    Hi my friend. Ich muss sagen, dass ist ein wunderschöner Silent hiking film. Tolle Filmaufnahen mit atemberaubender Kulisse! Den Moment, als du dich uf das Bett fallen lässt, kann ich sehr gut nachfühlen. Draussen sein ein paar Tage ist schon sehr anstrengend und dabei noch alles zu filmen.... Das ist noch anstrengender. Aber auch schön. Wirklich sehr schön dein Abenteuer. Hiking Grüsse aus der Schweiz.

    This channel has what most of the other silent hike vids don’t: an eye for stellar cinematography and fantastic color grading. Thank you for making this, can’t wait to watch your portfolio and your subscribers increase!

      Once out of the towns, the trail was pretty quiet, especially in the heart. of the ecrins - really recomeneded

    Very nice video. What caught my eye from time to time were the different colours in a few clips. Maybe those come from different camaera settings/different settings in post-production?

    Hi William, just a technical question: how heavy was your backpack (without water) during this treck? See you, Djack

    • @WilliamMangar
      @WilliamMangar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hiya Djack. I went pretty light for this one due to the elevations. Was about 10-11kg which was comfortable. During winter and with all cooking gear would be 13kg which is the limit for me before the uphills become tiresome. Not sure your thoughts.

    • @mylake6978
      @mylake6978 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WilliamMangar Alright, I started over again hiking in the Alps and it seemed to me that my rucksack was so heavy uphill particulary, making me so slow-moving. I have the same tent as you and that's why the question of the weight of your backpack came to me. Mine is around 13kg for several days. Maybe I have to hire a carrier or a mule)) Enjoy your nice trips!

    • @WilliamMangar
      @WilliamMangar  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes I think a bigger rucksack is worthwhile although paradoxically heavier. I am going from a Osprey 48 to Aether 65 as the ergonomics are more comfortable and the weight better distributed. Being ruthless with clothing and equipment too. And weopen of choice weighted squats every morning or when I can remember 🤪 - hands down this made the biggest difference to climbing and descending big cols with a pack. 👍

    • @mylake6978
      @mylake6978 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WilliamMangar Quite funny because I've got the same tent as yours and I'v bought an Osprey rucksack but a 88 one, Xenith 88, a very very good backpack with a lot of possibilities. And I have to say that I discovered the MSR tent thanks to a young Swiss man making the tour of Cornwall in 2018 and 2019. Great ):

    • @WilliamMangar
      @WilliamMangar  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree actually. I’ve tried a lot of lightweight tents. Had a couple of nightmares with single skin tents with torrential rain and condensation. The msr I have it’s not too heavy but really solid and stands up to fairly forceful conditions on top of hills.

    Thanks for the video. I’ll do the GR54 this September.
    Planning for 10 days on trail, aiming for 9. Did you find it hard to find tent spots? I’m not planning to make any reservations.
