Lol could have been anything? He was in school and his mom couldn't afford for him to stay. Living in those areas at that time, there was a slim to none chance of doing anything else but what u saw in the show. The show is telling u that the "system" is rigged...very few make it out...if they do it's not a life they were envisioning for themselves.
The series-ending scene was definitely unique. Jail was too good for Franklin. So was death. No, he turned into the one thing he never wanted to be - an alcoholic like his father. And he wound up being homeless in the same hellish neighborhood he helped create. Man.
He really only opened the door so he can get another bottle smh….another thing I noticed, he severed all ties with his mom because just like his father once he stopped fcukin with him he started calling him by his first name. So him calling his mom cissy shows u how he feels about her now.
I didn’t notice that he shook the bottle looked at it and then went to the door. All that conversation was so he could ask for money still the same person talk real good game and finesse you. That’s what he did the whole series. He always talked his way out of everything and usually got what he wanted. It usually worked in his favor.
When I first seen this scene when it came out…. It was deep. Franklin literally became what he hated his father was in the very first episode. It’s like a generational curse. He literally lost everything due to greed. When he said he was free….. I felt that. He could have asked or took Leon up on his deal to pay for the house etc but he only asked for a few dollars. He didn’t want to take nothing else from his bestfriend. Just wanted to give him his props for being who he was to him.
Greed? Yes but in those areas at that time there was no way out no matter what u do. Cissy lived "righteous" and did the "right thing"...where did that get her? Broke...and started the cycle for Franklin...well both parents...he was on school and she couldn't afford for him to stay in school. Don't u see...the "system" is rigged especially for black people in those areas...a slim few make it out...that's it.
I thought the actor who played leon is understated in this scene especially. The way he subtly shows how uncomfortable he is the whole time while Franklin is being a drunken mess. He seems eager to get real with him and shake him out of his mess and Franklin can obviously sense leon wants that from him but ignores it. Throughout the conversation leon is realising how hopeless franklin has now become and he is increasingly choking up. Leon maybe had some hope of rekindling a relationship or being able to help him but Franklin is now too far to reach. This tension builds up until Franklin really looks at him and connects with him for a moment saying how he is is his best friend and leon cant help but cry. The whole time franklin leads the conversation as he was always the leader and leon defaults to his position and so cant really tell him anything. Besides franklin is so intelligent he probably knows everything leon might say and saves him the trouble. This scene was so sad man.

@@karenwright1231... He just don't know... Same Franklin that tried to kill Leon fee years earlier to get his money back in that office until Leon's Men stood behind Franklin ready to blow his brains out behind Leon.......
@@remingtonporter1734 That wasn’t gonna end well
It doesn't really say much, I mean it's Leon's money and if Leon wanted anything he could've just bought it himself.
We all live different lives during the time we are here. Some lives pay for others. Just Imagine going from being a clean cut kid to a drug dealer and then a gangster then a prisoner. Imagine being poor and then having millions. Only to lose it all again.
We all lose a little of ourselves along the way. He is free to suffer however he wants. Alone in a silent delirium that never made it to despair. Dreams are treacherous things. Once they are gone you are left empty inside like nothing else will ever matter the same so why try.
If they don’t give Damson a Emmy it’s crazy
Because the problem with Franklin was, he got too greedy he didn’t know when to stop when in retrospect, he should’ve left the game alone in the beginning once he made a certain about a buddy, but if anybody took anything from this message
The biggest message was no one’s bigger than a program. He got started by a white man and he got ended by a white man
I agree
They need to get an Oscar for this performance. The transformation of Franklin is crazy.
My boy sad," I ain't got no motherfuckin change! I feel that
He said chains*
That’s why he said he feels free
@@Ricflexerfinally somebody heard it
Okay then!
@@glizzytubestreetcode9731 think we all did,he literally touch his neck when he said it lol
The nigga said Chains ⛓️ and he said he free but he needs to get cleaned up for the Wanda spin off.
This hurts to watch even though it’s a show. You can be up then down 😢
Saddest tv ending. Everybody Franklin helped folded on him except Oso smh 🤦🏽♂️
Oso would of folded on Franklin as well
The crazy part about all this is that a lot of homeless people we've come across were like Franklin at some point.
The actin in this is phenomenal 👏
It was sad when he asked leon for $10 when he had millions
The cycle of life
Sad as hell
I know mfs who fell off 20 yrs ago and still haven’t shook back .. all mind spirit control to bounce back
Ts fucked me up all da way smfh 💔
I used to live in Oakland and you hear many of these stories
Frank ain’t gonna be under Leon either let’s be honest
I love the character Franklin Saint much respect Damson Idris this episode was very emotional for me because I can relate this goes out to all my dead homies I ran with and all the Og's I come up under that took time out to give me game Rest in power peace 👊🏾💪🏾🙏🏾
It’s sad when you sitting on top of the world and then the next minute you hit rock bottom
Y’all feeling sad for a guy that murdered an innocent locksmith guy that had kids
I think it's because of who Franklin was before all of it blinds them from what he became
Scary. Sad. Truthful. A lot of OGs back in the day got chewed up and spit out....but the pain the caused too. Sadly, it's basically deserved for the lives they ruined to live on top for a few years. Dying breed.
Well… at least Leon pulled through 💪🏾 but Franklin, smh I was hoping he would of left with something 💵
Why?
@@wendellgreenidge3362 because I wanted a happy drug dealer ending
@@nard-o Didng your parents teach you that you can’t always get what you want? So I guess now you know how Franklin feels

That’s fucked up from millions down to $20
He lost more then millions bud
From multiple properties to not a pot to piss in. From family to no family. From starting his own family to losing wife and son. From cars to no car. My boy loss everything
@@Ricflexerhe wasn't married to Veronique.
He suffered a fate far worse than death or prison, to be at the height of life and have it all just to hit rock bottom? And he has paranoia
It’s the betrayal from everyone he loved that final destroy Franklin.
Pride and greed as well
Bruh his right eye scared tf outta me
One of Franklin eye is fucked up! 😞
A sign of when you pass along
When he lost Jerome that was the beginning of the end Franklin is still alive he could of been dead or in jail
His last words was the old Franklin best ending ever
From the city nigga who else 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂 Ain't seen him in 5 yrs talking like that.
Teddy was right he should be very careful you think you've lost everything just wait! That devil just didn't anticipate he would be out of the picture altogether.
He created his own hell & decided to live in it.
This situation happens too to many people
I was literally left shook the first time i watched this
we all wanted Franklin to get away with the money but in our hearts we all know he didn't deserve to... unlike Leon or even Skully he never showed any remorse for the things he did and as a result he never grew beyond the trappings of the drug game
Damn this is sad asf frfr
Unfortunately, the first glimpse of Saint’s father foreshadowed his eventual fall. This was a powerful ass serious! Rest in peace, John Singleton!
This Ending Still Hurts😢
Thanks bro I'm from that era they are talking about ....
Man That Shit SAD! 💔💔💔😭😭😭❤❤❤
This the episode hit hard asf
i always loved Leon
This is the life of most of them drug dealers. Although we know this isn't true because snowfall is based on Freeway Ricky Ross and he's doing great now
He was heavily tied in and manipulated by the CIA .
Yeah but he went to prison and probably deserved to be there longer cause I just know he killed at least one person.
Outta all the lives lost and turned fucked up because of his empire?
Him having his life and freedom should turn him righteous imo
he choose to hurt himself instead of the people around him,
This is real shit, this really how it happens. You be so fucking up and feel invicible, until boom you get popped, than you get out and everyone of your plays is gone :/. Im going thru this rn
That shit killed Leon to see his boy like that 😢
9:17 I know it's not supposed to be funny but Franklin calling Lee 'Yo-Yo' again was kinda funny😂
