why I stopped watching was that it got repetitive and that I was waiting for the shoe to drop. Those two looked and sounded so happy. I was quite pessimistic back then and everytime I thought about PopularMMOs, I always thought about what would realistically happen when they're not filming a video. It felt like a ticking time bomb, either Pat or Jen would give in and it would all collapse regardless. Ranting aside, it's nice to apprieciate the memories and joy we've experienced from their channel. Bittersweet, but that's life. It feels like another piece in growing up and moving on. I hope that Pat and Jen continue on with their own lives and are happy, best of luck to both of them.
The most memorable thing for me about this channel was a series called something like "The crafting dead". I remember loving that series when I was younger.
It’s not just that their channel ended that is sad… it’s that it ended it tragedy! Stampy just kinda drifted peacefully away while Pat’s channel came crashing down in a burning fire. After he broke up with Jen it just wasn’t the same and everything fell apart after he got his new girlfriend. Poor dude I hope him and Jen are doing alright wherever they are today.

I remember watching them since 2013, it was amazing, they got a little less motivated once they broke up, then Pat brought Ellie, (Elaine?) idk her name, don’t watch the videos with her, she just doesn’t have the same spark as Jen. But it’s not the same. Something just seems missing. When that break up video came out, I remembered so many things, the video where he introduced Jen, when they got married, all the amazing times they had together, just flooded through my mind. I actually started crying. 😔 I miss the good old days.
I will always remember the days I spent watching his Minecraft mod videos, especially the mob battles and lucky block challenges. This man was a good chunk of my childhood and I will forever be disheartened at how his channel, and he as a person, turned out.
The sad part is that he knows that his channel is going downhill, yet he still smiles through it all after all the shitty events he’s done through. He really doesn’t deserve it, he’s such a nice guy :(

They don't sound like they're trying to be happy even though they're really sad/mad, so they are either really good at acting, or they genuinely broke up on good terms and didn't want this to affect the channel. I understand how awkward it is to watch as a new host joins a show after their predecessor was so iconic, but they all seem to still be good friends they don't deserve any of the hate they got.

For some reason Jen's voice and energy is a lot differnt she isn't as talkitive as she was before so I do believe that it has changed Jen alot that's why I don't watch them as much

I have been watching him since early 2014 when I was 11 years old. I'm 17 and still watching him and he is the only minecraft OG TH-camr that I'm still watching
If pat is going through some things now I hope that he finds something in life and can be happy again. Everyone does things in their own ways. I really miss him and I hope the best for him. I just really really really hope he knows that he was part of all of our lives so many of us. And I’m so grateful for him being part of my life.

It's so weird to watch people who primarily present with their voices try to present on camera. His voice says "energetic and excited!" but his eyes say "d e a d i n s i d e."
Honestly so sad, I watched him every single day for years on my tv downstairs in the living room with my brother, younger and older sister. We’d watch his old modded Minecraft survival series with Jen, and also his arena fights or mod showcases. It was awesome I remember watching them building the treehouses and also the classic Jen house, with the heart and the trees.
I remember watching the channel as a kid. Then remembering it years later and having a look to see what changed and the first video was their divorce. Absolutely floored me

One important thing I feel you didn't mention was his viewerbase also matured and grew up. And how we weren't interested at the same things we were when we were kids, able to watch 30 minute videos without getting distracted by other things in life. I started to lose intrest even before the breakup or anything of that sort. The videos started feeling repetitive and we realized this.

I remember watching these with my cousins when we were younger. They were obsessed with Jen and Pat, and we bonded together in the time we spent watching. I haven’t thought about them in so long, and I’m so sad to see everything that has gone down and declined. These two are so nostalgic to me, and it hurts to see that special old part of my life fading. Seriously, I still have an old message from one of my cousins talking about a parkour video by Popular MMOs. I wish them all the happiness and prosperity they deserve, and I’m thankful for the memories they brought me and my cousins.

Late to all this but these videos give me a strange nostalgia for an era I never really was a part of. Computer time was something earned in 5 minute increments at my parent's discretion so I rarely spent time on TH-cam when my limited time (could be as little as 15 mins a week if I was acting up) could be spent playing a game online. All the same, I feel for those who did get to enjoy the heyday of all these creators who helped build their childhoods. It's unfortunate how fast that period came and went for all of us.

This dudes' Minecraft series was a big part in my childhood. It's pretty sad seeing the couple break up too. I knew his TH-cam channel would come to a end one day. That's just life.
I think I have come back to this video the most out of any of SunnyV2's video's, its just so well made and PopularMMO's was thee thing from my childhood that I would always just love. Pat and Jen's break up was the saddest thing to learn about from my childhood creators, same goes for SkyDoesMinecraft. Its heart breaking but I hope that they will one day find what makes them all happy.
It really hurts to see the channel like this. These two were like second parents to me they made me laugh when I needed it and they were my image of my ideal relationship. When they broke up I tried to keep watching them bc I wanted to support them no matter what but the vibe of the videos just seemed off. I could feel this vibe months before the breakup video it was almost like an ingenuine feeling like they were hiding something. I don’t hate Eleni I’m sure she’s a nice woman but she feels like a replacement of Jen. And pat looks like he’s about to snap it actually kind of scary. I don't think I would've comeback since I outgrew them but that doesn't mean they won't always be apart of my childhood for a straight 5yrs in my life before unsubscribing since I started to feel less excited from watching Pat closely lose a Hunger Games match, got bored from watching them play Challenge Games and mode showcases, and then they stopped doing Epic Proportions which imo was probably their best series and there was also the long hiatus for the Crafting Dead which dissappointed me greatly cause I also really loved that series. Same here, i was a fan back in my 7th-8th grade i think, and stopped watching after 8th grade. I was shocked to know that they got divorced, they are fun to watch. Now that im in the 12th grade, i remember the times when i watched his videos with jen. It's just so sad that he went through a lot

these guys were the first youtubers I ever watched religiously as a 9 year old back in 2014. so sad to see the channel crumble. for my generation, seeing our favorite youtubers change and grow older seems to be serving as our first confrontation with the sad reality that our childhoods are coming to a close, no longer present but solidly undoubtedly behind us. it's really bitter to think nothing will be exactly the same as it once was.
I remember coming home from school, running to my Ipad, and start binge watching all of their videos. I'd watch videos for 10th or 11th times, until a new video was uploaded. Pat and Jen we're the ones that made my childhood amazing.

I used to love watching his lucky block challenges where they would defeat one major boss with the things they got from the lucky blocks. His mod reviews where really fun too. Until I saw his intro in a meme, I had no idea what was going on... It’s sad to hear they were divorced.. I’d have never expected it. His old videos, now roam with DanTDM nostalgia mod reviews. I used to watch them both do mod reviews, I can’t believe how old I feel right now :’), especially hearing the Minecraft music in the background that used to play in Minecraft ;O;

Then Total Insanity and the other epic proportions videos where they didn't swear as much, and I watched up until their first roblox video. Since that first roblox video, I lost all hope in any of his new videos. Thank goodness most of his older videos are very rewatchable. Even the ones without Jen.

Imma be honest, popularmmos was why I started exercising and playing sports, and made a cringy YT channel (I'm sure most of us had that one). Pat seemed to have so much joy in his life and it made me happy a happy 9 year old. Good times, screw highschool.

Pat and Jen were like my parents for years upon years of para social interaction… and they never did anything to mess that up, we all just grew apart. To be honest, he probably doesn’t need the money from his channel as is. He could probably live out his life with the money he has but I feel really bad for him with the things that have been going on. This guy shaped me as a kid and he shouldn’t be getting hate for trying to move on. I want the best for Pat and I hope that he comes out happy and not like some other people who have hurt themselves because of a toxic online community.
I’m sure he’s made plenty from TH-cam and probably still makes decent money, but if the divorce was messy or there were issues with the division of assets (since Jen definitely has a right to some of that theorized six million dollars in TH-cam money), he might be worse off than we think. It might even be a big part of his growing stress and worsening mental state, unfortunately :(

Pat is amazing for all the right reasons.
He tries his hardest to entertain his fans without it affecting him. And despite his problems, he handled them by being a mature person. He didn't publicly cry about, but he publicly explained and apologized. He always smiles, laugh and manages to share that with people without him even knowing. Even with the break up with Jen. He handles it with absolute maturity and didn't cause a scene throughout the entirety of his career. Even Jen handled it like an absolute champ. Sure, both of them were great together and their decision to get a divorce was hard for them and for us, they tried their best to stay calm, collected and cool for everyone else.
His target demographic is mostly for kids, yet ironically he doesn't like to have kids of his own. But beyond his knowledge, he has raised millions of us, and even though we have forgotten about him, we are more than thankful to be apart of his community

I still remember binge watching his Epic Proportions series and I remember the exact video in which I caught up with the series. This is... truly devastating. Their entire channel was everything to me as a kid. It’s not just that they played a role in my life or our lives, it’s that we the viewers are also important. I could feel that when Pat was talking in his recent videos, he was sad, stressed and other things like that. He’s in a deep time of need and we should be there to help him. Especially being in a time like this with a virus going around. It’s hard to believe that Pat and Jen are getting a divorce, after all these years. Those two were the people that created an even more fun life for his viewers. Most of us have grown out of his kind of content, but I feel it would be nice to kind of take a trip down memory lane, or just be there to provide emotional support in some way.

While they don't deserve hate over simply wanting better personal lives, they do deserve criticism for stuff like putting "Ex-Wife Jen" in the title, not realizing how weird that is and how much of a sore spot it can be, then proceeding to act like its the community's fault entirely.

PopularMMOs is definitely a cemented nostolgic rollercoater for all of us. Most of us grew up with this as a part of our childhood. It was sometimes something we left but ocassionaly came back to, reliving the nostalgia. I don't know when I started thinking this but when Pat and Jen had gotten married, I got a foreboding feeling. I told my younger sister, almost jokingly, that it would be so awkward if they broke up.
Looking back, I knew the reason why I stopped watching was that it got repetitive and that I was waiting for the shoe to drop. Those two looked and sounded so happy. I was quite pessimistic back then and everytime I thought about PopularMMOs, I always thought about what would realistically happen when they're not filming a video. It felt like a ticking time bomb, either Pat or Jen would give in and it would all collapse regardless.
Ranting aside, it's nice to apprieciate the memories and joy we've experienced from their channel. Bittersweet, but that's life. It feels like another piece in growing up and moving on.
I hope that Pat and Jen continue on with their own lives and are happy, best of luck to both of them.

It’s not just that their channel ended that is sad… it’s that it ended it tragedy! Stampy just kinda drifted peacefully away while Pat’s channel came crashing down in a burning fire. Honestly so sad, I watched him every single day for years on my tv downstairs in the living room with my brother, younger and older sister. We’d watch his old modded Minecraft survival series with Jen, and also his arena fights or mod showcases. It was awesome I remember watching them building the treehouses and also the classic Jen house, with the heart and the trees.

This is going to make me emotional. Lucky block battles were the best! I would also watch them every day. If I having a bad day that wouldn't matter because I could always go watch another lucky block battle video. Now it's just not the same. I wish pat and Jen the best but damn their breakup hit me differently.

One important thing I feel you didn't mention was his viewerbase also matured and grew up. And how we weren't interested at the same things we were when we were kids, able to watch 30 minute videos without getting distracted by other things in life. I started to lose intrest even before the breakup or anything of that sort. The videos started feeling repetitive and we realized this.

I remember watching these with my cousins when we were younger. They were obsessed with Jen and Pat, and we bonded together in the time we spent watching. I haven’t thought about them in so long, and I’m so sad to see everything that has gone down and declined. These two are so nostalgic to me, and it hurts to see that special old part of my life fading. Seriously, I still have an old message from one of my cousins talking about a parkour video by Popular MMOs. I wish them all the happiness and prosperity they deserve, and I’m thankful for the memories they brought me and my cousins.

Late to all this but these videos give me a strange nostalgia for an era I never really was a part of. Computer time was something earned in 5 minute increments at my parent's discretion so I rarely spent time on TH-cam when my limited time (could be as little as 15 mins a week if I was acting up) could be spent playing a game online. All the same, I feel for those who did get to enjoy the heyday of all these creators who helped build their childhoods. It's unfortunate how fast that period came and went for all of us.

I think I have come back to this video the most out of any of SunnyV2's video's, its just so well made and PopularMMO's was thee thing from my childhood that I would always just love. Pat and Jen's break up was the saddest thing to learn about from my childhood creators, same goes for SkyDoesMinecraft. Its heart breaking but I hope that they will one day find what makes them all happy.
It really hurts to see the channel like this. These two were like second parents to me they made me laugh when I needed it and they were my image of my ideal relationship. When they broke up I tried to keep watching them bc I wanted to support them no matter what but the vibe of the videos just seemed off. I could feel this vibe months before the breakup video it was almost like an ingenuine feeling like they were hiding something. I don’t hate Eleni I’m sure she’s a nice woman but she feels like a replacement of Jen. And pat looks like he’s about to snap it actually kind of scary. I really hope he can get out of this and start to get the views he was getting before but with the way his channel is going that’s very likely not gonna happen.

I don't think I would've comeback since I outgrew them but that doesn't mean they won't always be apart of my childhood for a straight 5yrs in my life before unsubscribing since I started to feel less excited from watching Pat closely lose a Hunger Games match, got bored from watching them play Challenge Games and mode showcases, and then they stopped doing Epic Proportions which imo was probably their best series and there was also the long hiatus for the Crafting Dead which dissappointed me greatly cause I also really loved that series. That still doesn't stop me from being thankful for them being a big part of my childhood

these guys were the first youtubers I ever watched religiously as a 9 year old back in 2014. so sad to see the channel crumble. for my generation, seeing our favorite youtubers change and grow older seems to be serving as our first confrontation with the sad reality that our childhoods are coming to a close, no longer present but solidly undoubtedly behind us. it's really bitter to think nothing will be exactly the same as it once was.

I used to love watching his lucky block challenges where they would defeat one major boss with the things they got from the lucky blocks. His mod reviews where really fun too. Until I saw his intro in a meme, I had no idea what was going on... It’s sad to hear they were divorced.. I’d have never expected it.

The mob battles. That's how I found his channel and why I stayed. Then Total Insanity and the other epic proportions videos where they didn't swear as much, and I watched up until their first roblox video. Since that first roblox video, I lost all hope in any of his new videos. Thank goodness most of his older videos are very rewatchable. Even the ones without Jen.
yeah man it sucks dude time passes by so fast in the blink of an eye we will be looking back at old memories wishing we could go back when we know damm well we cant life moves fast sometimes I still cant believe that im already 15 and im not a little kid anymore watching minecraft vids but its reality.

@@mikaylakaylaa true,but it’s seems like when they do make videos together, it seems forced and a bit awkward, it’s obvious that they only make videos to appease the fans, and the magic of the channel is gone do to the fact that they’re videos together are a lot more forced.
You know.. even what has happened to him, I will always love him for making my childhood one of the best it could of ever been. I really do owe him so so much for what he has done for me. Words can’t explain how just how much he helped me and made my childhood just so spectacular and I thank him for that! I hope and pray that he comes back and o will forever continue to support him!
