I agree. I sure wish wrestling could turn back to being like this again. Then wrestling would make more sense. Nowadays wrestling doesn't have much action like before.

This was such a mindblowing roster compared to any WWF game before it. I was obsessed with this game from day one. The one thing I really remember bothering me about the roster right off the bat was how outdated Too Cool was. They debuted two months before Chris Jericho debuted in WWF and like five months before this game came out. When you use Brian Christopher and Scott Taylor in a tag match, they come out as "Too Cool", but still in the "Too Much" gimmick. They had plenty of time to change that. Mean Street Posse really should have been in the game too, and I would have liked to see Chaz' valet Marianna. Luna should have been with Gangrel. WCW/nWo Revenge wasn't missing any managers or valets.. The Dudley Boyz and Kurt Angle joined the WWF slightly too late to make the roster cut unfortunately, it would have been great if they were in the game as well. No Mercy fixed much of that, but it was a long wait for that game to come out.

More Wrestlers and Valets, by the time No Mercy came out, alot of them were gone. No Mercy still has an amazing Roster of the Attitude Era, though. Along with Wrestlemania 2000.

Shawn micheals bust out dancing is the funnies thing I seen, man I miss my n64 and wm2000 and no mercy people say alot about the n64 but most of the games on this system was and is classic.

+Jeremy Gray And they messed up on some of the weights too. X-Pac at 212lbs? I doubt that.. he was a small guy. 185 at the most. And I also doubt the Hardys were weighing in the 220s region.
They always said Andre was 7 foot 5 but he was about 7 foot 2. But when he died he was about 6'11. Still huge.
Big Show was always billed as 7'4" in WCW when he was The Giant. They kept that for a short while in the WWF before suddenly switching to 7'2" and then eventually 7'0" and hoping no one would notice.
I wished Alot of these would've been on No Mercy. Some of these look better on WM2000 than they did on No Mercy too. Chyna looks 10xs better to me.

For Shawn Michaels, you must make it to WrestleMania in Road to WrestleMania and either win or defend the WWF Championship and HBK will come out and challenge you. If you win, he will be unlocked. For Dude Love, in RTWM, you must win the King of the Ring tournament and by doing that, you will get a title shot at SummerSlam. And if you win, Dude Love will challenge you, and that will unlock Dude Love.
Man, I remember making a gay hairy sumo that was 699 lbs. his name was putty tang. I remember my cousin making my grandma, her husband, and my sister and it was real hilarious putting them in the ring together. Hehe
I don't understand why they didn't include Owen Hart, Goldust, Kurrgan, or Dr. Death. This was right around their time I think.
Owen Hart died after his fatal accident at Over The Edge five/six months before this game came out and his widow Martha sued the WWF so he wasn't included in this game.
No this was after they were all gone. Owen died, Goldust and Dr. Death went to WCW, and Kurrgan was released.
The last WWF Game that Has Owen was WWF Attitude in 1999. Owen's Widow won't let them touch him after that.

One of the best games of all time, got so much use out of this when it first came out, Jeff Hardy and D'Lo Brown were some of my favorites to play with, loved the Swanton and frog splash from the top rope or The Hardyz double splash and leg drop from the top. Classic

I still love this game more than No Mercy. It's my second favorite wrestling game beside Smackdown Here Comes The Pain. And this has the best create a wrestler of any game
@Gasmoxia The N64 game may have had infeiror graphics and sound compared to the Smackdown games on the PSX, but the gameplay, charm and CAW were a lot better. Compared to other PSX wrestling games like the awful WCW Nitro and Thunder, and Backstage assault, the N64 games had better character animations as well
I miss playing this game so much. I wish I could play it several more times but I no longer have the N64 anymore.

@geemoli They have to be pre-made teams like the headbangers, DX, NAO, The Brood, E&C, The Hardyz, The union, the ministry, and a few others. On Smackdown 2 any can come out with anybody.

How on earth was the cage match impossible to win? It's very easy, you need to climb it when your meter reads "special" and then it's a piece of cake. The cage match in this game was better than No Mercy. I always liked the look of the old barred Steel Cage as opposed to the chain link cage they've used the last 15 years.
