I just bought a dual edge but it was an absolute impulse buy and I'm considering returning it so I can get a steam deck. I'm a PC gamer. But the case looks beautiful
Nice! I know you’ll love it! 🍻. I’ve even started modding it now 😂. Just did a couple videos on that. Here’s 1 of em if you wanna check it out: th-cam.com/video/RJHpO63b27w/w-d-xo.html
Bro how is your controller white on back. I owned one of these for 1 month and back was permanently discolored yellow. And I am an extremely clean individual so that is unlikely for me to happen. Im amazed at your condition controller.
Lol. I don’t know what to say bro… mine did start changing color eventually though to be honest. My take on it is the material they use for that side of the controller is prone to premature degradation depending on each person’s circumstances (environment, care, use, sweaty palms, etc…). For me, like a couple months after making this video it did start to change to a light brown. Not a big deal though… I changed the shell completely and it looks so sick! 😁… I show how I did it in this video here: th-cam.com/video/oJtIep-YtTk/w-d-xo.html
These things are very easy to clean. You just get a toothpick and scrub out the dirt in the sides. You can also use alcohol wipes. Very important to keep your control of clean so it doesn't break down
That is indeed true my friend! I will admit though, recently (a while after this review) the inner rubber type of material on the handles have started to discolour unfortunately to a slight blown...no amount of cleaning can fix that. So unfortunately unlike the original dualsense, the materials aren't as durable after long term it seems. My original dualsense controllers are still a breeze to clean though.
Thanks for watching 🍻… and if you’re thinking of grabbing 1, just do it! You won’t regret it. It will be the only controller you’ll ever want to use with your PS5. It’s worth it for that alone.
It's the same as regular dual sense it doesn't have a premium feel and the replacement sticks cost as much as a controller on special now don't buy this it's also known for it's terrible durability The grips are guaranteed to bubble up and the back buttons are none responsive after a few months of use be careful and save your money you'll never use the special features or even feel them after looking at them once look at other video's about the controller recently they are all about the durability problems
@@gigapac I’m sorry you had such a horrible experience but myself and all my other friends have never experienced any of those problems at all. We all share the same sentiments in terms of what I said in my video… it’s an excellent pro controller for the PS5 and we all can’t see ourselves without it. There has been no malfunctions or durability issues to speak of after a whole year. I can only speak for myself though and ultimately I take care of my electronics and accessories.
@@KamaniBrowni got this for Christmas and I'm devastated i thought it would have different materials and features but everything is the same as a regular dual sense i don't even notice it when playing. Same as the right trigger it doesn't work for me at time's maybe i got a dud and should ask sony for a replacement?
@@gigapac that’s very unfortunate bro. That also sounds really unusual as well because it feels solid to me… even today after a year’s worth of fairly heavy use. But yet again I tend to baby my electronics 😂. The only thing I would worry about giving out over time would be the sticks and at least those are easily replaceable. Maybe yours was defective 🤷🏾♂️. If it’s still under warranty, you may need to get it checked out.
How's the controller holding up now? I'm thinking on getting one but I'm really hesitant due to stick drift issues, especially since the stick modules have been sold out everywhere for months.
@@GabeJohnson91 for me personally it’s still holding up perfectly 🤷🏾♂️… and this is even after me tearing it down and replacing the entire chassis in this video here: th-cam.com/video/oJtIep-YtTk/w-d-xo.html . But it’s been holding up like a champ for me thus far. As I’ve stated before though… mileage may vary based on the types of games you play and how you care your controller. It’s ludicrous that the stick modules have been out of stock for so long though. Got me a bit scared to be honest.
@@KamaniBrown Well I managed to get incredibly lucky and saw that Gamestop had the modules in stock (like 2 of em, already sold out lol) so I ended up buying the controller and 1 module. Knowing I have a backup now puts my mind at ease, although my wallet is hurting right now lol
@@GabeJohnson91 nice!! Seriously Happy for you! 🍻 … I’m still curious as to why since a few months after launch the modules have gotten so rare like Sony isn’t really producing them. 🤔
The creaking noise was driving me insane. It was an easy fix though. You pop off the trigger, push the spring to the outer side and put a bit of lube on the spring area. And use the same kind of lube they use for custom keyboards.
@@DelbyDank nice idea bro! 🍻. I honestly don’t think I hear it anymore after tearing it down and changing the shell and trigger covers in this video: th-cam.com/video/oJtIep-YtTk/w-d-xo.html … so I guess I sorta fixed it after pulling it apart and putting it back together 😅.
Great idea bro! I tried it on accident 1 day… it does give a sharper feel for competitive play, but I prefer the regular position for casual and story gameplay because it feels more relaxed in the hands to me.
You’re most welcome and thanks for watching! 🍻. I would always recommend this controller. It may seem expensive at the get go, but the mere fact that you’ll never want to put it down ever again after getting it makes it a worthy investment. Go for it!
I am using mine since launch and I am quite happy with it! Just have some concerns with the grips. They start to have a yellowish tint and also start to get away from the controller on the edges.
It’s the same for me brother trust me I can’t do without it now 😅. The next PS6 should come with it as standard 😂. As for the yellow tint, have you tried using some 70% isopropyl alcohol?
@@Player83852 I’m not sure what you mean by if you use a fan… but I can assure you that the controller is pretty durable as is. Well to be honest my friend I would suggest getting the games and PS+ (especially if those games are games you actually want) because as great as the dualsense edge is… it makes no sense to get it if you have no games to play with it 🤷🏾♂️. Wow! That’s crazy bro 😮. Mine are still going strong with no signs of that… hoping it stays that way 🤞🏾. Good thing they sell the sticks separately which should be around $20 a piece… however I have been noticing them going in and out of stock quite often lately with scumbag scalpers price gouging them… sigh… best of luck bro. I really hope you get them replaced soon. It’s still my favorite PS5 controller by a long shot. FYI though I have built a custom PS5 pro controller from the ground up for less money than the Edge (currently waiting on final parts to finish up the video). It will perform even better in esport and competitive play online as well. So stay tuned for that also.
About the dual-stick mods for $20, you are correct. Trying to find them anywhere was like when the PS5 first came out, with scalpers selling them for almost three times their worth. I love my PlayStation Edge controller; I actually have two now. I'm holding off on using my older one until I get new parts. I've just been having bad luck; the second one I purchased already had stick drift, so this is my third controller now. I used to be a really hardcore COD player, but despite the mishaps, it's still my favorite controller.
I definitely get what you mean bro. The style isn’t for everyone. I dig it though. But if you want, changing its look is pretty easy. Here’s a video I did recently showing how to change the face and back plates: th-cam.com/video/RJHpO63b27w/w-d-xo.html I’m also working on finishing up a video showing me change the entire body/look of the dualsense edge. It looks so sick! You’re gonna love the look I came up with so you can definitely look out for when I drop that 1 in the next couple days.
Controller comfort is night and day for me on edge versus OG. OG doesn't even exist to me. OG had cut off handles, giving me discomfort in my palms. OG has a black lip under the sticks, digging into my fingers. Back has no shape curve like ps4 controller. Overall the edge is mandatory for me to enjoy ps5 games because the controller was the worst design I ever witnessed. For me, personally, from the issues I stated above.
