@@hamil3115 normally you can only repair with the exact thing you’re repairing, so you have to use power armor to repair power armor, but with jury rigging you can repair it with anything of the same type, so power armor can be repaired with any heavy armor

You don't even need Barter in this game with the Repair skill. You'll be drowning in caps anyway with Repair. And with Jury-Rigging perk it's just too good and OP for any build. Kind of makes sense that in the post-apocalyptic world repair is highly appreciated in society.
I usually play according to the RP builds done by FudgeMuppet, but even with the ones that don't put Repair in as a necessary skill, I just hand-wave it as being part of the Courier job. Never know when your next pay might come, days or weeks later, or if your destination even has the means to make repairs, so best to be able to take care of your own equipment even if you have to scrounge for parts.

I thought I was alone because I see these mods in almost every video I look up for Fallout:New Vegas. Like ever ever play the halo:combat evolved anniversary edition and your switch between the new graphics and The old ones but it’s still the same animations from 2001 and it’s obvious? It’s super offputting. Similar feeling.

Yeah, I’d say barter is honestly more useful for the speech checks than it’s intended purpose.
Having 90 repair for Jurry Rigging is an automatic must for me no matter what build I play
