I love that you used "We didn't make room in the budget for that this time" instead of "we can't afford it." Puts control in your hands, instead of focusing on lack. I hope to incorporate that viewpoint into my life.

I’m glad you went through how you guys use each product. We have been benefiting from azure standard for years too and it’s great to get new ideas and it is encouraging to see others taking the time and making the effort to eat whole homemade meals.
You may know this, but for everyone... Parsley does really good in the cold outside here in TN! Also cilantro and oregano and thyme are still doing great after a few frosts! And mint! And lambs quarters, borage, mullein, plantain haha I keep thinking of more. My newest baby is 5 weeks and I’m just glad some good things are left in the garden now that I’m out and about again... strawberry leaves are good for tea and they are bright and healthy still too! I don’t know if these will survive all winter here (and I do know buying dried parsley is a whole lot easier and such a good price from azure). Thanks for making this video!

Hi, I know that this video is a year old, but I just started watching and I'm starting at the beginning! I just wanted to let you know, in case you don't already, that popcorn can also house weevils and eggs. I lost two bags of popcorn to them unfortunately, and now I store my popcorn in the fridge (I don't have a huge amount), but I think your freezer trick is a great idea too.

I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun discovering a new TH-cam channel. :) You and I have such a similar life and I bet we (and our children!) would have fun hanging out. However I live on the other side of the US. I’ve been praying so much lately about my feeling overwhelmed with the homesteading and homeschooling. I’ve been feeling unbalanced and like we’re not “getting enough done”. One of your homeschool videos popped up on my list. I believe it was an answer to prayer. You spoke things that I absolutely needed to hear! God spoke to me through you today. I also wanted to mention that I’m the drop point coordinator for our Azure drop. Oh my, driving an hour sounds stressful in order to pick up! 😋 (Though we do drive an hour to church). Anyway, I’m enjoying your videos today. :) We just had our 8th baby, plus I have 2 adult kids. We homeschool and have a see if food buckets and jars from Azure filling our kitchen as well. :) Thank you for helping my mom heart today! ❤️

Hi Jessica, I can relate to not being able to get ready and leave early in the day. 😉 I have done AS once but the pick-up, for me as well, was about an hour away and they were out of much of what I ordered. Also the actual pick-up day (not time, but day) was changed with two day’s notice. That is very hard on my schedule.

Here is a nugget for you. Health wise you can use elderberry syrup with on guard essential oil. Now whatever sweetener you wast. You can use honey but you could not give is to the baby. In cold and flue season we use for an adult T. One in the morning and one at night. You can adjust accordingly. Use it up wear it out make it do or do without. Recommended channels, Mary's Nest, Rain Country. God b less.

In the Netherlands we have nothing like this. Most of the times, if we choose NOT to deliver at our huse we pay more for a delivery! We have several delivering companies driving like crazy to deliver packages to single homes; more times a day. It's crazy. It's an on-and-off of trucks and cars stopping and going in the smallest streets and villages. Because that has becoming such a pest in the streets, communities are trying get permission to build pick-up points (to releave the stress of these cars and trucks in small streets and villages) but up untill now there's not much excitement for this idea. I think your way is the way to go. If you have to give a little bit more 'think' to it, you will order a lot more sensibly. Planning to haul your order a certain place and time instead of comfortably letting your neigbours care for it when you're not home (and then returning everything you don't like) seems to me like the answer to a lot of this over-buying and convenience-shopping. And off course: draining the earth!

You're totally responsible for adding $100 to my Azure order every time you post a video like this! ;) Currently under budget... but if I add in the vanilla beans, that might push me over... yet there's only 2 bottles of calcium powder left, so the odds are in my favor that I won't be able to get it.
Is that something you struggle with, Jessica? Having several items go out of stock or even getting discontinued or long term out of stock? It just feels like every month I can't get something. This month I was looking to add A2A2 powder milk, but last night there was suddenly a supplier issue problem. I was able to get a close alternative, but I had a moment of frustration over that item suddenly being out of stock (especially since it was saying there was hundreds available).

The drop off location near me has shipping at more than 8% your total cost. It's that average? I'm looking for a bulk place that is actually worth it. Unfortunately, even azure is more expensive than just getting organic at my local store.

    • @threerivershomestead
      @threerivershomestead  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

8% shipping is normal. I find the name brands that you can get at grocery stores to be more expensive through Azure. You save money on the bulk Azure market dried goods. For example, a 50 pound bag of oats or rice. I can't find better prices on those in my local stores.

I do have a question about azure. Ive seen online where people may not get everything they order and sometimes that can be because someone on a stop before them bought their product. Like say I ordered potatoes, at a stop before me someone bought those potatoes. I don't find out until the truck arrives and then I have to end up going right store anyway. How accurate it this. I also follow you on Instagram if it would be easier to message me there. Thank you.

Sometimes things end up out of stock. Always check your updated order once it is processed. It will tell you what they weren't able to send. They update as soon as the trucks leave.
With that said, order fulfillment has been way better in the last six months.

What do you use for butter and milk supplements? We would love to go dairy free but are having hard time with supplementing those in recipes

We use lard in place of butter in things like pie crusts and biscuits. Olive oil in things like cookies and cakes. For milk we usually do cashew or almond milk.

We have a drop off near by and I've looked at all the Azure food so many times, but have never joined or ordered for just one reason----it's only me and my husband. So, my question is, do you HAVE to order every month? Or would that be up to our coordinator? I would LOVE to buy in bulk, but it would take us a while to go through it.

Nice haul ! May I ask why the children don't get milk. I understand you can't have dairy. Have a great day

My oldest son has an anaphylactic dairy allergy (also peanuts). It isn't safe to even have in the kitchen.

You do not have to have a minimum if part of a drop order. My first order was $68. I’m not sure about whether they take benefits/EBT payments. Might want to ask/email them
Also: order early even if it’s just a few things. Once you place your order, you can continue to add to your cart before the cut off date (some things sell out fast like fresh fruit and chocolate chips this time of year.)

I have a friend in Canada that talks about Organic Matters. That's where she gets her bulk goods.
